Love Whitesnake and all they did, great show, but Vai is always my guitar god!!
Вы посмотрите, какое удовольствие сам Дэвид получает от зрителей и от своего пения!!! Это Невероятно!!! Он уважает свою публику и любит ее . Это невероятно ❤
I have always respected and admired David Coverdale for being very nice, polite, honest and respectful to his fans. Even at that time in 1990, when his private life was falling apart and God knows what was happening inside his heart and soul, he has never shown a sign of disrespect, bad mood or anger in front of his audience. His level of professionalism and sincere gratitude to his fans are just incredible. There are hundreds of "stars" with a fake smile, but only one with a pure heart, wonderful music and beautiful voice - Sir David Coverdale! ❤❤❤
It’d be understandable if he did because of how much he was struggling at the time. But he held it together for the fans and the music. Whitesnake never disbanded because they disliked each other, they did it because it was the right thing to do for all of them. That’s one of the best things about them.

Lo veré, ojalá Vai y Sykes vuelvan a Whitesnake, por cierto, a ver si sale un video musical de Sands Of Time y también uno de The Deeper The Love versión 2020
All that i like so much at this concert is........Steve Vai knows about his skils but he respects the leader of the band and he just play as a simple member...thats why he is one of the best guitarists of the planet .!!
I have vivid memories of huge anticipation for this gig. As a teenager I sat at home listening to this broadcast live on radio as I recorded it onto cassette tape! With my jaw on the floor from start to finish.
I just HAD to click on this mutha….what memories this brings back of an amazing day. So glad I was around in the 80’s and 90’s, my decades. Thanks ever so much for uploading this gem 💎🤘
What's crazy about this show, is this was back when folks were just getting a taste of Vai. He didn't stick out as much as he would NOW..... and so this band was so rounded and solid. Perfect band. Singer is one of the top 10 of all-time in Rock. GREAT CONCERT!
lol are you kidding? Vai was the biggest guitarist in the world at that point. He was on the cover of every metal mag, musicians mag, rock press, the lot. He was at his absolute peak here in terms of his fame. It was mentioned in one magazine that the biggest draws that year at Donington were Poison, due to their previous lack of UK appearances, and on top was Vai, he was the main draw. EVERYBODY wanted to see Steve, without him the Slip Of The Tongue tour wouldnt have been half as successful. Coverdale was a smart man and knew having him there would boost things.
No. Vai had just come straight off the back of his David Lee Roth gig, had just released Passion and Warfare, had the biggest selling Signature guitar of the era if not of all time with excetion of teh Les Paul...(and is seen here playing the Steve Vai Universe which spawned the craze for 7 string guitars), had got Joe Satriani signed and was on the cover of every guitar magazine with interviews and tabs..not to mention his appearance in Crossroads at the same time.
Amazing Whitesnake Live at the Donington show in 1990🤘!! Damn Steve Vai is awesome and he rocked too 🎶 I liked Steve's solos and those of his Ibanez 🎸 guitars! They were and are damn beautiful in my opinion!
Tommy alderage is the best drummer in that category of hard Rock. He just keeps getting better and better. In this era and line up of material Alderage is irreplaceable, the best guitarists come and go but Coverdale pays him his prop's to stick around! (Hahaha STICK AROUND) That's punny!
The pinnacle of Whitesnake concerts. I'm damn impresed by the high quality and the originality of each song's version. That's what we expect from this top band and killer line-up. 🥁🎸🎸🥁🎸 Love the duo Aldrich/ Beach too. But Vai! 🤩🤩 And Slip of the tongue is and absolute AWESOME album. Whitesnake ruuuuuuuules!🤘🤘🤘🤘
Most fans of Whitesnake before this album would disagree, but I love Vai's work on this album. His playing on the album is actually my favorite from his entire body of work. This was a time before he started abusing his whammy bar with all those constant flutters.
I was thinking this today... this era was his magical moment. Maybe it's his italian DNA that is giving him a subconcious hardon for Paganani and being fluid and artistic and violin-like, I dunno.
@@elvis5138 Legends, every one of them. In their prime every one of them was untouchable. I mentioned Plant because he was the one who inspired this style of vocals.
Come for the nostalgia of the late 80's early 90's, stay for watching Steve Vai rolling around the stage with his guitar!! Total guitar over indulgence!! The good old days!! Vai, Vandenberg, Sarzo, Aldridge and Coverdale!! Talk about an all star band!
This Whitesnake lineup literally was a DREAM TEAM, a SUPERBAND!!! Coverdale: Awesome and powerful voice Aldridge: Definitely a unleashed BEAST on the drums Vai: A superior technique Sarzo: The most good looking bassist I've ever seen Vandenberg: Incredible style and technique
Excellent individualities for sure, but the result is a far cry from the early Whitesnake. Moody, Marsden, Lord and others had that bluesy touch that Vai , Sarzo never had despite their great virtuosity. That's only my point of view of course.

It is one of my favorite concerts, with an incredible play list full of successes and to talk about the line up, incredible everything, Whitesnake is one of my favorite bands and totally my generational band where I learned to recognize the interpretive quality, I idolize each Some of the members, each of them has more than 40 years on stage, I think they are wonderful and fortunate people. Thanks David for making dreams come true and bringing these enlightened ones together to be by your side, from Chile far from the truth, thank you very much!
Love it!!! I was lucky enough to see this tour. And even more so, I saw Whitesnake open for Jethro Tull on the tour when their first live album came out. Live in the Heart of the City. And the 87 Tour. Love every incarnation of the band.
I love that bassist Rudy Sarzo never lets either guitar shredder upstage him, although Steve Vai certainly gave it a wildly running try at the end of his Passion & Warfare 7 string shred-fest.

His level of professionalism and sincere gratitude to his fans are just incredible. There are hundreds of "stars" with a fake smile, but only one with a pure heart, wonderful music and beautiful voice - Sir David Coverdale! ❤❤❤
Couldn't have said it better!👍👍
It’d be understandable if he did because of how much he was struggling at the time. But he held it together for the fans and the music. Whitesnake never disbanded because they disliked each other, they did it because it was the right thing to do for all of them. That’s one of the best things about them.
What a hurricane of a opening concert , so tight playing and coverdales mighty powerful voice

Lo veré, ojalá Vai y Sykes vuelvan a Whitesnake, por cierto, a ver si sale un video musical de Sands Of Time y también uno de The Deeper The Love versión 2020
I am very excited about it🤘🤘🤘🇬🇷💜

Best singer of all times, best band of all times!, thanks so much for this gift
Haced una Gira Ibérica de Whitesnake
All that i like so much at this concert is........Steve Vai knows about his skils but he respects the leader of the band and he just play as a simple member...thats why he is one of the best guitarists of the planet .!!
That's nott why he's the best but it is nice to see him not being an arrogant ass
Hired gun
Hired machine gun.
I was there. I was 16 and it was my first gig never bettered. Whitesnake, Choirboys, Poison, Thunder, Aerosmith what a line up
👍
Me too and I was 16 also.
Thunder were underrated for sure
I’m assuming Aerosmith was the headliner but do you remember the order of appearance for this show?
@@devinw5150 Whitesnake was the headliner. At that time they were bigger and more popular in Europe.
Thank you Tommy Aldridge for pounding us into the Eternal Unseen Musical Realm with you awesome drumming !!
I have vivid memories of huge anticipation for this gig. As a teenager I sat at home listening to this broadcast live on radio as I recorded it onto cassette tape! With my jaw on the floor from start to finish.
What a great memory
I also recorded it live from radio on a cassette tape as a teenager! 🙂
Slow and Easy. One of the best silences in rock history, indeed. Sweet version here.
Still the best day of my life ❤❤❤❤❤
Best super group and super group album ever. I never get tired of listen to it.
I just HAD to click on this mutha….what memories this brings back of an amazing day. So glad I was around in the 80’s and 90’s, my decades. Thanks ever so much for uploading this gem 💎🤘
David Coverdale is one of the best rock vocalists and composers of our time. We wish him good health and further creative success. David, handsome!!!
Also Joe Elliot ❣️

The Ultimate Line-Up for me personally! Saw Whitesnake Live in the mid-80s - FANTASTIC!
Saw them on this tour in Dortmund ( Germany ) ... Adrian and Steve Vai ...Never be forgotten!!
What an epic period of Whitesnake. I remember absolutely being stoked back in the day when Vai joined.
Thank you David.
The 90's golden years.
Thank's forever.
Love you forever.
Amazing Whitesnake Live at the Donington show in 1990🤘!! Damn Steve Vai is awesome and he rocked too 🎶 I liked Steve's solos and those of his Ibanez 🎸 guitars! They were and are damn beautiful in my opinion!

I was there. It was terrible.
@dare d Sorry bout that Toby....but the best man won!
Bwawahahaha!!
One of the best rock concerts ever
What a performance this was from Whitesnake on the night. One of the very best headline shows i saw at the Monsters of Rock for sure.
Tommy Aldridge is a total beast. A monster. A drum freak.🥁🥁🥁
His drum kit screams for mercy! But he just bangs on them more. 😄
GOOD BUT HE AINT NO NEIL PERT.
@@bompoifarang1035woah there easy they have totally different play styles
The pinnacle of Whitesnake concerts. I'm damn impresed by the high quality and the originality of each song's version. That's what we expect from this top band and killer line-up. 🥁🎸🎸🥁🎸 Love the duo Aldrich/ Beach too. But Vai! 🤩🤩
And Slip of the tongue is and absolute AWESOME album.
Whitesnake ruuuuuuuules!🤘🤘🤘🤘
Oh my Gosh! That's an incredible performance!!!!
I was there. Totally amazing 🤘
Steve Vai leaves his unique finger print in every band he plays with! Excellence in motion.
So proud to say me Mam was in this crowd! And had a huge influence on me 😍😍
Tommy Aldridge is a live wire, amazing double bass work. Another amazing talent out of Mississippi!
One of the best men that came out of Yorkshire!! Thank you so much for this just what we needed. Love from Yorkshire England 💖

I am listening to the Whitesnake from the very beginning of the band,
I love them ❤️❤️❤️ very much 😍😍😍🇬🇷🙋💜💜💜
Especially I love David Coverdale, I have seen the band live many times in my country ,,💜🇬🇷💜
David being a GOD amongst men....not many singers could hold a candle to him in this era. Pure power!!!!! Whitesnake 4 Life!
He was unreal. If Robert Plant didn’t exist, Coverdale would have been the greatest rock singer of all time.
@@shredseeker8420 While Robert is a legend. Nothing compares to the high notes of Steve Tyler and Paul Stanley.
@@elvis5138 Legends, every one of them. In their prime every one of them was untouchable. I mentioned Plant because he was the one who inspired this style of vocals.

Holy hell Tommy’s a freakin BEAST on the drums.
Incredible lineup. .. good times
90's were the best time for rock music 😊
You must be joking. It was all over by the 90s.
@@asensibleyoungman2978 yeah 90s rock is completely different from 80s.
btw: we need new rock idols
Come for the nostalgia of the late 80's early 90's, stay for watching Steve Vai rolling around the stage with his guitar!! Total guitar over indulgence!! The good old days!! Vai, Vandenberg, Sarzo, Aldridge and Coverdale!! Talk about an all star band!
I witnessed this tour at Irvine meadows CA . Great show!
Ну супер концерт!
Мои любимчики!
Постоянно их слушаю.
В альбомах,сборниках.
Но концерт лучше!
Вся музыка звучит по другому.Кайф!!!
Спасибо большое! N.
This was my first Donington, best gig ever. 5 bands that were on top form and jimmy page to top it off. Day I’ll never forget!
This Whitesnake lineup literally was a DREAM TEAM, a SUPERBAND!!!
Coverdale: Awesome and powerful voice
Aldridge: Definitely a unleashed BEAST on the drums
Vai: A superior technique
Sarzo: The most good looking bassist I've ever seen
Vandenberg: Incredible style and technique
Vai does not begin to compare to Sykes.
Excellent individualities for sure, but the result is a far cry from the early Whitesnake. Moody, Marsden, Lord and others had that bluesy touch that Vai , Sarzo never had despite their great virtuosity. That's only my point of view of course.
@@mmmcosta 100% Agree, Vai couldn't hold a candle to him.
couldn't agree more
Marcelo melgaco. Thank you. Sykes is beast.Vai was way too thin for this

David Coverdale and band sounds so good on this. I love it when the crowd knows the words.
WOW! Super impressive, stellar musicians, every one of them. Extremely entertaining. Thank you Whitesnake.
wth, i love steve vai and i know steve vai is member of whitesnake. but damn this is my first time hearing whitesnake song, this is so rock!
David Coverdale has the lungs of a whale and a voice of an angry angel.....this line up of WS was magical.
Wow! Adrian's guitar solo on Slide It In, especially the last few runs he did!
I think he would have done great on the Slide It In album (Coverdale even asked him back in 1983). But then we wouldn’t have had John Sykes on 1987 ;)
40:32 a rebel rockstar playing a legendary solo with just one note
Aldridge drums, Vai guitar, Vandenberg guitar, Sarzo bass, Coverdale vocals. All is good in the world.
Если бы в мире было все так же хорошо, как этот Концерт!
I was there, Epic Whitesnake at Donnington. Wish it was still going.
I love that bassist Rudy Sarzo never lets either guitar shredder upstage him, although Steve Vai certainly gave it a wildly running try at the end of his Passion & Warfare 7 string shred-fest.
Saw them on this tour, Just mind blowing musicians on that stage!
One of the best Whitesnake's era, of my living time, 80 and 90's.
