Xenogears and Xenosaga need remasters on modern consoles. People need to experience these games first hand, they do not deserve to rot on ancient hardware
This song is beyond amazing, it really feels like the whole universe is on the line and you're the only one who can fight back against this catastrophic universe ending final battle. The Xenosaga games are incredible and it has some of the best video game music.
It's really sad that Xenosaga had to end this way. Seriously, this game was epic. Epic story. Epic musics. Epic (well, well done for its time) graphics. Epic characters. Epic cinematic. You could easily fall in love with those characters. Everything was deep. Xenosaga deserved a better fate.
The story was the only thing I didn't enjoy about the series. I get they tried to make it epic, but if you stop to consider, some of the plot points are simply nonsensical. E.g. Every character seems to suffer amnesia and just happens to regain their memories when the story needs to advance. Individuals from ancient times could create amazing technology (on their own btw) whilst in the far future entire governments are unable to replicate this and resort to fighting over remnants. Super powers and abilities are just introduced willy nilly whenever it suits the story - Canaan vs Voyager, Gaignan vs Yuriev, 2xShion summoning Gnosis, chaos 'teleporting' Gnosis to Lost Jerusalem etc etc. The list of plot holes just goes on and on..
@@strife55 i made a long series of videos explaining the story in chronological order starting from the beggining of the universe. it took hours uppon hours of Wiki diving and reading released files by the developers but the story did make sense in the terms it set. the story itself wasnt bad it was just horribly told, mainly because they had to rush the ending and didnt get to expand on some concepts they wanted to. the whole story was written out before the first game even finished but the fact that the story of the second game was actually meant to be the last third of the first game tells you how much they overshot their expectations of how much they could do in one game.

This battle caught me by surprise. I never used Chaos, despite like him he was not as strong as other characters like momo or Ziggy. Yet you absolutely need him for the “best friend” skill for this battle if you want to survive fatal Zarathustra attack. I remember having to go back and train him up a little bit to be able to beat the final boss with a different party I was used to. Such a nice memory. Xenosaga 3 is such a great game.
I cried at the end of the game. This song makes me remember everything, especially at the climax of the song, its like the song of a Goddess of Epicness. I can't even describe it....
I remember playing this game years ago on a PS2 I used to have. Now, I wish this game would be remastered that included all three games as a collection. It's sad that a remaster was talked about but later on got shot down because of a projected profit analysis. These games are epics that should be brought back to light but may never happen. One can only hope...
Well Square will eventually run out of Final Fantasy games to milk dry and maybe they'll actually do this. (They won't I'm still waiting on fucking Konami for Suikoden fucking 6 but I digress).

I love to imagine,based on certain spoilers from Xenoblade 3 Future Redeemed, that the fight against both this game and that game's final boss respectively are happening at the sametime.
I prefer the idea that XC3 as a whole (remember, it's a single instant) happens during the Omega boss fight Alpha and Omega, thus, are fought simultaneously
I can clearly picture in my head that last boss fight where this song play, as if I had just played the game yesterday. And I played this game like 15 years ago, so this song is that memorable.

I remember when I found a ton of images that were cut from the original games. It was so confusing because I saw Shion on Second Miltia but with all of the Xeno 1 graphics. Back then, we really needed to search for answers and eventually it was as you said... the content was cut from 6 to 3 games.

And "Xenosaga Freaks" for the PS2 that was release in Japan Only. But yeah. Originally it was supposed to be a 4-5 games. But the Sales of Xeno #2 was horrible, due to the rush to release it for the publisher. Episode 2's graphics was subpar and the recording of some of the Characters (like Momo) sounded Muffled. And lets not forget the Stock system in Episode 2, it was way too complicated. And people bypassed it, by over leveling their characters and carrying healing items to help them in the game.

Having reset the world a thousand times or whatever, everything became a chess piece to him, humans lives lost all their value, and basically it all turned into his entertainment. He has near zero emotions because even if he originally had them, they are long gone.
Yuki Kajiura! I knew this style sounded familiar.... she also did the music for the Kara No Kyoukai movie series, and a lot of the same stylistic touches are present (leitmotifs repeated in different styles, big choral flourishes, etc.)
I still consider this what the story was supposed to be leading up to Xenogears. Because we all know deep down, thats what the original intention was during the development of Xenosaga I
As unfortunate Xenosaga ended up being, it still managed to be such a phenomenal game that had everything I could ever ask for. Such an unforgettable experience.

Agreed. I really enjoyed the story it provided and since I play games for the story I put up with the battle system. Really glad I spent some time and leveled Shion from lv.25-40 at the solo part where she's leaving the Dammerung. Episode III is hands down the best entry in the series, imo.
And yes, they were made by the same team. Monolith Software was one of the teams working in Squaresoft. Most of the team resigned and decided to work with Namco. Monolith couldn't recreate Xenogears' storyline completely because Squaresoft still owned the rights to the game. So they decided to "re-imagine" Xenogears, using some of the same concepts, terms and names. Thus they created Xenosaga, a "re-envisioned" Xenogears but not connected to the original.
i sometimes wonder how Wilhelm was at the beginning of his existence. Was he always this monotone emotionless puppet master, or was this a consequence of living too long for any form of consciousness to feel any sort of empathy
The way I see it, Wilhelm simply just exists to prevent the destruction of the universe. He‘s nothing more than a part of nature if you break it down. chaos/Yeshua on the other hand is (to my understanding, at least) one part of the Messiah. He has a personality because he directly interacts with and grants humanity knowledge and wisdom. Wilhelm and chaos/Yeshua are so drastically different because they‘re both entities with great powers but exist for two completely different reasons
some parts sound like a remix of 'storm and fire' but I kinda like how an artist can just grab parts from epic songs to make another epic song. PS: the part that sounds like storm and fire starts around 1:25
Xenogears is indeed "Episode V", but that means is the fifth episode in the Xenogears Universe. The Xenogears and Xenosaga universes are different, they are NOT connected by plot. For example, Xenogears Episode I was the creation of Deus and it's rebelion. Episode II was the recreation of the human race by Deus, Cain and the Gazel Ministry. Episode III was the Zeboim civilization. Episode IV was the war of Solaris, Shevat and Nisan. Episode V is Xenogears, the story that we actually play on.

Man, Xenoblade's story is fantastic. Though to be fair, I haven't played any of the other Xeno games. Xenoblade is now my favourite game of all time, taking over games like Majora's Mask in my list. The world is absolutely massive and the story is amazing. It also has my favourite soundtrack in a game ever. Pick it up.
I will never forgive nintendo, or the creators of Xenosaga for this, for promising this pain, promising it, by ending the Xenosaga series earlier. Thats what this song is, its Promised Pain.
This game was awesome the only problem that i saw was the fact that there was no blood (the miltia scene with young shion holding on to what i think is blood makes little sense because of this). I've played through the game about 20 times and the cutscenes still amaze me i never skip them (even those small cutscenes with the dialogue bubbles)

@Joehop777 oh yes, that i already know, it was more a rhetorical question than anything else, but it was so good, the graphics were excellent for episode III, and the music and atmosphere..... too bad the sales didnt match the awesome potential for a budding, and what would have been a grandiose game series... did you notice how the female characters were becoming more scantily clad as the series progressed? :)

Thank Bandai for that. They assumed really young kids were going to play a game with lots of blood and a complicated story. However, you can fund uncut scenes with the blood. It's not that hard.
I wonder, if we start a petition for the continuation of Xenosaga, and reach a good number, will they consider making the last 3 episodes? I'm all for the continuation, but as long as they do it well. If they are to release a rushed product, I don't want it, because it would ruin such a perfect series.

Shion and Momo have abilities that revive at 50% automatically when KO'd. I ended up using them instead.

Man, Xenoblade's story is fantastic. Though to be fair, I haven't played any of the other Xeno games. Xenoblade is now my favourite game of all time, taking over games like Majora's Mask in my list. The world is absolutely massive and the story is amazing. It also has my favourite soundtrack in a game ever. Pick it up.
Xenoblade story is kinda simple tbh, Xenosaga and Xenogears story are way better (and also in gameplay)
The battle system is what made Xenosaga II quite fun, and not just a "regular ol' RPG battle fight grind".
I will never forgive nintendo, or the creators of Xenosaga for this, for promising this pain, promising it, by ending the Xenosaga series earlier. Thats what this song is, its Promised Pain.

@LiuHry I think I couldn't agree with you more. This game was perfect in every way. PS3 games should use this game as an example.
This game was awesome the only problem that i saw was the fact that there was no blood (the miltia scene with young shion holding on to what i think is blood makes little sense because of this). I've played through the game about 20 times and the cutscenes still amaze me i never skip them (even those small cutscenes with the dialogue bubbles)

Xenogears probelem show though. Well sort of. I love Xenogears to death but the problems they had really showed in Disc 2.

@Joehop777 oh yes, that i already know, it was more a rhetorical question than anything else, but it was so good, the graphics were excellent for episode III, and the music and atmosphere..... too bad the sales didnt match the awesome potential for a budding, and what would have been a grandiose game series... did you notice how the female characters were becoming more scantily clad as the series progressed? :)

@Phalanxification That was unnecessary. The way that post was worded they could have meant "i used to have this game, it sucks [THAT] I don't anymore" meaning they did like the game but they don't own a copy any longer.
Thank Bandai for that. They assumed really young kids were going to play a game with lots of blood and a complicated story. However, you can fund uncut scenes with the blood. It's not that hard.

I wonder, if we start a petition for the continuation of Xenosaga, and reach a good number, will they consider making the last 3 episodes? I'm all for the continuation, but as long as they do it well. If they are to release a rushed product, I don't want it, because it would ruin such a perfect series.
