great video! Thanks for your insights. I am wondering if you could make a video about racials in bfa. A very interesting topic which no one else covered yet. Keep up the good work!
Great video :) but i have to correct you on something. Feral deosn´t play like in Legion^^" Since 8.0.1 you really can bin feral right meow....sadly :/
PregnantOrc As a feral since vanilla, imo the problem isn't that there's s hybrid tax, it's just that the whole spec has been needing a serious and fundamental overhaul since cata but they just can't manage it. Any tiny change they make creates a huge uproar in the toxic neckbeard community of feral players. The rotation is clunky and complex for the sake of being complex, our aoe sucks more than in legion now with the nerf to brutal slash, the talents are extremely dull and uninspiring and imo the two worst skills/talents in the game are currently tuned to be top pick, which are savage roar and bloodtalons.
Been playing feral for two expansions. Time to drop it. Very punishing play style if you mess anything up, the dmg is not worth the reward of difficulty, our aoe is horrible, and while I like a challenging, bloodtalons feels so stupid and makes no sense. RIP my feral days.
I'm having the hardest time deciding, too. Was dead set on Warlock, but despite the smooth gameplay Demo is rock bottom DPS, Destro is rather underwhelming outside of it's 3 min cooldown, and Affliction is a little micromanagement-y with the top build requiring every active DoT/talent or taking a 15%+ dps loss and it looks shard starved at 120.
In final fantasy 14 dpsing as a healer is super important. Pretty much every healer is required to dps whenever possible, so you will always see a healer dpsing in a dungeon or raid.
Whenever there's downtime i just use smite + holy fire, get that double holy fire stack going yfm, got chastise too, just throw that shit out too why not
I love both Warrior specs but definitely going with Fury, as Arms currently feeling a little rage-starved (Although I will be maining Arms for pvp). I dropped my FDK because the changes kinda killed it for me, Theres no flow.
Survival hunter feels surprisingly pleasant to play. Considering I also like MM and BM, that makes hunter my main for BfA. Outlaw Rogue is also amazing, will be my first alt. And lock will be my second, since Ill vave enough mobility with the first 2 toons.
Love the class fantasy for Outlaw - I'm just terrible at it. That's on me though, not the spec. Demo Warlock is so crazy fun to play right now though. I'm loving it! If you had told me two years ago that making implosion baseline would go a long way to fixing the spec, I would have laughed in your face.
Outlaw is very easy mate, just remember you're leather and use your ample CC in case of hard mobs/multiple pulls. Insane AoE just make everything so fun. And you're right, demo lock is a blast rn, the only reason I'll not main it is the low mobility, I can get anxious with it sometimes. Hunter is a happe medium, almost as resilient as lock, almost as mobile as outlaw, can melee or ranged - and is pretty OP and easy to play for kickers!
Ended up maining a Holy Pally, and eyeing a mage (mained one way back in Vanilla/BC) for an alt, but I've always wanted a tank/melee dps guy. Based on the other toons, and your thoughts, what does the general public love the most? I wanted to have a monk dps-er but am not sure how it stacks up against other dps. I like the 5% extra damage for the squad as well.
Spot on, and kind of how it should be. Monk needs a nerf though, they shouldn't be the best tank AND tier 2 melee dps. Feral and enhancement should probably be buffed up to at least compete with tier 3.
You have and Kalani both have Ret to high. Ret closer to 200 item level right now doesn't come close to doing damage that other melee classes can, and with their lack of mobility leaves them tied with with Enhancement. The only advantage of playing Ret is their toolkit which outside of group play is pretty useless.
IMO, for M+ 1. Rogue all 2. Arms, Unholy, Havoc 3. Windwalker, Fury, Enhancement(decent utility w/ totems, tremor) 4. Ret, Frost, Survival, 5. Feral but its pretty close depending on what content your going to be doing.
Great video...melee dps is my kind of playing...love that in-your-face type of play style...been playing warrior (all specs) since vanilla...just leveled a windwalker monk...both different yet equally fun...next will be a death death knight
Hey Kelani. Thx for your videos. Just one thing - feral in BfA isn't anything like in legion, especially in Antorus where Incarn, shred-spam kitties were doing really well. BfA feral is a comeback to old bleed-centric playstyle, with shitton of dots to maintain and snapshot (rake, rip, moonfire and in some cases thrash as well, when you hit certain haste & mastery threshold). Apart from that feral AoE is gone in BfA. I've mained feral throughout Legion but now seriously thinking about going with my rogue into BfA. Better defensives, comparable mobility, awesome utility and god-tier AoE (Outlaw). Feral is super punishing right now, you mess up one snapshot or let your bleeds drop and your DPS plummets. Cheers.
Havent done much instancing yet, but the BFA questing/leveling trip has been more fun on my Enhancement Shaman as opposed to my mostly melee alts. You just feel much more versatile, and scooping up decent sized groups of mobs and squishing them with crash lighting/stormstrike is pretty simple and the light show is always cool.
Did enhancement shamans have really good survivability back in the day? I use to play a couple years ago and it seemed like no one could kill me. Am I just misremembering?
A bit of wisdom for you all... play what is fun. Don’t worry about what’s the best or the worst or flavor of the month.. play what you have the most fun with and go with it. I’ll never forget back in TBC when I dropped my shaman because they got nerfed and everyone was over them... biggest mistake ever deciding to main something else. Don’t decide to switch because of that. Play what you enjoy!
ChuaChewa if only it worked that way. This youtuber could be colaberating with ithers to make sure the masses all chose the same class. Prople need to remember their individuality.
It's more than a little unfortunate that over a decade in and they still don't make the classes relatively balanced; it's almost enough to make one think it's done that way intentionally so people are always switching or making new characters and catching up.
Outlaw Rogue is the only spec I play on what has been my least played class. I started Legion with Frost DK as my alt-main (with Boomkin) but Fury Warrior overtook it and has left it pretty much in the dust. I have been finally after all these years, leveling an Arm warrior so stay tuned on that. I will probably lead Boomkin/Fury on Ally side and Mage/MW Monk on Horde. I had killed my Monk because I hated WW but lurve MW something fierce. No chi to worry about and great healing as a bonus, though I am not ready to try my luck healing a dungeon. Raids is another matter.
Do you consider Warrior buff (only class who has the AD buff) en defensive cd in your ranking or it's juste about dps alone? Cause when you say Rogues have a big utility, they're nowhere near a warrior imho
Super happy with the survival changes. Ithought i was going to switch mains this expansion because hunter was dreadful for most of legion but this spec is intriguing
Another great video mate... I been going back and forth from frost dk and surv. hunter, trying to determine my main this xpac. I do want to add one thing about frost, I noticed on dmg meters that a huge chunk of my dmg is coming for auto attacks (specially with Icy Talons), it’s usually 2nd or 3rd on my meter. Wouldn’t that account for good sustain damage?
Mainly play Boomy but from time to time play Feral. Leveled my Sin Rogue and damage aside, Sin is so much more smooth, everything makes sense and its very fun to play. Hope Blizz give Feral some love in the first BFA patch.
Guardian, feral and moonkin always felt like cheap versions of warrior, rogue and lets say mage. You know like buying 3 pairs of abidas instead of one original adidas. Resto on other hand feels like unique and not knockoff spec.
Zenislav It can be true for feral - but guardian was always the polar opposite to prot war (large healthpool and smooth damage taken vs prot's percentage based block mechanic that is prone to spikes)and boomie has at last found it's identity as a strong and enjoyable multitarget spec (mechanically vise, mages don't have anything remotely close). You clearly didn't play druid in a long time.
DH might be a bit easy rotation but man do they move! I just love their mobility and for running around the world questing they will be no1 in fun with both double jump and wings!
Hey guys, I know this may not be the right video to ask this but, can you help me? How high can I set my WoW graphics to get somewhere around > 60 fps with an i7 6500U, GTX 960m 4GB DDR5, 8GB RAM laptop?
Does Kelani have any geared beta toons, all we usually get are low level alts or non geared toons, that really doesnt show the real dps numbers of some classes
Judge builds holy power. Also hammer of wrath does too. So the change in complexity that you are chalking up to preference, is this change, that now forces you to choose the best available ability, rather than the only button you can press.
I am loving my survival hunter right now. It's soo much fun. I believe they will get really great as gear comes in because most of their CDs are decreased by haste
Rogue - Outlaw, sub; Frost/unholy DK and havoc are likely still top. I can see outlaw/sub for my rogues and bm/survival for leveling with hunters going survival end game if I have time to put into them. I may have to level a survival dark iron dwarf to try it out (monk would level faster though). I suppose for shammy alt leveling it in enh and possibly going resto if that isn't working out well. Will level tanks first but I still always want to have at least a dedicated melee dps alt. Geography wise with the zones I feel DK's and DH's will level well (druid to a lesser extent); otherwise goblin gliders & water strider. Wish everyone the best of luck with picking what to level first and then which alts to level.
I agree with this video for the most part but I’d put survival up a tier with monk and lower dk, due to utility. The list completly changes if you facter in the class as a whole. But kany good points were brought up in the video for sure.
Personally I think Ret Paladin should be higher on the list. Their damage is consistent both aoe and single target and their tool kit can make them an excellent choice with the likes of instant cast flash heals or word of glory etc.
What is your item level? When I compare my Ret Paladin to other melee specs that I have at 110 they are lower in damage, boring rotation, and slow as molasses. The only advantage they have is their toolkit. It really is the only advantage in taking them in a group. Although the only class slower than a paladin is a DK so by the time they get to the fight it's over.
Does flexibility justify classes having lower DPS output? It seems like the more flexible a class is in their role potential, the worse their DPS is on the final listing.
If you consider Surv Hunter to be a "half-melee" spec - then you should've probably said the same about Unholy DK, as they have an arguably better potential at that with on-demand mass spread of their disease (while Wildfire Bomb has a CD), Death Coil packing a decent punch and Clawing Shadows, which makes Scourge Strike a permanently ranged attack that scales great with Mastery. Surprisingly, they both utilize pets, but ghoul has aruguably better utility.
Not to mention enhance shaman, that has a similiar amount of range stuff, if focusing on mid range. I am saddened at the dismissal of Surv as just that sometimes.
It should be noted that demon hunters bring a 5% magical damage taken debuff on the target, and monks bring 5% physical damage taken debuff on the target. This isn't restricted just to the DPS epcs though, but still worth mentioning. And warriors of course have a 10% AP buff.
Returning player leveling an Enh as a main (still lvl 50ish) and I'm seriously considering to reroll either as a Lock for ranged or DK/Warrior for melee. No freaking clue what to select...
Oh the assassination rogue part you didnt have Garrote on your bar is it not usable out of stealth anymore or useless or removed or what's going on there :) ?
He’s just really bad. He didn’t use it once and it was extremely irritating. He was also grouped with a Ret Paladin the used Divine Storm on a single target fight for some reason.
Feral just hasn't been the same since they took away Claws of Shirvallah after WoD T^T that was my favorite talent from any class during that expac, and I really enjoyed the playstyle it brought.
I hate the way they moved feral back to the old trope of being a worse-assassin-rogue by shifting focus back to bleeds again, nerfing Brutal Slash, making Savage Roar the best dps-talent and Bloodtalons also being the best pick talent again. Feral is, imo, the worst designed melee spec right now because the key mechanics are so outdated. The feral community is so toxic and cancerous, completely allergic to any change to their clunky gameplay. Play 3 times more focused than a rogue, get 1/3 the result they would get with the same effort. Shit AoE. More snapshotting BS with Bloodtalons, the worst talent line in the game, arguably, with Savage Roar as the most boring ability in the game. I've mained a feral since vanilla but I'm really getting bored and disappointed. Guardian is really dull too, but at least it's competent. Boomkin is OK, resto is OK too if you like healing. But I always get reminded of how outdated feral is as a spec when I play on my alts. They just can't make it work and any attempt to change it is met with toxicity from the rabid neckbeards who think needless complexity and underperformance is the same as "being skillful hurr durr". At least haste works on bleeds now, yay.
I got to be honest, I used to love feral druid but as soon as I tried rogue I never went back.. can't even be bothered really. As you said feral is a worst version of rogue which is said. Same can be said to guardian and prot warrior more or less. It's a shame that a druid is just a copy of other specs which makes me sad. Love them because of what a druid is and hate it because I can play other classes and have more fun
It's the savage roar, bloodtalons, rip, rake upkeep that's clunky. If you can take out say bloodtalons it makes it so much easier. Savage roar is a long buff on max points and so is rip and rake to be fair. But that insta regrowth is just so clunky as fuck. I agree with you. I love the look and idea of feral druid, it's just not good in application, rogue is more fun and guardian is my go to druid spec.
Here's to hoping feral has top end single target damage for BfA to give some reward for how annoying the spec is to play.. If it doesn't have top tier ST then I will be quitting feral for good. WoD expansion was a pretty good example of how feral should be tuned. It was the same bloodtalons playstyle, but at least we were rewarded with top 3 boss damage that couldn't really be matched aside from by arcane mage. We need our niche back, honestly, rather than being a repeat of legion being jack of all trades master of none and mediocre at everything. It's so annoying being outperformed by assassination though (a spec that is significantly easier to play than feral, while also being far more forgiving). I'm pretty disappointed on how assassination got the haste scaling on their bleeds and poisons when it should have been a feral only change. They absolutely did NOT need it and were doing more than fine.. Now they're looking ridiculously strong.
Ezm the "make us the single target masters" crowd has been the loudest and strongest voice in the feral community. I actually liked playing in legion because I could do well in most situations by playing well, and the shitty talents were not the strongest. But even then, playing on my alts, like fury warrior or enh sham or any rogue spec, or other dps...I felt like feral is definitely the oldest spec in the game, in every way. Fury and arms in bfa look amazing by comparison. I wish playing a savage cat felt more like playing a savage cat and less like playing fork truck simulator online. The point is, I'm tired of the "single target masters"-bs. It just doesn't work and doesn't fix the core issues, which is the whole spec needs an overhaul
with azurite armor traits outlaw has decent single target. during raid testing i get either number 1 or 2 no matter how my roll the bones turns out. especially with increased agility on single bone roll trait which can stack with each armor piece
The only thing I disagree on this video from your ranking is ret pala. They should be above dks depending on dps and are more flexible on a single target fight.
I’m spamming assassination rogue for PvP rn but plan on maining my fury for BfA release bc I have a feeling they will he even better when geared as they are a gear dependent class
Loved the vid but i'm sticking with my shammy...mained him not to long in legion dropped my dual speced war (was playing both prot/furry) and now blizz almost forgot about the class...when thrall was here they would have shammies be ok though...unfair....but i keep my hopes up and untill now tbh up to a +9 key i am doing rather well offering maybe less dmg but amazing utility....wish i will see a vid soon that sais shammies are back in the game or i'll be fishing the expansion away cause it's to damn hard to get invited
Sad to see how they ended up with some classes so slow and.. there is fury... Agree with feral. But i would personally put ret and arms there too. They all are just too damn slow with downtimes between spells or energy starving. Was trying outlaw the other day (he's not even on 110 (107 i think) :P - just never really got into rouge stuff) and i was pleasently surprised!. Might just get him maxed today. Thx for video.
I usualy want a class/spec that is challenging but the only ones that come to mind are Subtlety and Feral maybe? I dont find unholy complicated at all tbh. I probably just stick with ret for BFA.
Duryism While having fun is crucial, numbers do kind of matter depending on play style and Survivability of the character. A paladin is more likely to survive than a mage if the mage can’t kill the enemy before it gets up close.
Can't speak for the other specs but paladin for the bubbles and DK for the constant self heal death strike procs along with death grip seem to make soloing enjoyable for me.
FatBoySkin I like Paladin-don’t have a high enough character on most of the servers to produce a Death Knight , but which spec death knight are you referring to?
Frost is best for solo as it has 0 ramp up time pretty much, but unholy also has death strike and a pet which I suppose can come in handy in specific situations.
Honestly, I think the ranking at the end is pretty spot on. I've played all classes in alpha, beta and pre-patch and agree with everything here. For the first time since this game launched I'll be maining a rogue because they're that good and too fun, with warrior as an alt. Great vid, always good to listen to at work.
I think unholy dk is The best melee spec if payed good for mythik plus and ofc all Rouge specs are s tear as well 👍🏻 the rest of the ranking looks Fine. I still think that everything is playable if played with fun
Kuivia LOL no I don't think he is. I bet he thought garrote is a stealth only ability because I thought the same when first trying them out on the beta.
i just want to be clear that IM NOT hating his video but seeing him play rogue was a little bit painful, he was overcapping CP making him throw away lot of energy =S , probably he doenst main rogues.
never overcap CP, at 4 cp use envenom/rupture , mutilate grants 2 cp if you use it you will lose that 1 cp + if mutilate crists you will lose another 1 to 2 cp (of course always try to think that mutilate will never crit soo if you are at 3 cp use mutilate). if you are at 4 cp and garrote is about to fall off refresh garrote since garrot will never crit for a 5/5 envenom/rupture
Rogue makes sense to be at the top. There is no justification for putting plate-wearers or versatile classes (druid) at the level or above rogue for only dps. Survivability, utility, and style are all different matters, but rogue really does need to be at the very top for dps given the nature of the class compared to other classes. DPS is they do...
I have a max level DK (only ever played Frost), Shaman (only ever played Enhancement), DH (only ever played Havoc) also my main is a Hunter but I never really played Survival and my highest alt is a Druid but only ever really tank with him. So I have 5 potential Melee specs to enjoy in BFA (not a fan of Unholy so not counting it). I'm working on getting my Warrior and Monk from 85-110 so possibly another 2 melee specs (not a fan of Arms so not counting it). I'll most likely stick with range on my Hunter and tanking on my Druid so back down to 5. Enhancement might have to wait until 8.1 so down to 4 assuming I get Fury and Windwalker up in time. Hmm.. Frost, Havoc, Fury, or Windwalker... DH might have to take a back seat since it had a big spotlight in Legion. Might want a more mobile class so Frost might be out for now... Fury or Windwalker.. hmmmmm... I don't like either Prot or Arms but I do enjoy Mist and Brew... Welp, that settles it. WINDWALKER SHALL BE MY FIRST 120 MELEE SPEC Thank you for taking this journey with me. ....oh shit I could use my 110 boost on a Rogue.. HMMMMMMM...
Good breakdown, from my experience so far UH is soo much fun in BFA beta, they were harder to play in legion and were pretty boring vs Frost and Blood, but look like the changes in BFA WERE NEEDED cuz back in Lich #WHENDKSWEREGREAT I always played dual spec Frost/Blood and never considered UH
I'm not sure exactly what it is but I just don't find them appealing on a strictly bias level. Not really anything to do with gameplay or viablity. Just don't like the "feel" of them I guess? They feel gross with all those diseases and stuff 😂 I also get my fill of pets with Hunter as well so not a fan of ghouls. It's stupid reasoning but it helps me narrow down my options lol Frost and Blood are definitely more my style.
u know its funny, I didn't just wake up and say "lemme make an UH DK & screw Frost and Blood" it is a spec that has to grow on you took me a few months to get a "feel" for the spec, got to give it some time u not going like a spec right away. Not saying this to change ur opinion, but just giving u a heads up of how they started back in Lich until now. It def took me tons of practice to get their main rotation down, to date my most fun melee spec I played since Frost DK back in Lich is Havoc DH which was my main all through Legion, but now it will be 1 of my alts for BFA instead of Main...that alone speaks numbers for someone to be able to switch main since a whole XPAC, still DHs most fun Melee to me, only one I haven't tried is Hunters, which never appealed to me, because I never rly liked "Pets" as well =)
HHAHA... Loved your break down and my experiences is very similar. I have every class and spec leveled and ready to head into bfa. I really want to play survival but if it isn't middle of the pack or better then I do not see it being wanted in groups more then it's ranged option. Melee spec hunter needs to be the BEST dps option for hunters and even if it is people will still play ranged hunters for the simple fact that is it ranged. If survival is not high dmg then it will be rarely played. I am wondering just how many rogues there will be this expansion. With world pvp being a thing and the ability to get additional gear with world pvp. WARMODE! I see rogues becoming much more popular. I remember timeless island and everyone under the sun rolling a rogue to play who is the better assassin on the island. There were groups of 5 rogues and I see that being a thing again. It might even become world of rogue craft with a few warriors and monks tossed in and occasionally you will see one of the other melees
The funny thing was when you said something along the lines of outlaw isn't that good for single target but you were fighting a single target boss and were doing the most damage...
I was hoping they would kill the momentum playstyle in this expansion, but no, they decidedd to gut the more fun demonic playstyle instead by putting 2 "needed" talents in the same row so you are forced to pick one and forget the other and then some rows are useless. I was hoping they would bring back Gladiator stance for protection warriors. it was so much fun to play around with in WoD. I was really sad to see them remove it in legion. they did say they might bring it back. I really hope they do.
Ah, good to know my pally is still middle ground as it's always been lol. Sure there may be stronger picks, but there are worse ones. I really do like that we have Word of Glory again on Ret, and Inquisiton is nice to have as well. On single target fights i'm pulling the most damage and on AoE if I get lucky resets I can destroy packs with a Wake of Ashes and a few Divine Storms.
Feral is doing quite well for itself if you can stack haste sky-high thanks to Blizzard forgetting to remove the innate 50% bonus to haste from gear ferals get when they made bleeds scale with haste. This "melee Affliction Warlock" playstyle is an acquired taste however, and I do hope that Blizzard removes the haste bonus and rebalances Ferals around not having it because I personally prefer something a little more faster paced. They also offer nice utility with a battleres and Stampeding Roar. can shrug off minor damage by themselves by using Predatory Swiftness and Guardian and Restoration affinity and if a fight has particularly long downtimes for melees they can pick up Balance affinity and still deal a bunch of damage.
You guys need to take a better look at dhs in antorus I am third on damage. Maybe I’m just to good though lol. With immolation aura I almost have no issues with fury and no shortage of buttons to press. Master of glaive is also a must. Fel barrage was very really that great to be honest.
Revan cool your doing great while we still have tier sets and leggos. This list spplies more at the 120 lvl range when all that is gone and 2ndary stats are slim pickins.
You need a lot of haste to enjoy Unholy. The downtime at the moment is just awful. While you’re waiting to burst those wounds on mobs, others would have already killed them. You end up playing as a DoT spec.
I agree with Haste is a must to recharge runes waayy faster my 120 in beta has pretty good up time right now, but it could be waayyy more, so I need to stack Haste, Mastery then Crit. Right now Haste and Crit are tied n Mastery is my highest secondary stat
Playing as a dot spec is mostly relegated to spamming outbreak and then dropping defile and aoe scourgestriking everything. What they did to Epidemic in this xpac is a sin.
Watching this video i accidentaly got something in my mind to share - did you see that since WoD Blizzard is using already existing in games models for about 50% for next expansions? Just change few things and voila, there you are. E.g. Zandalari and most of new trolls (also building) are reworked models from Zul'Aman, Zul'Gurub, Isle of Thunder; Kul'Tirans are the same but for the Worgens Human structures.
I've honestly never really liked Hunters, I even disliked them. However everything I see about Survival makes me want to play one. I love being a melee ranged hybrid, i love traps and even tho i used to dislike pets I can really see the appeal in them now. Got a hard choice deciding on a main
Edwin Lopez right but when you have to play perfectly to do middling dps, and one mistake kills your dps it sucks. While DKs just go 1 2 3 and out dps you even if you play very well.
feral druid is nutz if u know wat talents effect wat.. should be able to constantly generate more energy then u need. talents that cooldown cooldowns.. n use luner strike with ur bleeds for fast dots to maximize attack durations... stealth in bleeds n dots of.. retreat back to stealth with king of jungle... n run restoration affinity, time those right. u sap like a rouge. exicute like a warrior n dot like a lock.. n all the while geting freecast heals to throw around like a healer.. n if u keep urself at full heath ur heals seep to ur nearest allies...
Ferals druids are NOT playing how they did in legion. Legion had the incarn build which was fantastic. Now you are forced to use the bleed build. The focus regen is also very bad atm as you use to have tons of it but now it is really slow. Nowhere close to the same spec as in legion.
I did the switch to Horde (going Mag,Har) warrior and im not regretting a single thing. It is so fun! i was maining monk before i needed change :D good luck in your travel
Think Ret Paladins can move op and be between rogues and warriors.. they are realy strong on both M+ and Raid.. and the dmg output are great on both AoE and single target.. been playing Ret Paladin since the ICC days, and they might now be stronger than ever (dont count the zeal exploit back then in on this rating)
They have smoothed the rotation a bit where its not so much just waiting for auto attacks. They are fun as hell to play. I'm still haveing a really hard time to decide tho
Arms warrior for m+ blasts into oblivion every other pack with aligned cds; going Arms myself into BFA and super excited so far. Lets hope no bullshit nerfs along the way =D
My worry is being rage starved. Nothing feels worse than sitting there waiting for an AA to get some rage. All they need to do is tune is a tiny bit more and it'd be just as viable and fun as Fury
This ended up a bit longer than I anticipated, but fear not! I come bearing the gift of timestamps!!

great video! Thanks for your insights. I am wondering if you could make a video about racials in bfa. A very interesting topic which no one else covered yet. Keep up the good work!
Thank you!
Time stamps earned you a like.
Great video :) but i have to correct you on something. Feral deosn´t play like in Legion^^" Since 8.0.1 you really can bin feral right meow....sadly :/
lol TY, allows us to make a more informed decision :D
Feral druids main selling point being that they can play something else?
Ouch! I thought we where supposed to have dropped the hybrid tax back in TBC
I hope, they will at least give us exceptional single target damage
we're talking about feral. With your logic it is relatable to almost every class.
Been playing feral for two expansions. Time to drop it. Very punishing play style if you mess anything up, the dmg is not worth the reward of difficulty, our aoe is horrible, and while I like a challenging, bloodtalons feels so stupid and makes no sense. RIP my feral days.
maccajoe I don't really see how that is relevant for someone that wants to play melee as a druid and isn't interested in tanking or playing caster.
I literally have every class never had a harder decision deciding
I steal Wifi too true!!!
Same, dude. It's so hard to decide!
I'm having the hardest time deciding, too. Was dead set on Warlock, but despite the smooth gameplay Demo is rock bottom DPS, Destro is rather underwhelming outside of it's 3 min cooldown, and Affliction is a little micromanagement-y with the top build requiring every active DoT/talent or taking a 15%+ dps loss and it looks shard starved at 120.
rip english language
Then go with the one that can double-jump.
for all those videos i'v watched , i cant hold it any longer, just want to say GOD! YOUR VOICE!
16:28 that graceful usage of disengage made me happy
7:27 - 7:58 best healing gameplay
Healers, you're welcome to help dps if there's downtime. Standing around like a goober isn't going to make the world a better place.
Yooo buddy didn't do anything productive for 30 seconds
In final fantasy 14 dpsing as a healer is super important. Pretty much every healer is required to dps whenever possible, so you will always see a healer dpsing in a dungeon or raid.
Whenever there's downtime i just use smite + holy fire, get that double holy fire stack going yfm, got chastise too, just throw that shit out too why not
Doing non M+ dungeons with a Blood DK in a nutshell.
My main is fury for 14 years I love it..thanks for the video.Great work!
Just made a fury warrior and i love it
NalteX I have 7 110s and dropped everything I was doing to main a fury warrior for bfa haha he's lvl 95 rn
Same! Though I'm still between fury warrior and ww monk for my main spot
I love both Warrior specs but definitely going with Fury, as Arms currently feeling a little rage-starved (Although I will be maining Arms for pvp).
I dropped my FDK because the changes kinda killed it for me, Theres no flow.
If the "piano" playstyle is for you, but i want my fingers intact
pressing 4 buttons is not piano...
Survival hunter feels surprisingly pleasant to play. Considering I also like MM and BM, that makes hunter my main for BfA. Outlaw Rogue is also amazing, will be my first alt. And lock will be my second, since Ill vave enough mobility with the first 2 toons.
Tentacles lol im thinking the same! 3 classes which have improved so much since legion
Bruh I am also taking Outlaw Rogue and lock as my alts *fist bump*
I like the 5% extra damage for the squad as well.
should I just switch over to ret when i want to dps? would love opinions.
Fury looks fun. How well is the spec suited to War Mode and PvP. (battlegrounds)?
Ranking:
1. All rogue specs
2. Arms/Fury, Windwalker, Frost/Unholy
3. Survival, Retribution, Havoc
4. Enhancement
5. Feral
IMO, for M+
1. Rogue all
2. Arms, Unholy, Havoc
3. Windwalker, Fury, Enhancement(decent utility w/ totems, tremor)
4. Ret, Frost, Survival,
5. Feral
but its pretty close depending on what content your going to be doing.
I just listed his ranking guys 😂
garygsp3 you can’t base anything just from the numbers you see in prepatch
Cheers.
WW monk for me...I just love it :)
Agreed, great ranking and video.
Did enhancement shamans have really good survivability back in the day? I use to play a couple years ago and it seemed like no one could kill me. Am I just misremembering?
@SignsOfKelani which addon are you using for the resource/power frame belwo your character. Custom Weak Auras config?
I really enjoy your videos, looking forward to your next.
Do you have every Challenge Artifact Skin?
A bit of wisdom for you all... play what is fun. Don’t worry about what’s the best or the worst or flavor of the month.. play what you have the most fun with and go with it. I’ll never forget back in TBC when I dropped my shaman because they got nerfed and everyone was over them... biggest mistake ever deciding to main something else. Don’t decide to switch because of that. Play what you enjoy!
ChuaChewa if only it worked that way. This youtuber could be colaberating with ithers to make sure the masses all chose the same class. Prople need to remember their individuality.
Until you can't get into a M+ save making a group for yourself because you're not boomkin. #7.3.5comeback->gutter
GL with real raiding playing your "fun" class lol
It's more than a little unfortunate that over a decade in and they still don't make the classes relatively balanced; it's almost enough to make one think it's done that way intentionally so people are always switching or making new characters and catching up.
If someone plats ret or feral, they are only screwing themselves, been that way for years. So many better classes/specs to play
Good vid, K!
You clearly didn't play druid in a long time.
how do you make your hp/mana bar appear below your character?
DH might be a bit easy rotation but man do they move! I just love their mobility and for running around the world questing they will be no1 in fun with both double jump and wings!
kinaost I used to think that but it wore off after a while for me. I like them as an alt don't think I could play them as a main.
This is the only reason why I will be maining a dh in BFA
Dh has changed a lot in BFA. Their rotation is complicated to master and is unforgiving.
Kenneth Harvey imI kinda enjoy that so much. Not a faceroll class at all. Havoc just wrecks shit and is very enjoyable.
Hello kelani , can't decide what to lvl up I'm between warrior or paladin 😏
Guys are the requirements for zandalari troll race unlock time consuming?
I don’t agree that unholy pet has even close to the amount of utility, at the most it applies wounds in aoe and can interrupt a stunnable target
Hmm, i didn't see him using garrote at all out of stealth. Did he forget he can use it all the time XD?
warrior or dk for duels or arenas?
It should be noted that demon hunters bring a 5% magical damage taken debuff on the target, and monks bring 5% physical damage taken debuff on the target. This isn't restricted just to the DPS epcs though, but still worth mentioning. And warriors of course have a 10% AP buff.
Returning player leveling an Enh as a main (still lvl 50ish) and I'm seriously considering to reroll either as a Lock for ranged or DK/Warrior for melee. No freaking clue what to select...
DiBuff go warlock!
Does anyone know what the damage meter he uses is? ive never seen one update that quickly
Oh the assassination rogue part you didnt have Garrote on your bar is it not usable out of stealth anymore or useless or removed or what's going on there :) ?
No I think hes just bad
He’s just really bad. He didn’t use it once and it was extremely irritating. He was also grouped with a Ret Paladin the used Divine Storm on a single target fight for some reason.
Feral just hasn't been the same since they took away Claws of Shirvallah after WoD T^T that was my favorite talent from any class during that expac, and I really enjoyed the playstyle it brought.
What add on does he have that shows health and all that in middle of screen
Does anyone know wich addon he uses for HP/Resource/Power bar under his toon???
Henrique Costa that is the standard blizzard UI. You can switch it on under intetface/personsl ressource display i think
Florian Nather thank you. I didn't knew that. There is so much stuff in the game options that we we can't find em all 😂😂😂
The good part it is that Ret, Feral and Enhanc do pretty well on BG's.
Do we know the Order in which he makes the Class Reviews? I'm looking forward for the Rogue
Yuukai from what I've been hearing all rogue specs are viable and fun depends on you. They're all different enough imo
Yup.. Bye feral.
Spamming epidemic with unholy dk is so satisfying.
with azurite armor traits outlaw has decent single target. during raid testing i get either number 1 or 2 no matter how my roll the bones turns out. especially with increased agility on single bone roll trait which can stack with each armor piece
The only thing I disagree on this video from your ranking is ret pala. They should be above dks depending on dps and are more flexible on a single target fight.
Why is enh in the fourth tier? My damage seems really great and the air is amazing.
This is a really good video, but I’m wondering what is the best class to play solo?
The one that's the most fun for you. The numbers don't matter if you're alone and having fun.
The thing I miss most about legion ret is the ranged divine storm. God it feels bad the way it is now
Honestly, I think the ranking at the end is pretty spot on. I've played all classes in alpha, beta and pre-patch and agree with everything here. For the first time since this game launched I'll be maining a rogue because they're that good and too fun, with warrior as an alt. Great vid, always good to listen to at work.
just say you're playing it because its the flavor of the month...
Crowley Grimsbane lol no. I've never been a fotm type of gamer. They got Rogue and Warrior dead on in BFA. Fun mechanics > meters.
Everyone that says fun over meters is literally ass and should probably just stick to pug random bgs
Yes, we should all play what puts out the best numbers, fun doesn't belong in video games.
I think unholy dk is The best melee spec if payed good for mythik plus and ofc all Rouge specs are s tear as well 👍🏻 the rest of the ranking looks Fine. I still think that everything is playable if played with fun
I usually top dps charts when dealing with larger groups as a Ret Pld. Divine storm is all I need to do that sadly.
Dude I like your videos
10. You
9.cant
8.rank
7. Melee
6. Classes
5.based
4.on
3.only
2.damage
1. Survival Hunter
the demon hunter chaos strike attack animation changed recently ??
@Signsofkelani can we get a rerank for 8.2
am i blind or did he not use garrote on assassin?
Kuivia LOL no I don't think he is. I bet he thought garrote is a stealth only ability because I thought the same when first trying them out on the beta.
i just want to be clear that IM NOT hating his video but seeing him play rogue was a little bit painful, he was overcapping CP making him throw away lot of energy =S , probably he doenst main rogues.
Jaramillo9888 if you're at 4/5 CP as Assassination should you cast Envenom/rupture or Mutilate for 5?
never overcap CP, at 4 cp use envenom/rupture , mutilate grants 2 cp if you use it you will lose that 1 cp + if mutilate crists you will lose another 1 to 2 cp (of course always try to think that mutilate will never crit soo if you are at 3 cp use mutilate). if you are at 4 cp and garrote is about to fall off refresh garrote since garrot will never crit for a 5/5 envenom/rupture
I think theyre on the right track now with survival. it feels really good to play.
WINDWALKER SHALL BE MY FIRST 120 MELEE SPEC
Thank you for taking this journey with me.
....oh shit I could use my 110 boost on a Rogue..
It's stupid reasoning but it helps me narrow down my options lol
Frost and Blood are definitely more my style.
u know its funny, I didn't just wake up and say "lemme make an UH DK & screw Frost and Blood" it is a spec that has to grow on you took me a few months to get a "feel" for the spec, got to give it some time u not going like a spec right away. Not saying this to change ur opinion, but just giving u a heads up of how they started back in Lich until now.
It def took me tons of practice to get their main rotation down, to date my most fun melee spec I played since Frost DK back in Lich is Havoc DH which was my main all through Legion, but now it will be 1 of my alts for BFA instead of Main...that alone speaks numbers for someone to be able to switch main since a whole XPAC, still DHs most fun Melee to me, only one I haven't tried is Hunters, which never appealed to me, because I never rly liked "Pets" as well =)
Thanks for your input, who knows maybe down the road I'll try to look passed the things I don't like about Unholy's style and give it a shot :) 👍
Survival is great. :)
I'm maining Arms in BFA. My brother was a Feral main in Legion and is remaining a Feral main.
How about two-handed windfury shamans? I've heard the proccs kill mages in one hit!
MrMhtmht
Good 'ol times.
Warriors were not so great in Legion but I’m so glad they changed them in BFA! WARRIOR BOYSSS
This is just one random guy based on his skill/gear/playstyle. His decision isn't absolute haha, people calm down.
They also offer nice utility with a battleres and Stampeding Roar. can shrug off minor damage by themselves by using Predatory Swiftness and Guardian and Restoration affinity and if a fight has particularly long downtimes for melees they can pick up Balance affinity and still deal a bunch of damage.
the 50% bonus haste is what's giving us a faster paced play style at all with more energy regen.
En antorus yo soy primero en daño con dh tambien
Ichi Glenndevis survival looks amazing now!
Now people are going to bandwagon the class i stuck by loyally
Will everyone switch to warrior in BFA or will BFA be the expansion of the Rogue? Find out on the next episode of Dragon Ball Z!!
haha!! Sometimes it feels like that with blizz making people wait until something is fixed.
Nice one! I was waiting for this one :)
Ferals numbers are super low at the moment
DillcoInc. Numbers change means very little
Edwin Lopez right but when you have to play perfectly to do middling dps, and one mistake kills your dps it sucks. While DKs just go 1 2 3 and out dps you even if you play very well.
Played Feral in 3.3.5. Tried it in legion again when I got back and this is just sad. The owl cat was cute thou...
feral druid is nutz if u know wat talents effect wat.. should be able to constantly generate more energy then u need. talents that cooldown cooldowns.. n use luner strike with ur bleeds for fast dots to maximize attack durations... stealth in bleeds n dots of.. retreat back to stealth with king of jungle... n run restoration affinity, time those right. u sap like a rouge. exicute like a warrior n dot like a lock.. n all the while geting freecast heals to throw around like a healer.. n if u keep urself at full heath ur heals seep to ur nearest allies...
Great vid, Kelani! Now, how old are you??
Ferals druids are NOT playing how they did in legion. Legion had the incarn build which was fantastic. Now you are forced to use the bleed build. The focus regen is also very bad atm as you use to have tons of it but now it is really slow. Nowhere close to the same spec as in legion.
Ahhhh!! So stuck between WW and Fury! Both looks great for pve and open world pvp!
l Kataclism l Both are fun to play. Good luck choosing one though :D
I did the switch to Horde (going Mag,Har) warrior and im not regretting a single thing. It is so fun! i was maining monk before i needed change :D good luck in your travel
Fury warrior is the best hands down. It's the most fun to play and the damage is solid af.
Enhancement are #1 now with the next Tier set according to the new logs.
To skip to the rankings and not watch a guide for each class: 23:58
Didn't selwen make this video not long ago?
Think Ret Paladins can move op and be between rogues and warriors.. they are realy strong on both M+ and Raid.. and the dmg output are great on both AoE and single target.. been playing Ret Paladin since the ICC days, and they might now be stronger than ever (dont count the zeal exploit back then in on this rating)
So DH is what the ww monk was in wod, as predicted! :-D
Arms Warrior is a blast love it
They have smoothed the rotation a bit where its not so much just waiting for auto attacks. They are fun as hell to play. I'm still haveing a really hard time to decide tho
Adam Alward I'm rolling DH tank for Mythic plus and my warrior for PVP and probably some M plus also....
Arms warrior is shit since they put hamstring back on gcd.
