    Hi. My sister and I bought this hot tub for our Canadian wilderness cabin…it arrived without any instructions ….. that made sense to us at least….so we you tubed it….and voila! A wonderful Englishman who walked us through every step..use language we understand in an accent we love…so we are here in the mountains, in the back country of our cabin waiting to turn on the heat and enjoy the amazing stars visible only at night…we are hoping to get the right temperature tonight….thank you so much~!!! You absolutely made our summer!!

    Dear About the House - Your vid on how to use the operating panel of my Saluspa hot tub is excellent. I was lost without your guidance. The whole RCD thing was so annoying that I hated even turning on my unit. No idea what the panel lock was for or how to use it. The interaction between the heater function and the circulation function were a totally unknown. And so on. You get the picture. Thank you so much for your time and effort. Really appreciate it.

    Wow, thank you so much for this video. I was cleaning my spa, as I do often, and while I was blowing air into the tube the pump shut off. I unplugged it several times hoping to get it to restart. I thought I had damaged the pump somehow. I went onto the internet looking for a replacement Lay Z Spa Replacement Air-jet Pump / Heater 2021 - Freeze Shield. The cost was $200 and up. I was about to buy another Lay Z Spa Replacement Air-jet Pump / Heater 2021 - Freeze Shield, when I decided to google how to troubleshoot a Lay Z Spa Replacement Air-jet Pump / Heater 2021 - Freeze Shield and ran across your video. Boy, I am glad I did. 2:18 into the video you mention checking the reset button before and after you empty and fill the spa. I immediately ran downstairs in the freezing weather and checked for the reset button. Of course, my reset button is on the harness that you said is useless, but nonetheless, I pressed it and my blower worked. Alleluiah!!! Thank you so much for an incredibly detailed and educational video...You saved me $200 dollars.😇

    Firstly thank you for your very informative content you have helped me greatly with my new lazy spa. I have a question which i cannot find the answer for… i have the new model like yourself with the “freeze shield “ however I’m unsure whether the pump needs to be running for this to work OR can it also be turned off along with the heat ? I think as long as there is power to the unit showing temp if there is an issue with temp falling the pump and heat will turn itself on?

    Really good as ever - i know you was focusing on the control panel, but you did mention the earth / RCD. I would like to point out the RCD/Earth connection underneath the Pump unit. If you are getting an error about Earthing, running a good earth from here will potentially fix this, allowing you to turn on the unit. I'm going to clean/service my unit in the coming weeks, so will make a video as well, but hopefully this accompanys your excellent info as well.

    • @AbouttheHouse0
      @AbouttheHouse0  3 роки тому +2

      Yes, the unit does have an earthing terminal. You also need to be aware of your earthing system though. If you are getting an earth error with a TN-S or TN-C-S system then it is likely you have a problem in your wiring which should be investigated - simply adding an earth directly to the tub just masks that problem. The resistance of the CPC in these systems should normally be well below the error threshold.
      Problems may arise where you have a TT system. if the tub shows this error with a TT it is likely the ground is dry and the resistance of the electrode is high. A second electrode connected to the earth terminal may help, or even soaking the ground around the electrode.
      Some people erroneously believe you are not allowed to "export PME" and that an outbuilding must be a TT. This simply is not the case not least because PME only exists on the supplier side of the meter. Where PME (TN-C-S) is available it will always be safest to continue this to any outbuilding.

    • @AbouttheHouse0

    The RCD ( with the reset buttonlight) does an internal check: when plugged in in a non-grounded plug, it won't go live and give through current to the pump. That's the saftety reason why this feature is on the cable.

    I found your videos to be very helpful. Could you tell me if it is okay to leave your pump unit outside without any cover during the summer or whether direct sunlight or rain will damage the unit?

    • @AbouttheHouse0
      @AbouttheHouse0  2 роки тому +4

      OK to leave it outside. OK in rain. The sun might bleach the plastic slightly over a few years but it'll be okay otherwise.

    Maybe I'm being stupid... but once my tub has reached the temp I want. Do I then turn off the heat button? And automatically the pump will keep the water at the desired temp?

      No, not quite. When the heater goes off at the set temp, the button goes green. leave it alone with the pump running. When the temp drops again a few hours later the heater will come back on and the button goes red. And so on and so on ad infinitum.

      Also not to be dense - the reheating will happen automatically so long as the heating button was left alone in the on position?

    New Zurich owner here. My tub is up to temperature, heater light is green and circulation on. So all is working properly yeah? My real question is why does the circulation have to remain running when the desired temp is reached, especially overnight? Why can't both heat and circulation just be off and automatically come back on if the temperature drops? Is that possible and how do I set that up? Thank you.

    Hi, I am in the US and just bought the Hawaii hydrojet model with the new 2021 pump. Are these pumps the same internally as the egg versions? Same impellor? And resources on these new pumps like internal diagrams or parts for them would be greatly appreciated, ours are 120 volts, but hopefully impellors, o-rings, heaters etc may be the same. Thank you

      I'm not certain, but believe they are. I haven't needed to take ours apart yet (not sure the wife would appreciate it, lol).
