Picked the 43x up today, all black, 485.00 at local gun shop. Was hesitant at first buying it, so I tried it a few times with some different manufacturers and came back to the 43x.

My first gun was the Glock 19, but found it too large to carry. I now use it for home defense. My second gun was a Taurus PT709 Slim, but eventually replaced it with a Glock 43X and have 4,500 trouble free rounds. I've been using the Shield Arms S15 mags for the past 1,250 rounds, also zero issues. I installed Ameriglo i-dot sights, which I love, and replaced the trigger with an Overwatch Precision PolyDAT duty ready trigger. Love it; fun to shoot. It is a good carry option, but still not my EDC preference due to year round warm weather. My carry preference is actually the Taurus Spectrum. I have two Spectrums, both with over 3,700 rounds and zero problems with professional defense ammo. I alternate practicing with them, one for practice and the other for carry. They are fun to shoot, not snappy at all.
They also have the shield arms 15 round mag which are great mags.

Yes! I very much agree with your assessment. I carried the 19 for years then later the 26 with a Xgrip grip extender. So I had 15 rounds in a compact but fat little gun. The 43X seemed like natural evolution to me. I'm quite happy with the 43X. Think I'll stick with it.

I carried a Glock 19 (and a 23) for a long time. No matter what holster I used, it was never a comfortable arrangement. I picked up a Glock 43X last year and only recently shot it for the first time. Wow! Much better than my 43. I check shield arms and you were right...still out of stock. I'll keep trying. Thanks for the overview!

The 43X mixed with my Hawg holster is the most comfortable ccw configuration I have ever experienced so far. I LOVE my all black 43x with Pro Talon grips and Hackathorne sights. Its so good. I call it my lil punk. And I LOVE my Hawg holster. Best holster ive ever used. Great video.
They make 15-20 rnd mags for it too

One thing about the weight of more rounds. I carry the Arx Inceptor 65 grain 9mm. Or the Nov X 65 grain rounds. Using the shield arms 15 rd mags. It's as light or lighter then. Carrying 10 rounds of my favorite hollow points. And less recoil for a flippy gun. Win win in my book. Ive shot them thru different materials. And have no doubt they would do the job. If needed. I have the 43 and 43x. Love them both. Great overview btw best I've seen on UA-cam! 👍

Does it make sense to get the 48 and 43 because you can also make it into a 43x if you wanted?
Hello. The 43 slide appears to be the same and fits in the G48 frame. There is a slight difference with regards to serrations. Thanks for watching!
The serrations and the beveled front of the slide would be the only difference.
Any thoughts on picking up the 48 for winter carry.....then when late spring rolls around buy a 43x slide only to put in the frame? Maybe save money....but probably just buy the 43x too. Haha
If you found a great deal on a slide, that’s always an option!
Or, if you already own a G43, just get the G48, and in the summer, use the slide of the 43 on the frame of the 48.
Or just get a 48. But the other options stated are great ideas.
43x + S15’s = all day every day.
Agreed. Can't beat it when it comes to capacity in a relatively small size when you compare it to the larger Glock 19. I'm still hoping Shield Arms find a way to release a 10 round flush fit mag for the standard Glock 43 though for those of us who want ultraconcealability with high capacity.
Glock finally realized that no one wants a fat ass gun. Nor do they want to carry the extra 6 to 8oz.
Basically if you have normal size hands then the 43x makes the
43, 26 and 19 obsolete for carry. Especially if you have the Shield mags which I do.
43x, P365 or Hellcat

Greg shut up don’t get made & hate cause not everybody got baby ass hands like you 😂. That being said I have G43x & G17. Can hit with both easily. They both have their uses I don’t consider G17/G19 etc. too big AT ALL. Unless you mention those long ass competition guns

Availability of guns in general has been challenging right now. I check in with my local gun shop every week, and I call fairly often. If you develop a good relationship with one they will often notify you when they receive something you want. Just make sure you are prepared to buy it when they call or they probably won’t do it again.

Slim, sexy, but long grip.
This gun sucks ! 10 rounds unless you get the shield arms 15 round mags that are unreliable
