Paul Stanley had cracked a rib on that tour. Halloween night we went to see all three and unfortunately Kiss didnt play. Winger played a longer set and kicked ass. We got a 15 dollar credit as we went in to use at the vendors...
When I saw Kiss' on Hot In The Shade, 2 times in June of 1990, Danger Danger and Slaughter opened. I saw Winger and Bullet Boys open for Cinderella in I think '89, Long Cold Winter tour.
@@giraffesareselfish9563 You're lucky you got to see Winger supporting them, when Kiss came to the UK after, they just brought Danger Danger. It was strange as they came to Europe first for the Revenge tour, but brought the stage set from the Hot in the Shade Tour. Pretty cool though as I loved the Sphynx.
Great video. Kip is such a great bass player, it's a shame you can't really hear his bass. Surprising, because with a guy that good you would think his bass would've been pumped up.
@@fmbighair it was 1993. Can't remember much or his name. He was from England. He knew Michael Jackson's publicist and said he could get Michael to come down and visit.

Practically the entire concert is entirely live... completely live vocals, drums aren't even triggered. The only backing track I hear is the horns on Easy Come, Easy Go! With all the talk about backing tracks nowadays, this is the proof that it can be done without tapes and still sounds great.
The energy is awesome. The question is was it necessary? I think their music speaks for itself. The stage antics might have contributed to the damn Mike Judge death sentence. Mostly Kip. I think the record company and manager encouraged it.
They definitely are NOT using any backing tracks . Winger never has and never would this band is as talented as they come and one of the best life acts of all time , tight and sounds just like the album If not even better !
Sounds great to me... just regular live vocals without tapes, the way they used to be. I think people nowadays are just used to seeing singers run and jump around without the vocals missing a beat because they're coming from backing tracks. 😀
I was 15 the first time I saw winger... A friend and i flipped him off.. He was 25 to 30 singing about 17 year old girls.. Gross. Reb wasted his talents here.
The lyrics to seventeen were a product of the time as was many 80s songs .. shit man the Beatles sang about having sex with 16 year old way back in the day .. seventeen itself is a badass and pretty complex tune to play especially on guitar and that solo ..??! Forget it man that solo is brutal just a face melter! Reb always stood out to me in a pack of talented guitar players of the late 80s and early 90s with his phrasing and melody . Top that all off with his super smooth legato tapping and he’s the ultimate player !
Hopefully you also flipped off KISS for Christine Sixteen, the Beatles for I Saw Her Standing There, as well as Steven Tyler, Jimmy Page and Ted Nugent for ACTUALLY grooming underage girls rather than just singing about it.
Winger is a far superior band than kiss! Stronger players at every single position! Especially in the guitar department as Reb Beach was always on another level
Actually winger and slaughters worst headliner…. Kiss were has beens with old heads listening to them by this era. The hair bands carried the ticket sales
Kiss, Winger, Slaughter - That was a fun concert!! Loved it!!
Most people I went with were there to see Slaughter and Winger…. kiss was kinda out of it by then. We left halfway through Kiss set.
Paul Stanley had cracked a rib on that tour. Halloween night we went to see all three and unfortunately Kiss didnt play. Winger played a longer set and kicked ass. We got a 15 dollar credit as we went in to use at the vendors...
I LOVE Winger THEN AND NOW...Kip is awesome....Fan for 31 years :)
What a voice for a live concert. Amazing how Kip Winger sounds. One of the most underrated bands of all time.
Always one of the best bands from the 80's!
What’s fucking great concert and time to be alive!!!
Thanks again Kip my friend. B
That drum set is kickass🤘🏻. Reb Beach is a fucking master on his guitar 🔥🎸
I was in the 7th row at this concert. It was awesome!!
Who did they tour with at this show?
AWESOME KIP WINGER
AND REB, ROD, JOHN, AND PAUL
THANKS FOR UR MUSIC

This whole show is so nostalgic 🎸 ! Kip and Reb are awesome as always! Thanks a lot for the person who shared this video here! You are lovely 🎶 !!
This is Awesome! Thank you so much for sharing. Phenomenal back then and still to this day.
Great gig, this was supporting Kiss on their Hot in the Shade Tour

@@giraffesareselfish9563 Ah, I get ya. I miss this period of metal.
@@philwheatleyconsultant absolutely. I was lucky enough to see most of the big bands in the late 80's and early 90's.
Cool you got see Winger. I'm fan to.
Love the energy! Very cool trading of solos jam part with Paul Taylor an Reb Beach starting at 26.15!
Good call. For a while I thought paul was just air guitar.
Love the hair ❤❤

thanks for sharing this awesome video
it sounds so good, what a band
Big fan of Winger. One of my teachers at Colorado Institute of Art worked with Kip and Fiona (I think) on a duet they sang together.
would love to hear more about this!

Opening for KISS on their Hot in the Shade tour.
I couldnt think if it was HITS or Revenge. Thanks for clarifing that
@@rocknrollcowboy1620 Hot in the shade, vixen was there too, I saw them, great concert
@@saulmartinez2114 The line-up in Detroit (Auburn Hills) was Slaughter, Winger, and KISS.
@@detroitmoose I saw them at the Palace with the Bullet Boys and Cinderella.
Background vocals are canned obviously. Went to the Palace for many concerts. Too bad it’s now torn down.
I think this was outside of the Palace at a Carnival. If it was the one I was at.
LOVE WINGER THESE GUYS ROCK SO DAMN SEXY
I saw them with Cinderella in "88 or "89. Went with a friend as a joke but had a decent time. Was more into Cinderella than Winger I must say...
Hi, do you have this concert in better quality? can trade it for another video. Thank you
연주 외모 모든게 다 fuckin' amazing!
Who were they opening for?
Kiss
Who are dju.! Where you come from😀
Would have been dope to have an actual drum-cam. I don't think drummers got that much love in this era. Not as much as guitar shredders.
The energy is awesome. The question is was it necessary? I think their music speaks for itself. The stage antics might have contributed to the damn Mike Judge death sentence. Mostly Kip. I think the record company and manager encouraged it.
totally unnecessary i agree…i can understand a little running around but this stage sprinting is too much
yeah bad for his vocals too, out of breath and just screams
Apenas se escucha la guitarra de paul taylor. Por que pasa eso?
Good show I just they didn’t us the backing tracks

Sleazy and Rude...

SETLIST?
I’m the simplest girl….Kip sings and my panties fly off. 😅
Thank God for Nirvana and Alice in Chains....
Thank God for heroin..
this y lead singers should play 2nd rhythm if anything at all, vocals terrible
I was 15 the first time I saw winger... A friend and i flipped him off.. He was 25 to 30 singing about 17 year old girls.. Gross. Reb wasted his talents here.

Probably Kiss's worst opening band.
Kiss was an absolute dogshit band anyway.
