I played this game 15years ago... I played it again and finsihed it today: these "old" games were truly AMAZING, storywise and the gameplay too. I don't even mention the wonderful OST . Just good memories, totally worth my time ^^
Xenogears is actually the 5th episode from a 6-part saga. At the end of the end-game credits the title "Xenogears" appears with a "V" behind it, representing the roman numeral. It is believed as well as it making sense that Xenosaga eps. 1-3 were all prequels but due to copyright and other issues between SquareEnix (formerly Squaresoft) and others involved, Xenosaga became its own project. A beautiful book titled "Xenogears: Perfect Works" has everything you would ever need and want to know abo
To this day I question what would the next ep be about? Only two points I could see. 1. Fei and Elly settle into their new lives and fei as the only person on the planet with gear and how people want to use his weapon but he rather keep out while they rebuild society. 2. Same as 1 but with another space colony coming after 1000 plus years when the eldgre crashed it sent a signal that took long to reach and they came seeing this planet and how fei xenogear shares the same power reading as the Zohar so they want it to restart desus or that there is a space war occurring and they brought their space war to fei planet now.
episodes 1-3 were never designed as "prequels," yes there was copyright issues, but even before production began they cane out and said xenosaga was set on the same universe but it wasn't part of the xenogear story at all
@@ironshadow89 It's a good question as Perfect Works says absolutely nothing about Episode VI, other than "it's pivotal". I think Fei would de-activate Xenogears so it wouldn't be used for destructive purposes, but maybe it gets stored deactivated underground in case it's needed for an emergency. Then one day they find it's missing, and the story goes from there...? It would be cool if Ep VI could involve multiple planets to bring the scale of the story to that level again. It would also be cool if the story was told from later reincarnations of Fei and Elly to keep that Cloud Atlas type of theme going :)

@TheShockMaster yes you're right. The original ending was written in English, just goes to show that not everything has to be constrained to one ideal. When writing, you're delivering the emotion and ideas, not fancy words. The Japanese version of this song has a different main idea than the English version. The closing words of the song "All of the time in the world spent with you, may be good, may be worse"

I've been listening to this song for over a year now and it just accrued to me that there might be a Japanese version. I'm gonna go ahead and give myself a high five for finding this ☝
This game is 10/10 and story was out of this world epic. There will never be a game that is equal to this or that is better 14 years have passed and i still have not seen better game than xenogears.
This version is good in its own way, but I still think the more fitting version for the game is the english version. (on a side note, Yasunori Mitsuda used the same singer of Xenosaga ending song english version for his OST of Xenosaga Episode 1)

Best storyline in a game that I ever played.I sat playing hours,I couldn't wait to get off work to find out Fei's fate.The music is legendary.The whole game blows away any FF or similar type rpg.I can't believe there is not a part two?

This version is not the original though, it was written later. The English version was written for the game and used in all releases.
