This is why I’ve always been very apprehensive about maintaining contact with exes or rekindling past relationships especially if It ended poorly. Chances are, how they treated you and felt about you then, has not changed. Most people only temporarily modify their behavior until their goal is accomplished. Also, this pandemic has definitely exposed the desperation of ppl who aren’t able to sit alone with themselves due to the slow down in social activities. Several of my exes have reached out during this pandemic to “check on me”. Ladies, do not let your ego lead you into self destruction. He doesn’t want anything! It struck me when you said we miss the attention until it’s gone. What men don’t understand is that women are literally treated like walking sex objects when they’re younger. Some enjoy it but many don’t. I used to long for the days when men stopped harassing me. I’m 40 now. While I still get checked out and hit on occasionally, it’s not the relentless badgering that it used to be by a long shot. I LOVE it!!! It is SO wonderful to be able to go into public and not be harassed and ogled! Some women have a hard time with this progression but it feels like FREEDOM to me. I went through this with my first boyfriend. We were together for a little over 3 years. I absolutely adored him and did everything to show that I loved him. He tested me in extreme ways at the start. When he knew he could push me to do to sexual stuff with him and I wouldn't speak up for myself, he took advantage of this. He placed me in that specific category where in his eyes I was only good for that one thing. I quickly stopped these patterns because I didn't want this. He was really angry and dumped me saying that nothing could make me happy and a bunch of other stuff. It is so hard to reflect on this because I always wonder if things would have been different if I would've taken things slower with him and maintained my boundaries.

I've listened to this about 5 times in one day. I want to make sure I didn't miss one point. It is mind blowing and life changing. The truth hit me in the face. The car scenario is/was me down to the penny. It let me see I am just the current fool as far as he is concerned. Lisssen, in this day and age, I really believe that people (as a whole) have become sooooo selfish that they are only looking out for THEMSELVES! Periodt! That goes for men & women. Relationships are about give & take, mutual respect, honesty and compatibility. I'm single by choice and will continue to be because I don't have time for the games & all the other bs that men put out. No matter how much you love & care for someone, and put up with them, it won't matter to them until you're gone. Once a cheater, always a cheater, they're only sorry that they got caught.

I went through this with my first boyfriend. We were together for a little over 3 years. I absolutely adored him and did everything to show that I loved him. He tested me in extreme ways at the start. When he knew he could push me to do to sexual stuff with him and I wouldn't speak up for myself, he took advantage of this. He placed me in that specific category where in his eyes I was only good for that one thing. I quickly stopped these patterns because I didn't want this. He was really angry and dumped me saying that nothing could make me happy and a bunch of other stuff. It is so hard to reflect on this because I always wonder if things would have been different if I would've taken things slower with him and maintained my boundaries.
