    This song has always been equally true to any time period as it has ever been. Nothing has changed.
    We should fix that.

      If you mean the actual System of Control we live in and not like Vaccine Mandates, people are and always have been not through Direct Violence because that would just be suicide but are doing things that direct impact Capitalism, Communism is on the rise enough that it's now official bad accprding to the government, but also Fascism is doing the same because Capitalism is in it's decaying form and fascism is basically the most extreme last bastion of Capitalism

      Now there's more its agents to audit the poor since they know they can't afford a lawyer to stop the government from taking more money. The rich can afford to fight the irs with lawyers. Why does the us need 150,000 agents for 1%

      The need for freedom is not an American trait. It is something that's alive in every man and woman. Most of the time it is supressed by government or religion, but some people fight against those things because they long for freedom.
      It has nothing to do with nationality, it has to do with the strength of character and awareness of the mind.

    • @Mike-zx7lq

      American liberalism (that is, in the original sense, the radical devotion to personal liberty and hostility to power, not the modern "liberal/conservative" dichotomy) comes directly from existing English traditions. It decayed and faded first in Britain, then later in America, though it has been left everywhere in American history and still echoes today. Apparently it still echoes oh so faintly in our brethren across the pond as well. It has revived somewhat in past decades in the US as Libertarianism, but, well... aside from a few deep-diving historians and thinkers, most of the original spirit is still warped through the funhouse mirror of modern politics, exclaimed by people who barely know what they're talking about, and generally seems to serve as a sideshow attraction. And I say this as someone who's been deeply affected by the intellectual tradition and jumped headlong into the rabbit hole to see where it went. I don't want anything to do with party politics, but now I'll gladly help keep the spirit alive.

    Brexit made me think about this song.

    • @rossshand4385
      @rossshand4385 8 років тому +1

      Brexit empowers nationalists and socialists
      EU did nothing wrong

    • @coreyladd125
      @coreyladd125 8 років тому +13

      EU is a centralized government organization that changes its participants from sovereign nations into little more than European city states. In addition the nations with weaker economies such as Greece will inevitably rely on the economic powerhouses such as Britain to sustain itself.

    • @rossshand4385
      @rossshand4385 8 років тому

      Corey Ladd I don't conflate sovereignty with freedom. One's vote matters so little he should ignore it in the calculation. Sovereignty is only rule by the local mob instead of a distant one. In this case the distant mob are moderate and in my view preferable.

    • @coreyladd125
      @coreyladd125 8 років тому +3

      Centralized power rarely has a desirable outcome. We are witnessing the problems of central governance here in america. If it doesn't work for a nation, why would it work for the majority of a
      Continent?

    • @rossshand4385
      @rossshand4385 8 років тому

      Corey Ladd Centralized power might not be working well in the USA. It might not be working well for any state in the union. But if the question is whether secession from the union would improve one's life in a particular state, that depends on the character of the local population and the policies they will implement as compared to the federal government.

      @duncanlemp692 3 роки тому +12

      How is voicing your opinion a bad thing? Everyone is equal and is entitled to an opinion. No one persons opinion is worth more than any others. Equality of opinion, speech, religion, etc. is a key point in Liberty. So I say, you sir, are the hypocrite.

    Nice but almost liberal. "Stand up and fight for what you own" "If a man aks for your business" "Trade libety for safe". Ugh, so little bourgueois...

    • @ForwardSynthesis
      @ForwardSynthesis 5 років тому +9

      I don't see how it can be "bourgeois" when it's not talking about anything so specific as the freedom of capitalists to hire and fire people trapped in some sort of overarching system. It's talking about the older and simpler liberty of a man's home and individual will.
