So when i launched after following the video - ALL of the map's pre-placed grass/meadow textures disappeared. everything I had manually placed remained, however.... Thoughts?

64 crops sounds great.... the most I've seen is 42 (on ricci maps) .... Which files should I copy to edit the standard "Elm creeck" or "X" map? How do I set the map name to "x by hsayar" on both the opening and mods screens?
hi there,, 1. this only preps the map for more that 10 extra fruits.. (enhances the standard maps fruit channels to handle another 34 plus extra fruits above standard. so 64+ fruit capability) 2. you cannot edit the base game maps you will break the game, you need to make a copy of any of the 3 base game maps (follow my video on making your own start map) 3. to set your map name you edit the moddesc.xml in there are normally (should be) 2 sections, first one is for your map icon, second one is the maps title in the load screen.
When i click and drag the files into the converter, I get a 'C:\Users\myname' is not recognized as an internal or external command' message and there is not actual conversion.
Absolutely correct, take the grle converter and place it in the root of your c drive in its own folder. As suggested, no spaces in folder names. This always work. 😊

No the dlc should work fine, this is for guys who woukd like to add more than 10 extra fruit to their map. The game by default allows 10 extra fruits. Unless your map has fruit that clashes with the dlc. In that case you will nedd to remove the fruit that clashes from your map.i3d and other xmls.

For me it was i had to mutch subdirectorys c:/users/Tom ect ect ..... place the map in C:/FS22_HuronCountyMI and it worked for me. Best of luck to all
step 2 i can add 11 more fruits + the 10 of your previus (tutorial add 10 more fruits 😁😁) make the change to i3d file but then when i open this in the giants editor stange things happen... crops are imported be where there is grass on the map (nex to road's ectra one off the cropstate off one extrafuittype is imported aaaaaaaaaaallllll over the map... any idees about this? best regards,
@@mrT-c9g if you watch the video, i explain the order of fruit needs to stay as is and thebnew fruit need to be added below the existing ones in the fruit multilayer section. So move those below and recreate the gdm file as per the video. 😀👍
So if grle does not create the New files. Is that cus one have to operate in admin mode or .? ok so i tried a couble of times more now with write protec off on the folder, grle still says that the file is not recognised, yes it is the cmd i am droppin the file on , so i cant remember what i need to unlock of setting on laptop to get grle to recognise the file.??
its a common error for a file that is either corrupted or it has an invalid channel count. you can try creating a savegame, then copy the file you want from the savegame and see if that will work.. to test try another maps file or one of the ingame maps to make surer the converter is working..
Hi Bob, I'm trying to do this for Edgewater Saskatchewan but when I try to open the map.i3d in GE it crashes. I've set all the values correctly and changed the density files to gdm and the infolayers to grle in note++ Any help would be greatly appreciated.
sure my friend, if your map crashes, check the editor log at users/(your windows username)/appdata/local/giants editor 9.04/editor_log.txt it shouls show in the last lines why it crashes
@@FarmerBoBonUA-cam thanks for the help. Turns out the is was the zip file for the map was in the same folder as the unzipped folder. There's no errors in GE and I can load and play the map but it still has "Error: addDensityMapHeightType: maximum number of height types already registered." in the game log.
Glad I checked the comments, had the zipped and unzipped file on my desktop, just moved the zipped file to a folder and it worked, I have a feeling this is where most people are running into issues
Sorry to hear that man.. it means you got a problem with the gdm, either you did not rename the extensions in i3d to .png or you still have the originals in the data folder together with the pngs. Or you edited the wrong sections in the terrainheight or foliagemultilayer. If one digit is wrong or one step is not 100% done it will not work even just a space where it shouldnt be causes a problem. 😊
Hello. I have a problem because when I change xml numbers in i3d, the map won't load in the game. Maybe you know what the problem is. I did the same thing 4 times as in the video and it's the same every time
@K.P.Modding_PL ok what happens when you open your map in the editor? Is there anything in the log? Ps.. you cannot have the .png and the .gdm in the folder you must either rename or delete.
Hi there this procedure involves multiple copy and paste items in various xmls as well as the map i3d and if you make one mistake somewhere there will be problems. if your map doesn't open in the editor it means that you have a problem in your map i3d. to find out what the problem is you need to open your user profile in Windows Explorer so go to users, appdata and in local the under Giants editor the version you have, check for the log file, there it will give you an error what the problem is
I started following this after your 4 video series and I got stuck at the first test in giants editor. after converting my 2 files and changing the numbers, as best I could, as some of the numbers didn't seem to match up, I tried to test it and I just got 2 errors "DensityMap: Failed to load image". I'm not sure what I am doing wrong here, I did join the discord, but even with help from there, no clue yet.

Yes this is a common error, it means your gdm file is not converted. Your old gdm file has 12 channels, it need be replaced by a new one. I shiw this steps clearly in the video so just follow them precisely, remember to rename ur gdm file in the mapi3d back to gdm and delete the png from the data folder.

Even starting from a fresh extracted copy of the map multiple times. The conversion to png and update to the fileIDs is working because I can successfully regenerate the gdm files by opening GE WITHOUT changing the terrainDetailHeight or FoliageMultilayer values. It only fails with the new values. Pasting lines here for reference: If you have any other suggestions, I am all for trying it. Appreciate your time.

With the density height lines in the i3d calling to png instead of gdm or grle, could that be the reason for the cells too large or whatever that warning is with all base game maps? Or would that be something else? Awesome work on the videos. I have relearned so much watching your videos.
My pleasure,.. no it is totally ok for it to be .png it is only when you want to do changes and conversions where this is a problem. That is why i always say leave the gdm and grle in that correct format. Those warnings are because of issues in the game itself, i basically always just ignore them as it will not effect gameplay. You can actually test it, the editor and game will accept the .png as a grle or gdm file. Even if you have the extension of the file .png so it doent really matter. But for sake of simplicity, i like to keep things simple.

The maps I have only are standard fruits, but would like to add others like Carrots, cabbage, onions, etc I have been unable to find videos that give this information.

if the map doesnt start again it means you have a problem with tyour density files, one or both of them, most likely, check the editor log in your c drive under users/appdata/local/editorVersion "log" text file, the very last lines normally show the issue :)
Ill check it for you, but remember this video and the process only opens the ability for the map to add extra fruit. Not the actual fruits...If you are struggling doing this extremely simple procedure, you are most definitely not going to be able to add the actual fruits as that is by far a most difficult and advanced process.😊

Have a look at my video on adding more fruit, the new fruit needs to be below the existing ones, if you mess wiith the order of th3 existing fruit you will have issues with fruit missing and in the wrong place. If this is not the case then i will sugguest th3 following, remove everything you added, mutifruit as well as extra fruit capabilities, or restore a backup of your map before you added these. Then do the 64fruit capabilities first, check everything is ok and then start adding your fruit.
@@FarmerBoBonUA-cam I have the problem as well and don't know why alle the grass around the fiels is gone except for grass on fields. Also I don' know why alfalfa and clover are the only fruits which don#t work. It says that they are not at growth.seasonal.fruit.

Hi there, i dont follow. Has the map been converted and not working? Anyways, it is not my map, so i can only do private conversions for guys to play privately.
If you can get atleast 20 guys that are on board with the map for console i can do a conversion. But these guys including yourself need be serious and willing to support the map conversion

my giants editor close when try to open map.i3d, after make frist changes in map.i3d with Notepad
Yeah you made a typo, if there is a problem in your i3d it does that, to find it drop your unzipped map on testrunner and fix the i3d.

Normally that happens when you drop the file on the exe, that will not work, drop it on the .bat file, which is the actual convert command. 😊
The folder you put the grle converter in can't have any spaces in the name. If it has spaces it absolutely will not work.

Sure you can add crops using my mf pack downloadable from my website. Just follow the video on that too.
When you use my MF pack, The only directory that needs changing is the ones in the map.i3d pointing to the fruit xmls

Normally if th3 map doesnt open ingame it will tell you why in the error log. Check there, fix the errors 😊

IDK what im doing wrong but it wont open Editor. Ive followed the video to the T on multiple maps and it just crashes the editor

I followed each step of the of the video and double check the i3d in notepad++ but ge keep crashing
you have an error somewhere, check the game log. probably a mistake in the map.i3d you can also run your map through testrunner to check for errors

Sadly if I do that first step.. all grass etc. is gone.. only first stage os there.. no bush, no flowers..
you cannot do just one step, you need to follow and do the entire video, then recreate both gdm files as in the video.
