Bought my first firearm this year. M&P 9 2.0C. What a lovely gun. And my son's M&P Shield is just about as good. Shot my friend's Glocks. They just don't feel as good. So with many rounds down range and the finalizing of my LTC, it's time for my first EDC. After handling and trigger testing Sig, Springfield, Glock 43x, and the magnificent M&P Shield...I ordered the 43x. It didn't feel as good as the Shield to me, but it felt pretty good. The bigger grip, narrow stature, and larger capacity sold me. Especially knowing that there is an aftermarket 15-round mag that is still flush with the mag well. The bad sights weren't an issue as I ordered night sights anyway. I really didn't think I would ever be a Glock owner. But here I am.
Larry Vickers said it best to me- you probably aren’t going to be looking at your sights when you’re in your first gun fight, but you need them when you practice to develop the muscle memory that will allow you to make hits without consciously aiming. Sucky sights mean sucky practice.
Here in CT, the 43x makes a very good choice for carry. Rather than being a true sub-compact, it's a compact with the 'wasted space' taken out of it since we're limited to 10-rds in the mag. Hit's a nice sweet spot in terms of smallness and shoot ability. I originally smirked at the idea but after picking one up and handling, I think it's a really good rendition. Just wish they'd make it with a black slide as I hate that color combination.

Bought after holding it in store, shopping for G19. My first Glock purchase has become my go to gun in my continuIng search for the perfect conceal carry. My search is over.
I sent my G48 frame off to 5bgunworx for stippling and I bought two 15 round magazines from Shield Arms and now my G48 is my favorite carry gun of all time. 15+1 in a lightweight ,comfortable package. Love my Glock 48
I'm not a runner but when wearing gym shorts I carry a Kel-Tec P-32. At less than 10-ounces loaded with 7 rounds of 32 you can barely feel it in the pocket.
There's a study of 1700+ shootings and the .380 ACP was the division line for all the calibers because all those of smaller caliber weren't nearly as effective and the 380 had success rates basically equal to higher calibers.. Food for thought.
You’re the only online reviewer to critique the problem I’ve had with Glock stock sights. You can’t see all of the ball when when the tops of the front and rear sights are level with each other. Sad to hear it wasn’t just a G17 Gen 3 problem, and we still have it 2 generations later.
If you need protection from dogs and other critters while out running, carry pepper spray and/or a squirt gun filled with ammonia. That and a little Ruger LCP should pretty much cover every typical scenario while out running.
I don't know what it is but I totally agree with this. I've had plenty of medium to full size Glocks but when I saw this in the store it was love at first sight. Then when I held it, the thing was perfect. I bought it for my wife for Christmas and I couldn't put it down so I bought one for myself. I pick it up more often than my Dan Wesson specialist commander. Every time I pick it up I try to see how fast I can field strip it and put it back together. I am addicted to this pistol!
I think a few of these went out the door with the wrong front or rear sight installed. I know at least two other really good shooters with the same issues I describe, but you’re also not the only one that said the sights co-witness and line up POA/POI.
My dad walked into his LGS and put his hands on one and REALLY liked it. Then he went home and talked himself out of it and just put some SI EMP +2’s on his G43 mags. It’s not for concealed carry (thanks MD) so he’s ok with 8+1 for range time. But he basically said the extended mag bases had the same affect of making it feel better in hand. I haven’t held a G43X so I’m interested in your thoughts on this T&B. He did take the extra $ and buy ammo so I’m happy with his choice haha.
I just bought the G43X today, I'm going to put talon grips on it, ameriglo tritium I-dot sights, streamlight TRL-6 laser/light combo and S15 15rd mags from shieldarms.com for the perfect EDC.
Damn i changed my mind in this completely. The feel in the hand sold me. I bought one on Saturday it will be my running mate. Yep it is slippery so stippling and maybe a comp are in the future and like u said then it might be the perfect glock.
I stick with my G17 (Gen4 Frame- Gen3 Slide/Upper), as the most accurate & reliable glock for me, Accuracy & Reliability are the key factors which minimize innocent victims during stressful defense situation, and with a proper IWB holster that fits my body, it is pretty much concealable for my EDC, just my 2 cents.
Shield Arms sells 15 round mags for this gun. I'm going to also order the metal mag release since the mags are steel. You're excitement is legit. I absolutely love this pistol. I ordered mine with night sights and a black slide. I'm not into silver.
My 43x is at Glock for the second time, because of that silver slide. That silver slide is horrendous, I am mystified that they gave me a brand new (different SN) 43x and pretty much the same thing happened and I sent it back again.
1 year later. Purchased a 43 with 10 round extension. Couldnt live with my pinking hanging out and the 10 round mag defeated the purpose of the design. Picked up a 43x recently after SA finally released their 15 round mag. Current setup is TFX Pro sights, Talon applied grip, Pryamid trigger and match grade threaded barrel that adds about an inch in length over all. Threw a LaserMax slide spring laser on because I could. The trigger allows for faster smoother pulls. In the end I am shooting 4 inch groups at 10 yards as fast as I can pull the trigger. Granted I am an excellent shot to begin with and this is with top tier ammo ( Gold dot) but this gun shows my weakness and not any on its end. The only down side is with the mags. They didnt have any of the coated in stock and the ones I got do not eject on their own when the clip is empty. The only thing I can think of as to why you might carry something different is if you wanted to carry a different caliber. Otherwise I dont think it gets better than this.
Check out Talon grip. It’s definitely a game changer when it comes to a cheap way to making the handle a lot better. It’s a molded grip tape. I’ve got it on my G-19 gen 5. It made it so much more nice to hold and fire as well.
Just got my G43X. Like every other Glock I immediately changed the sights for night sights and it is now a great gun. I was carrying the G26 but with an extended mag so I had a pinky finger rest. I think the G43X is about the perfect size for my hands. Fingers fit on the grip. took it to the range today and it shoots great. I plan for it to replace my G26 as a summer carry. Cooler weather when I can wear jeans I will carry G19. My 26 is now a second house gun as I can use the larger mags in it and it is still comfortable to shoot. I am really surprised how much lighter it feels in the holster, I was not expecting so much of a difference compared to the 26.
The G-43 with the plus 1 butt plate cures three problems, #1 better grip with room for the pinky but the better reason is the easier draw that but plate provides, if you can't easily pull it out fast every time, what good is it, the other is of course 7 +1 for carry is fine, carry an extra 7 mag and you are at 15 when 2 or 3 rounds is usually plenty for self defense. Keeping the gun lighter and smaller but easier to draw, the G-43 with the +1 butt plate is my favorite carry gun. BTW, more rounds is also more weight and that can diminish the times you carry and that's not good. Don't make your carry gun into something it's not supposed to be. Switch out the sights too.
love my G 43x with Shield Arms S15 mag. Sold my G19 and got my 43x the day my 15 round mags was delivered. Now my main carry pistols are the 43 and the 43x! 43x is a true Swiss army knife of a pistol!
for printing i wear an eyeglass soft case with a carry string around my neck with a long slim flashlight hanging on it. Its small and lightweight but people generally are looking at my glass case and hardly look toward my hip. I carry between 2:30 and 3:00.
I’ve never been a Glock guy. I’ve been carrying a Sig or a 1911 for a while. Recently I tried the 43x and I love it. It feels like I’m not carrying anything and is easy to shoot. The trigger isn’t bad but I might get an aftermarket one at some point. Great gun though, it’s now my EDC.
If Glocks are so Perfection. Why in the hell do y'all get them stippled, swap the grip module with an 80 lower, change the sights, the barrels and the triggers? By the time you're finished you have a FrankenGlock. Guns like the Shield 2.0, P365 and P365 XL and the Hellcat come out of the box ready to go.
Yes, there is something about this gun that made me just dump $1,000 into it to customize it with a holosun 507k, true precision axiom slide, true precision threaded barrel, Apex Trigger, Vickers extended slide stop, S15 mags. I don't know what's gotten into me? It's like this gun is got me hypnotized🤣🤣🤣 excellent video by the way!👍
I just built a pf9ss.The only thing that I added was a +2 extension for improved grip and a little more capacity.Couldnt be happier with it.The X was just too much like a 19 for me to justify buying one.
LOL!! Accidental open carry at Targe' Botique'... Surprised one of the Brier creek ninnys didn't have the manager get you out of there. I understand your point but I'll always support the OC folks in NC. I've done it once in a while but not on a regular basis.
I've had a 43X for over a year. It shoots 12" to the right from a rest and rubs the bottom of my trigger finger raw after 50 rounds. It's getting traded as soon as the dealers has something worth trading for.
@@MacD2029 I was very disappointed too. I liked the feel and size of the gun but it just wasn't right. I have two other Glocks that work (23/27) fine. I traded it back in April for a Springfield Armory SA-35.
Yes I plan on getting one of these. I need the grip length with arthritis having a full grip makes all the difference. I carry a shield now and only use the eight round mags. But this pistol should have been out before the 43. Feels way better in the hand than the 43 even with the mag extension. Nice review I believe once you carry this a few times you'll like it better than the nineteen.
I love my glock 43x i can carry that gun all day long. And it'd be comfortable and it fits in my hand so well.I used to carry the glock 26 and I loved that pistol, but me having big hands, my pinky hung off the bottom, the glock 43x has a Glock 19 grip and the same magazine capacity as a Glock 26 but thinner profile. I love it. It feels so good in my hand and I didn't think I would like the no finger grooves, but actually I'm glad Glock took away the finger grooves. This is probably the best Glock I've ever held. In my hands, and it is my everyday carry pistol
The best feeling gun for me is the sig p365xl by far! I swear God himself made that gun specifically for my hands. Hell screw the holster I'll just carry it with my hands instead.
I bought the 43X a couple of weeks before I bought a G48. I find that the G48 is a better option really. Please take time to shoot/review a 48! I think you may be surprised. The 43X is clearly the more popular of the two but in my humble opinion the G48 is a superior handgun. Great review as always.
Ya the Sig does have a couple things a glock doesn't such as sights oh and that self destruct mode. Most people I know that like the p365 don't shoot them. Mine made two trips for repair one just before a 1000 rounds and the second with about another 2000 more. It was sold after it's second return.

Bought after holding it in store, shopping for G19. My first Glock purchase has become my go to gun in my continuIng search for the perfect conceal carry. My search is over.
You made some great points! Thanks :)
43x is my go to. 42 for that ultra light summer carry.
I carry a Glock 26 Gen 4 with plus 2 mag extension and I will never look back. 12 plus 1 of pure love.
It's the best for concealed carry but I wouldn't prefer it over something larger for an open carry scenario.
Dont know about the best, the 26 is smaller and pop a 32 rd boom stick in...
You’re the only online reviewer to critique the problem I’ve had with Glock stock sights. You can’t see all of the ball when when the tops of the front and rear sights are level with each other. Sad to hear it wasn’t just a G17 Gen 3 problem, and we still have it 2 generations later.
It was fixed for the Gen 5 G19, but here we are again with the G43X. So stupid it makes my blood pressure climb just typing this out.
If you need protection from dogs and other critters while out running, carry pepper spray and/or a squirt gun filled with ammonia. That and a little Ruger LCP should pretty much cover every typical scenario while out running.
Held my buddies a month or so ago and knew I had to get one. Just picked it up today 😎 My current EDC is a G19
I've had mine for about a year. I couldn't be happier. I personally prefer it's grip texture over my gen 4 or gen 5 glocks.
I was a good 15 years old watching twang and bang arrowhead reviews, I’m now a 23 year old gun owner now watching him review guns ❤️
I was on the fence about the 43X and 48 at first, but have since grown to really like them. Great review!
KSGunGuy hi there. I think I know you from somewhere. Get to feeling well ks
HURT 1 Good to see you Hurt! Thanks brother.
I just bought one of these. Sights are perfectly fine.
I think a few of these went out the door with the wrong front or rear sight installed. I know at least two other really good shooters with the same issues I describe, but you’re also not the only one that said the sights co-witness and line up POA/POI.
I’m extremely pleased with mine
You no longer have to give up 5 rounds. TFB gave a great review to a 15 round mag for this pistol. Imho v2 of the G43x should have a rail
I have two Shield Arms mags. 15 rounds and no added length. Makes a great EDC! Grip is fixed with Talon Grips. Ameri Glo sights as well
I actually really like the Gen 5 triggers real crisp break and short reset.
Agreed
I needed to hold it in my hand first as well and after I did I bought one on the spot :)
Joe DeSalvo me too. 800 rounds later and I like it more than ever.
I agree, I just felt one in my hand on Christmas.... This glock felt perfect... Got to get one now.
Did the same thing here.
I'm no Glock guy, but I held the 43x in the hand the other day out of curiosity and bought it on the spot
Best 43x review ive seen. And I'm pretty sure ive seen them all! 😆
Thanks so much!
You can buy a glock 43x with metal night sights from the factory that’s what I did
Buy all mine that way!
Damn i changed my mind in this completely. The feel in the hand sold me. I bought one on Saturday it will be my running mate. Yep it is slippery so stippling and maybe a comp are in the future and like u said then it might be the perfect glock.
Wilson Combat redid the grip on mine, and it's so much better.
I was looking at a Sig 365 and the day I was going to purchase it , from a local gun shop, he showed me a 43x. Wow it fit perfectly in my hand.
My 43x is at Glock for the second time, because of that silver slide. That silver slide is horrendous, I am mystified that they gave me a brand new (different SN) 43x and pretty much the same thing happened and I sent it back again.
I bought this blindly few months ago.... best gun ever!!!!
Have a talon trip on every handgun I own. Great for shooters with sweatier hands,
Just got my G43X.
I have many pistols and my favorite in all aspects is my old G 36, it's been my sidekick since they released it.
Finally, someone addressing the awful sites. I thought I was a decent shoot until I picked up the G 43x. Time to look for aftermarket sites
I put Ameriglo sights on my 43x
This is the only gun guy i watch on yt.
You right! I didn’t “GET” this pistol till I put one in my hand at a local dealer.... then is was 💰💰💰
love my G 43x with Shield Arms S15 mag.
Just got a 43x burnt bronze and ordered some s15 mags. Can’t wait to get the mags in.
Love my g43/ G42 as well. What I need from Glock is a 10oz 32acp!
Jeff Simantel the bullets are just to expensive... have you priced 32 lately?
If Glocks are so Perfection. Why in the hell do y'all get them stippled, swap the grip module with an 80 lower, change the sights, the barrels and the triggers? By the time you're finished you have a FrankenGlock. Guns like the Shield 2.0, P365 and P365 XL and the Hellcat come out of the box ready to go.
G43X with talon grips and S15 mags... oh my lord it's amazing. With the talon grips it feels like my hand was made for the gun haha
Yes, there is something about this gun that made me just dump $1,000 into it to customize it with a holosun 507k, true precision axiom slide, true precision threaded barrel, Apex Trigger, Vickers extended slide stop, S15 mags. I don't know what's gotten into me? It's like this gun is got me hypnotized🤣🤣🤣 excellent video by the way!👍
There are too many guns 🔫, to choose from, nit picking minor details, sucks, good video.
The smooth grips make it easier to apply talon grips and others like it
I just built a pf9ss.The only thing that I added was a +2 extension for improved grip and a little more capacity.Couldnt be happier with it.The X was just too much like a 19 for me to justify buying one.
I totally know what you mean on glock sights.
LOL!! Accidental open carry at Targe' Botique'... Surprised one of the Brier creek ninnys didn't have the manager get you out of there. I understand your point but I'll always support the OC folks in NC. I've done it once in a while but not on a regular basis.
That’s the one, and I was pleasantly surprised, too.
Thank you for taking the time and making the effort to create a great video.
I've had a 43X for over a year. It shoots 12" to the right from a rest and rubs the bottom of my trigger finger raw after 50 rounds. It's getting traded as soon as the dealers has something worth trading for.
Not to be rude but are you sure? Ive never heard of this happening before.
@@MacD2029 I was very disappointed too. I liked the feel and size of the gun but it just wasn't right. I have two other Glocks that work (23/27) fine. I traded it back in April for a Springfield Armory SA-35.
I love this gun. I carry it everyday. Ten rounds and a spare mag and you're fine. Single stack. Nice and slim.
You need the Shield 15 round mags....love mine.
Have you tried the Shield Arms 15rd mags? Game changer!!!!
Where did you go? Done with videos?
FYI Kahr CM9 or CW9 make great pistol for jogging. super lightweight.
We live in an age where most of us need to carry guns on a 5 minute jog.
It does feel super good in your hand went in for a 26 left with a 43x
I’m a fan of the aggressive texturing on the 2.0 Shield.
The best feeling gun for me is the sig p365xl by far! I swear God himself made that gun specifically for my hands. Hell screw the holster I'll just carry it with my hands instead.
Probably, going to be my next carry pistol and my first Glock ever!!
I bought the 43X a couple of weeks before I bought a G48. I find that the G48 is a better option really. Please take time to shoot/review a 48! I think you may be surprised. The 43X is clearly the more popular of the two but in my humble opinion the G48 is a superior handgun. Great review as always.
I'm sure it shoots softer because of the longer slide, but my preference for the 43X is specifically due to it's reduced size.
The new Shield Arms mags make a great case for this and the 48, but I still carry my 19 Gen 5. I really like it.
I prefer my 365. Everything I’d change on the glock comes stock on a 365
Andrew Johnson Like?
365 is JUNK sorry but it's not just a personal opinion.
Ya the Sig does have a couple things a glock doesn't such as sights oh and that self destruct mode. Most people I know that like the p365 don't shoot them. Mine made two trips for repair one just before a 1000 rounds and the second with about another 2000 more. It was sold after it's second return.
I like the 365 too. I shoot the 43x better though.
“Everything I’d change on the Glock comes stock on a 365” including reliability issues.
G17 is still my favorite.
Love your reviews, thank you.
Thanks for watching!
I miss your content brother . I pray you and the family are doing great.

Where are your shooting at? I think we are in the same neck off the woods.
