Some of the habits involve thought patterns while others involve ways of behaving, but all of the habits can lead to unhappiness and even depression. Counselor Carl's straight-forward teaching style makes complex concepts easy to understand. Counselor Carl is a licensed, professional counselor with 20 years of clinical experience both online and face-to-face.

I lost my husband of 7 years Suddenly 11 months ago at only 29 years old...it feels like the greif has become worse and more painful as time has passed on from the numbness wearing off and the reality is setting in. Denial and depression are my two biggest stages I tend to go between. Isolation is an issue for me and I know that needs to change. Thank for the video.

Hi, Angela. I am so sorry for the tragic loss of your husband. Many grievers say that the grief feels more difficult in the second you - just as you said "with the numbness wearing off and the reality setting in." I urge you to see a grief counselor or join a grief group to break out of your isolation. I believe this will help you have more realistic expectations of yourself and the grieving process. You will also gain support from those who are going through grief and thus understand better than most what you are going through. Even though I am a grief counselor, I saw a grief counselor and joined a grief group when I suffered a tragic loss.

Counselor Carl, Thank you so much, I will try to find a support group it will be hard to go but I’ll set that as a goal because I know it would really help me and I’d feel less alone, I often have the feeling “no one could understand this” but I know that I can’t be true, i am also so sorry for your tragic loss. Thank you so much I will take your suggestion seriously because I know you understand 🙏🏻❤️

Counselor Carl i believe that what you said about buying happiness caanot be achieveched through money or material possessions. I already am familiar with that one because i go to church and we sometimes talk about it over there.

Fennel Tea Up to a certain point, meaning reasonably financially secure (but not rich), money increases happiness, but beyond that not much gain and in fact can actually decrease happiness.

Why are people willing to give credit to the universe but not to God? He created the universe! This video lost all credibility for me after the “children of the universe” comment.
