Nikkei: Japanese-Peruvian Cuisine Fusion || Eat Seeker
Вставка
- Опубліковано 7 лют 2018
- In the late 19th century, a small population of Japanese people immigrated to Peru to build a railroad. As the Japanese people’s lives began to intertwine with the Peruvians, so did their styles of cooking. But don’t confuse this with fusion: this Japanese-Peruvian cuisine is, in fact, a whole culture known as Nikkei. Sen Sakana is here to bring this style of food to the people of Midtown Manhattan.

Ají Amarillo! Peruvian food is the best! 💜💜💜
Great. We love Peruvian food
“It’s not a fusion of two cuisines: it’s their culture” how do you mean lady? Don’t insult the Peruvians because it started all IN PERU with PERUVIAN INGREDIENTS and by PERUVIAN authentic food plates and people, not only japanese people so it was a collab/fusion between both
The Japanese did never had like “Aji amarillo” in their cuisine or other typical Peruvian ingredients to use. So if it was not for the Peruvian ingredients and authentic food there was not even a plate to eat. But for me the Peruvian food and people get extra credits because their cuisine is unique and there is nothing like it :).
Let’s be thankfull for the wonderful and hardworking Peruvian farmers that gives us the best of the best to cook the most delicious meals in the world!
In 20 years this is the most exciting food style I’ve ever seen. It’s beautiful.
Peruvian cuisine plays in big leagues: France, Italy, and Spain.
I've been to Sen Sakana, dine at Matsuhisa regularly and at the moment would place Nekkei as my favorite cuisine. I enjoy it so much, I've planned a trip to Peru.
So Machu Picchu and the Peruvian flake will have to wait until I get my fill on my Nekkei plate!
Peruvian food is the best of the best of latinamerica:
-Peru
-Mexico
-Ecuador
-Colombia

Best of the best
peruvian food has a big weapon that other latin america foods.they know it but don't know how to use it at the right moment.
la Mejor fusion mundial
En Perú se como muy rico
Very enjoyable. She was wonderful to listen to.
Out of all of these episodes I've watched, I think this is the one I want to try the most.
Wow, just amazing!!!!
My favorite two kind of foods together 😍
Nikkei is Peruvian cuisine. That food does not exist in Japan and it took over a century for generations of Peruvians to develop in Peru. Calling it Japanese-Peruvian would be equivalent to calling for example “ramen” Chinese-japanese or Korean-Japanese. Not to be taken lightly because of the importance of “wording” being an important part of cultural identity.
That is totally right!
"Nikkei" is a Japanese word referring to those of Japanese ancestry.
it is a part of peruvian cuisine but it was develop by japanese inmigrants in the 19 century as it was said in the video, and until now here in peru the most representative people of that kind of cuisine style are indeed japanese descendants
@@yo2trader539 All countries in the world have ancestors
this food looks amazing

Don't mess with my nigiri. But damn this version looks ridiculously delicious. 👍
Peruvian food tops the Mexican food in every contest that exists, it is the best food in latinoamerica and I am not Peruvian, it is just the harsh truth and people that is involved in this food world knows that, if you want to eat delicious for a cheap price go to Peru

"japaneesy"
She is wrong. Nikei is not Japanese food with Peruvian ingredients. Nikei food is a fusion created by Peruvians.
I'm sorry, did she say Escoffier was "hundreds of thousands of years ago"? Dude died in 1935. First Japanese turned up in Peru literally in the century before that.
i wonder if she knows what nikkei means
rtswift do you?
"It's not a fusion cuisine" Japanese-Peruvian Cuisine Fusion lol
*Just imagine a fusion between Indian-Native American cuisine and United States cuisine, oh wait ! it doesn't exist* 🤷
Nice video. Just be aware that the brazilians are trying to steal the term nikkey, saying that it is any combination of japannese and any other food, therefore, nikkey also exists in Brazil. That is an utter lie. If you have a mix of food callnit differently, don't ride the wave other people have worked hard to develop.
