After reviewing all of the pampered chef mandolin videos, yours is the best presented, well explained, and most professional. Hence, I have subscribed to your future videos thank you for rescuing me.😂
Thank You for your well-done demonstration of the Rapid Prep Mandolin. I just purchased this and look forward to experimenting with and making eating healthier much easier. I plan to prep in advance for salad toppings in order to avoid wasting foods. Thanks for making this presentation easy!!
Thank you SO much for showing us how to hand wash this! My current dishwasher situation had me hesitant to buy because I didn’t think hand washing was an option. Not any more!
I bought this at least a year ago. Wish I had your video then. I used it once and got frustrated with it. There it sat all this time! I'm going to try this again!
Many eons ago, you had to be invited to a Pampered Chef party to see demos and buy things. Now I can easily buy online! Just found this out. Now I can get the mandolin. Your demo made it easy to see how it works and what you can do. I make pickles, so i need something to slice quickly and safely. My mandolin is old and dangerous with an exposed blade.
I love how easy it is to your hands on Pampered Chef now and fresh pickles sound great. You can still have parties to earn rewards but you don't have to. I do recommend ordering from a consultant since they can provide direct support. I also have a video which goes over the different ways you can buy and my contact info is in all my video's descriptions if you want more help: ua-cam.com/video/iTRJAXLZzn0/v-deo.html
I enjoy your videos, they are straight forward and easy to follow with visuals. I just ordered my rapid prep mandolin after watching this, plus your french fry video. Thanks!
french fries, sweet potato fries, apple fries, and scalloped potatoes are the top reasons why I ordered this! cant wait to play around with other veggies with
@@PamperedChefWithKatie lol well, I never made it the other day. BUT, we just got a cool front here in TN this morning, so it's going to be perfect today 🥰
I wouldn't call it heavy duty since it's made out of plastic and the 3 year guarantee is for non-commercial use. When I think of heavy duty, I think stainless steel and commercial rated. The current sale ends on 31Jan ($10.50 off) if you're leaning towards buying one: www.pamperedchef.com/pws/pcwithkatie/shop/Kitchen+Tools/Food+Prep/Rapid-Prep+Mandoline/100351
Great demo, thanks! I have the earlier version of PC's mandoline and am always disappointed with the amount of food waste (leftover on the pusher side than what was actually cut, requiring more hand chopping). Have you found the this product does a good job of pushing all the food to the blade for cutting?
I have a little left at the end but I usually just dice it with my knife and add it to whatever I am cooking. This is one of my favorite items in my kitchen! I used it to make like sweet potato noodles the other day and it worked great! I used the julienne setting at a 1. 👌 👌
@goPACK1978 they are not long. Short ones. It doesn't let me add a picture. I use the julienne setting at like a 2 or 3 so they are thin but not so thin they turn to mush.
After cutting myself on a different mandolin, I really like the look of this one, as it looks MUCH safer. Thanks for the video, and it was very well done. Loved that you used split screen to show the different thickness. 👍
I have a horrible habit of cutting myself! I have never wanted a mandoline b/c I see myself losing a finger. This is thr first one I have felt safe using! My 10yr old has even used it and I feel comfortable letting him.
Really liked your video, went to Amazon to buy it and I put in Pampered Chef Rapid Prep Mandoline. So many different ones came up with different prices. How do I find the one you have? Thanks
The only waybto get a Pampered Chef one is to order it via our website. I have a fundraiser set up if you like to www.pamperedchef.com/party/alsmaryblunt If you decide to still order via Amazon I can not guarantee anything with it. Those are sold by others and will not come with the Pampered Chef warranty.
Can you adjust the vertical thickness of fries - to get 1/4 inch McDonald’s sized fries 22nd video watched still unable to answer that simple question There’s no such thing as the perfect fries size - everyone’s different
Definitely something to take into account. Things like cucumbers are easy, carrots can get tough if you try and do too many at once, and sweet potatoes are probably the hardest I've used it for. Not as bad as the French Fry cutter from Amazon I tried though... that thing cuts the entire Potato at once: Rapid-Prep French Fry Video: ua-cam.com/video/uGN8j-Qkmiw/v-deo.html

You are so smart. I hadn't thought to move it to an 8 setting when I clean it.
I just received mine. This is an excellent video start to finish! Thank you so much for your explanation!

Can you shred cheese with it? I've googled it but can't seem to find an answer. Thanks!
Never had this much fun cutting up veggies before the PC mandoline...happy camper!
Agree, it is oddly satisfying & a finger saver 🖐

Thanks for this! Can you recommend the thickness used for scalloped potatoes?
My guess would be a 3 or 4. So I would just do one check and go up or down depending on your want.
Can you use this for dicing peppers?
Yes! You cut them one way and then put the back in the other way! It is great.
What is the icon between #7 and #8 on the Mandoline for??? I thought it would cut waffle 'type potato slices but it doesn't seem to have a purpose.
It is just showing like fries. #8 is considered the perfect # for fries. But yes it is a bit misleading

No. You can not change the distance on the blades. Thick or thin. 2 options.
Could you please do a Roma tomato 🍅
Make sure your tomato is hard. If it is soft it will get mushed.
Could you please do a tomato in the mandolin so we can see how it slices thank you

I think you have to pretty strong and Katie sure looks like she is working hard...I am not sure it would work for me!
