Jordan Peterson perpetually gives off the “I’m not mad, just disappointed” dad vibe
Ahaha so true
Given the fact that, a bigot is defined as a person who is intolerant towards those holding opinions different from their own, I don't think that the protesters would see the irony of their placard.
Right. Self righteous hypocrites!
Mr. Peterson is exactly how I thought educated scholars and college professors are when I was a small child. So well spoken and very knowledgeable.
Have been in academia previously, I'm sad to say academics like Jordan are a needle in a haystack.
But not always very smart.
you made me tear man, same thing
Thanks to them interrupting his lecture I now know there's a new lecture to watch
Me too lol..
And that's the exact effect that tatics like that have, promotion to the thing they are fighting against. It's so counterintuitive.
Pretty much
This guy's ability to quickly form well-structured sentences with a rich vocabulary is oddly satisfying to me.
Most definitely!
Absolutely!
The goat 🐐
Facts
@Simon Bolduc I'm neither american nor do I follow politics. But I'll make the same hasty generalization right back to you and say this is a great addition to my theory on dismissive, non-constructive left-wing behavour. Your welcome!
"Behaviour that would be out of place at a four year old's birthday party" - I like that
Psychology is hip again. I love it.
When was it hip?
Good advise is always in fashion. Psychologists and psychology, however, tend to attract either good hearted, intelligent saints or...people working out their crippling emotional problems from the wrong side of the couch. (Sometimes both). In that Dr. Peterson takes the good from psychology, he's a great man. :)
Thank you. 9/11 shattered the world. We're pulling shit back together.
j l There is no global warming. Its a debunked theory. The rest of your rant sucks too.
Psychology is not even wrong, much of these days. It's too informed by identity politics.
He makes a good point about this being 'True Narcissism at Work', because something I've always noticed about people who have meltdowns about issues like this is the contrast between their obnoxious behavior and how poorly informed they are on the issues they claim to be protesting for or against. They claim to be crusaders, but the bottom line truth is they're just looking for attention for themselves.
These people honestly believe themselves to be doing something good and virtuous, that's the scary part. Yuri Bezmenov said that we can't rewire these people, we can only educate a new generation of sane people, this is our mission today.
Its only getting worse. Trait narcissism is even higher in the last generation, so be prepared.
Humility is the only antidote to narcissism. And humility requires failure and self-reflection. These people lack self-reflection, and they can't fail because they never try anything in the first place. They are useless.
There are probably enough of these videos up already and probably thousands more to come, but I really liked what Dr. Peterson had to say about it in the second half of this clip.
Bite-sized Philosophy thank you for making these. We all really appreciate it 😎
The phrase Dr Peterson should use is - Opinions are like assholes, just because you have one doesn't mean we have to hear it.
thanks for posting it!
It's a wire weapon used to cut/strangle someone's throat. Something an assassin would carry. Scary. But she will get off with a slap on the wrist, no doubt.
Bite-sized Philosophy , thanks, sometimes I feel I am alone with my thoughts, not anymore, the door has opened
At 3:50 Jordan says they are like 2 year olds having a tantrum. That's exactly it. LOL.
but he's also being demeaning to them.?? And this "protest" illustrates free speech - how free speech of one can repress the freedom of others speech - the inevitable clash?
Lukas Norkūnas Are you asking if he's demeaning them? Or saying that he is? He said they're like 2 year olds. That's exactly right. They ARE like 2 year olds. Are you saying they have some sort of right to do this? It looks like they pepper sprayed the audience. Is that OK? Is it OK to break windows and bite the police? Why do you put "protest" in parentheses? You don't think it's a protest? Do you think they are merely exercising their right to free speech? You seem incoherent to me. What are you trying to say?
yes, calling them barbarian and stuff. I am saying he is. But since you ask - I'm asking - is he? Since it's obvious you haven't imagined seeing it as demeaning.
I mean... he's using language, these phrases that are demeaning, or rather - ussually associated with being used demeaningly. But I understand it's not demeaning, since there is a factual basis to say that. But this moralising hijacks the conversation.. I would've loved to hear Bruce Pardy finish. Since his speech was interrupted... And I'm sure not without a reason, the guy who yelled, couldn't hold it in, he burst out. The crowd booed him out - now I wished I heard what he had to say, since it's so important he couldn't hold (or was it all he had prepared just to shout out that "there is no compelled speech"... that's not saying much)... Then it's over, somehow (I hope it was perfume yeah, and no one got harmed? In the comment section I didn't see any affirmation it was pepper spray... But yeah, that's really not ok), then we could hear Bruce Pardy finish. But Jordan now takes over, ok.
"protest", I use parentheses I think, because I only want to stress I use the word formally - only to refer to what happened, to the actual physical event, not going to the heart of the matter of what it is a protest and is this it, or it lacks some required attribute to be called such.. It's really not the matter.
Free speech has to do with free conduct. And speech is also an action. So in this perspective I analyse and wonder if it's really necessary to say some things, cause it takes time and place.
So this moment of meta - he's hijacking the conversation to point out the wrongdoing of someone selfwilled hijacking the conversation. Isn't this the essence of irony? And yeah - who's going to decide for whos speech is free and whose speech is constrained by the free speech of the other? Well, it's spontaneously arranging everyday.
Lukas Norkūnas I beg to differ. I think free speech is a more government oriented thing. Free speech is the idea that your words cannot be censored or shut up. That, however, doesn’t mean that organizations can have there own rules. The venue, for example, has rules and standards, and one cannot just do that even if it is “free speech”
If that ain't the lousiest security I've ever seen...
They'll get sued for Offending a person thats under the protected Lizard robot race.
I do not believe they fear free speech for themselves, just their enemies.
JP literally sounded so disappointed in these kids. What a disgraceful group of kids.
He did, however I think he is much more disappointed in their teachers (and parents).
I LOVE the crowds reaction. Such a beautiful thing to see. God bless you all and god bless those idiots who interrupted them. Hopefully they learn.
I have never met Mr.Peterson, nor never will. However I can listen to him all day and will take advice from him, as if he were my father.
As if he were God ✌️
Am I the only one that feels like this could be straight out of a movie?
LOVE THE CALMNESS OF THE SPEAKERS & AUDIENCES!
This man has appeared at the right time and the right place in such an undeniably powerful and civilized way. He is single-handedly providing an antidote to deep morasses of cultural and political confusion and hatred in the West.
God damn it's been a while since I've liked so many comments
I argue it is because most humans are terrible at cutting their losses.
Physical or Ideological.
Admitting and realizing you are wrong means timing and energy was misdirected.
I think it is worse when you have been lied to. It becomes harder to let go for some reason O don't understand.
Yea I reckon that's got a good bit do with the whole issue, people just don't wanna flip sides since it means they lost something in the process, not thinking about the potential gains.
your name propaganda and indoctrination since birth as well remember these people didn't go through life thinking for themselves
Lol, very well said. It's the 'woe is me' scenario. Sam Beckett would of approached the same idea in his works. Life is a struggle. There are often 'more priks than kicks', a world where the best policy was to 'fail, try again, fail better'.
Hope they get sued for spraying people.
Oooh so those are sprays, I was wondering what the hell they were holding their hands like that for.
On a sidenote, acid attacks are pretty popular on the UK, this can go south really ez.
just hope that they didnt spray anyone
Like really, trying to figure out what's in those spray bottles completely stole my attention from any of the rest of this video. I'm assuming whatever it was wasn't too bad going by the fact that, were it something harmful or super-gross like cat piss, I personally would have stood up and decked them (or maybe I just personally have a low boiling point?) so it must've been something at the worst mildly annoying, but just using water feels weak for people who hijacked a lecture... Legit though, what do they think they'll accomplish by spraying the crowd? You could possibly argue that hijacking the stage showed that they're just really passionate about whatever the topic was, if perhaps a bit too passionate, but spraying the audience with dubious liquid, people who are just there to listen, paints them as as assholes and would make anyone who might've considered what they were trying to say dismiss anything coming from them on principle. You don't win people to your cause by attacking them, idiots.
I hope that they will sort themselves out
If they had sprayed me I'd have introduced their smug faces to the floor.
Wow... Just wow. The world is blessed to have such a man in it.
What I really like about Mr. Peterson is his clear thinking and composture. By being polite and calm he is capable of delivering scorching and spot-on criticism in less than six minutes. I might disagree with him on a few topics, but I do envy his patience and calm. He is doing a great favour to society by counter-opposing what the left has become.
"...to see it brought down by people whose behavior would be out of place at a four-year-old's birthday party is something abysmal to behold." Amen to that, Doctor.
"People whose behaviour would be out of place at a 4 year old's birthday party." Exactly
Lol what are they protesting? Peterson telling them to clean their rooms and be better people?
Ritz Tan They're deeply confused.
They're told he's an alt-right figure on par with Richard Spencer. These people are idiots but the real bad guys are their neo-Marxist professors and the left wing media
That's *precisely* why they're so angry.
Nice simplification but no, he wants you to contribute even if you're a hobo he probably doesn't believe in living off grid.
Killua Zoldyck Protestor said it clearly: Compelled speech is a bullshit argument [regarding Bill C16].
They’re right. And this brief heckling *is* free speech. This is heckling done well.
He's better with a beard.
soundsgood literally is the exact same person , even says the same things without a beard
why are you focusing on such insignificant things? this is not a movie nor a TV show. Are you 15?
He oddly enough looks like a young Christopher Lee
yes it fits hem excellent !
Not unlike Mr. Spock, much better bearded.
For the most part people are not curious except about themselves.
I'm not sure about that because I'm also curious about myself. But that curiosity makes Prof. Peterson all the more interesting to listen to.
Completely agree. Have your opinions and share them, discuss them, but there’s a way to do these things that doesn’t involve aggression. Go Dr Peterson 🎉
JORDAN PETERSON IS THE MAN!
If you have no existential needs, you are searching for anything you can protest against because this is a part of growing up. As you get older, you realize that dialogue is a better way to change something than plain opposition.
I'm watching this from the confinement of my home, thousand miles away, cross the ocean, from a country called Romania, having agreed with what Jordan Peterson said, and even I feel embarrassed. That's how blatantly shattering a good argument can be.
Digging his new beard.
He looks healthier, too.
JPs composure and desire to genuinely help others is what makes him remarkable. People whom protest in a world where they have everything they need, are trying to milk it for everything they can. It's another form of trying to gain power and control, and it's frightening that people that speak about peace use the same consciousness that created enslavement. We as Humans are not above the pettiness of our Animal Instinct, but we're certainly smart enough to see what we are doing. If they'd actually listen, they might have their lives changed and can let go of their desire for external control (which is an illusion and simply stated just is, ridiculous to attempt and requires both strong internal abuse and external, aka it makes you an ass all around) as they realize they could utilize that in a way that serves actual opportunity and does not just strengthen their own personal ignorance. The only ignorance that can truly exist is ignorance of ones self. This is why Psychology is so imparative to our species. We have the power to control masses of resources and even others, if we don't understand that the way we respond reflects directly our psychological beliefs of ourself, we're just chasing our own tail.
This is an accurate summary. Thinly veiled power grab by the maggots of the corpse of pro-Soviet academia.
Sticking the subtitles on is beautiful
Haha, right on
As usual Dr. Jordan Peterson handles this with class.
0:41 - Jordan laughing about his growing Patreon
He's actually laughing 'cause me and a buddy in the front row were chanting "clean your room!" He didn't pick up on it right away, but once he realized he started chuckling
if thats true, thats the greatest inside baseball humor ever lol
You can actually hear them chanting. Amazing.
John David Anderson its the truth, or at least not a lie
*"Hehehe, thanks to these buckos I'm gonna be getting another 40$ a month, roughly speaking"*
This is a natural consequence of children raised to think they are so special that they cannot be wrong -- ie, they are right all the time. And anything they don't like, or that doesn't cater to them, is automatically wrong.
Check out the spirit of the distractors: angry, arrogant, self-entitled, self-righteous, disrespectful to many just so they can get their 2 cents worth in. Impatient, factious.
Then check out the calm demeanor and civility of those seeking truth, rather than agenda or ideology.
There is such a zeal to "change the world" . . . that they don't notice they're changing it for the worse.
Reprehensible on Queens University that there was no security to deal with these event-crashers -- and no consequence like official reprimand or even expulsion for such a repugnant display . . . "in their name"??
Those two girls interrupting speech and then attacking the ppl near them should be in prison.
JORDAN PETERSON My Hero. His philosophy can save this world.
True nobility
That smile at 0:22 kills me. It's like he's going, thank you for giving me a visual exhibit of my exact point
God damn
Every single vid I watch of him I get something new.
My personal opinion was that people who disbehave in this way would listen if you do the same.
Thanks to Dr Peterson I understand I was wrong, thanks!
"It's a *FUCKING LIE* , There is no such thing as COMPELLED SPEECH!!"
That's why I'm COMPELLING you to *AGREE WITH ME* !
Thanks
LOVE Jordan’s response. Get real, people! In what universe is that a good way to behave?!
This is just funny. I mean, what are they standing for, against?
They don't know. That, out of the whole thing, is probably the saddest part. They're just against a strawman of their minds.
Their poster said "Freedom to smash bigotry" - that should give you a hint. They want to have the freedom to smash other people's freedom of speech if they dislike the others opinion.
Suyamu right It might have well said freedom to hate taco Tuesday. You can't have context with protest like this.
Something imaginary.
That will look great on a resume!!
That last line, classic Peterson 👌😉🐸🎂🤣
Spot on
Well said
"What's wrong with kids today?" apparently never gets old. His problem is with the fact of protest, not poorly-behaved protestors....which is odd, since he claims to be defending free speech.
Has nothing to do with protesting your beliefs. It has to do with conducting yourself like an adult. If you want to hold a peaceful protest outside and tell people what you believe in and what your fighting for then that's conducting yourself like an adult. But to barge into a conversation like they did is just clearly disrespectful and rude and he summed up there behavior perfectly. I think you were just missing the point as to why he was saying "What's wrong with kids today?"
Bravo
You can hear the choking of dissapointment in his voice at the disgrace of these people... a true genuine man, it's been a year since I discovered Jordan ... he has made my life much better
Lmao he's so right. They can't find an audience of their own so they hijack a popular figure's crowd in order to scream out a bunch of horse shit. Do they realize how much of a parody they look like? Spending their hard earned time making these stupid posters with the mindset that by screaming and holding it that people will listen. These are real people folks... sometimes I forget because of how ridiculous it is. These type of people have the ability to vote too which is scary.
"There's no such thing as compelled speech.........by the way, here's a memo I made of all the words you aren't allowed to use anymore."
I like his psychology talks. Who else should I check out that I might enjoy?
JP 00:23 : Been there, done that
Well said Jordan
damn now that's some good action right there
Feelings over reality.
He says embarrassed instead of in jail like his opponents. That’s the difference. Emotional punishment can be far greater than physical.
MrCTruck JBP, has said that psychology is not science
I love Jordan Peterson.
Beautiful use of the moment to further expound on the truth in his message.
“That was a very disgraceful display....
FUNDAMENTALLY!”
“A merry heart doeth good like a medicine: but a broken spirit drieth the bones.”
Proverbs 17:22 KJV
isn't spraying pepperspray basically assault with a chemical weapon?
How do you dialog with people who know that they are right by their virtue signaling and eloquent use of obscenities?🤔
Hey, am I the only one with really weird recommendations on the original vid? Because I think UA-cam is censoring its reach!
Hi, I would be very interested what exactly is going on with your recommendations. I would appreciate if you would try to describe it in detail, I am very interested in what UA-cam/Google is doing.
Basically, 40 minutes ago, there were recommendations for a live feed named kids tv, and a weird french emission, which had nothing more than 12k views. There was ~ 8 videos max, 5 of them being on the JBP channel already. Now that I go back to the original vid, I only see 2 vids from the JBP channel (nazis and conservatism, and the speech about hitler in his 2015 maps of meaning). However it only applies to his video! On yours I have plenty of recommendations!
yeah, looking at it again, there are links to norway tv replays (i'm french, btw, I never watch that) AND the URL is exceptionally long, weirdly enough. Some people over twitter should try to make some waves
I checked, too and the recommendations under the full lecture are VERY weird for me, too. First weird thing is, there are only 5 recommended videos and the ones that get recommended are very weird videos for children one of which is arabic (I don't speak arabic). It's perfectly normal for every other video. Thank you for pointing it out, I will keep a close eye on that.
I just pinned the comment, just to see if other people are experiencing this and if there is a reasonable explanation for it. Keep in mind we are talking about the original lecture (link in the description).
None of those people "protesting" have ever been hungry.
What did they spray the crowd with?
It's actually narcissism disguised as courage. Nietzsche himself stated as much.
what they were spraying?
Free speech is important. Everybody has a voice, even people who disagree with you! So hard to understand for some millenial-butthurtians apparently! Education is key to understanding!
JP's words enter my ears as smoothly as spreading butter
Consider always the possibility that weird disrupters of accepted forms of discussion are often paid mercenaries, fake ideologues, which is one reason why their message seems so off.
The identities of such ones should at least be looked into, in a journalistic way.
And spraying, pushing, throwing things should be treated as acts of assault. Plenty of laws exist regarding these 100% unacceptable behaviours.
What we're they spraying around when they ran down?
What were those girls spraying on the crowd?
Jordan Peterson should run for president
Like how there's airport security in NYC public high schools, they need to put this high level security in all these other schools.
the perfume was pretty funny ngl
0:27 thats the girl who vandalized the building's windows.
Anyone else notice a common trait of them also being hideously unfashionable?
It's that time again.
*Opens JBP's Patreon *
They rode the dragon of chaos out of their dirty rooms and right off the edge of the dominance hierarchy, only lobsters can save them now...
what did they sprey?
Yes, Veronica, there is indeed no such thing as Compelled Speech - brought to you by Carl's Jr.
Man ...
Spazzes
There’s a better and more productive way.
It’s may not be as simple as high jacking a platform but the residual effects are long-lasting and effective.
Besides they weren’t very strategical. After they captured the audience attention, yelled, screamed, voiced their concerns than what? Everyone ignored them as if they were real live adult toddlers.
Their parents must’ve been the parents that rewarded outbursts behaviors and temper tantrum because as children we were all taught that’s a no no.
Why did they interrupt his speech? What did he do they didnt like??
How ironic how horribly they were "smashed" after that ridiculous and embarrassing theater.
Lmao, I hate being a millenial sometimes. I’ve listen to Peterson before and I think he’s got an interesting perspective, does that make me wrong? I don’t get why he has all of these haters
Because left-wing ideologues have severe mental issues.
Maestro_T I mean I’m somewhere in between, and I don’t totally agree with him on everything. I just don’t understand why people can’t just listen to another persons point of view and consider it now a days. If it doesn’t fit their agenda they are screaming hatred and writing him off as a human being. I see it a lot, and totally don’t get it.
Mayonnaise It's due to poor education and poor upbringing. Effectively these people have been taught that they have a right not to be offended and that trumps someone's freedom of speech. This is pretty remarkable considering the latter is enshrined in law and the former isn't, which says a lot about what they are being taught. A lot of these people don't have personal confidence either, and they require being part of a group to gain some confidence, so they end up over-reacting to any kind of attack on them or the people they stand beside.
"There's no such thing as compelled speech"?
Does anyone else think the guy in the baseball cap looks like Randall from Clerks?
3:50 “It’s no better in some sense than a two year old having a tantrum on the floor.”
Did he say there's no such thing as compelled speech?
In the US, spraying someone technically meets the requirements of assault and battery. Not sure about Canada. Either way, I wish someone would've floored one of them.
HERO
