I prefer the original release. The brown color helps contrast him with goji. I want Tamashii to give rodan and mothra repaints with colors that are MOVIE ACCURATE.
Yeah I agree I like when Kong is a more brown hue too. And I would want some repaints of those figures if Hiyas weren’t already so much better in my opinion.

overall, it kinda just is what it is for me. i don't have problems with it, nor am i excited for it. i don't think it was really for people like you and me who already have the other versions. i really like the matte finish, but i think it's pretty safe to say that they'll be giving us a beast glove version with a metal tooth at some point. maybe an updated sculpt. would pair nice with the new godzilla.
I would love to see Showa/heisei/millennium enemy kaijus and Godzillas friends like Anguirus and I’d love a toho 1963 King Kong and that would bring sh monsterarts back
Random but surprised they never made a monsterarts skull island kong. You'd think it'd be easier coz he's somewhat slimmer (stil buff though) and has his orangey brown fur
I end up using a metallic ink marker for the tooth. I never had a Kong figure so this was my first 😅 I was kind of shocked how small it was I just thought it would be a little bit more bigger than what I got especially for the price 😤
If your wondering why Kong has like a large grey scar on his back on the figure it’s because he has that scar in GXK but idk if it looks like that on the figure it’s more bigger in the movie it like goes down his spine in the movie
2:52 the previous kong was a more expensive exclusive. you paid more for those accessories. the first release came with all the same accessories this one has for around the same price. i think it would have been nice to at least get a grinning head for this guy tho. im sure we'll get a beast glove version with a metal tooth to go with the evolved godzilla they just showed off

I got my GXK kong yesterday, and I actually really like it! Not a big fan of the prior release's glossy brown paint, so I am satisfied 👍

Yeah as far as I understand, if you buy Skar King, he will come with a beast glove for this specific kong but should fit on the others too

7:01 that's from when godzilla burned his back in GvK. i would have preferred they did some sculpting work there, but the paint is fine too i guess.
I just wish that they'd jused the Event exclusive chest sculpt so that the new scars added by his fight with Godzilla would be more than just paint.
