You talking about the soldier that may have been standing right here when he dropped that bullet reminded me of a detecting trip I had. About 20 years ago I was near Stone River Battlefield metal detecting behind the National Guard Center. I was out in the woods and found a grouping of cannon friction primers that were used. It occurred to me that this is where a cannon was during that battle. At that moment I felt like there were 1000 eyes on me. Like ghosts. Of all the hunts I did over the years, I had never felt spooked like that before. I guess I just realized how many people died right in that area. Now, there is an outlet mall covering those woods and field. Sad…
Beau those buck knife snap's cost me a bunch back in the 70's rotted fast in wet weather cracked in dry I even find other's lost one with my detector then !!!; )
That big staple looking piece was commonly used on wagons and sleds back in the day. My grandfather had a sled that he'd drag behind two horses that had 6 of those along the top of the wooden sled walls. He used to fill the sled with coal from an old abandoned strip mine near his property. There were areas where veins of coal were visibly exposed and low to the ground. As a lad, I'd take a mattock and a shovel and help him load the sled. Dirty, hard work.
Just started back detecting. My brother in law had a horse farm in Richmond. My great uncle had a tobacco farm, darn, need to go back in time. Oh well.
Well, some of my viewers ARE 10 years old and many live all over the world and don't have a clue about American history. If you want a channel geared toward experts, this channel ain't it.
Hey Aquachigger. You probably answered this before but I’m always curious why there are so many dropped bullets. Seems like they would have been more precious than to be dropped so much.
Shortish video tonight. It was a fun detection and I hope you enjoy the video!
Always enjoy them.
Same
We enjoy all your videos. Cantcwait for more@ Hope the entertainment wasn't too hard on you and yours.
Looks as if my phone says what it wants. I meant to say I hope the WINTER wasn't too hard on you!
Enjoyed but why throw the dirt so far from the hole that you have to cover back up.
Just happy to see you post and share another adventure. Time for me to finally sit down and enjoy. Thanks, Beau.
My pleasure!

I wonder what you'd find at Blakely State Park in Spanish Fort, AL... It's mostly wooded w/ some marshy areas along the river.

I think the thing you found is to hang a gate from.

What resources do you use to figure out where the civil war battles and skirmishes and routes were.
Or her and his horse was standing there. Weren't those most;y used by Cavalry?

What time did chig post this video, just asking
4:57 pm EST
Id pay good money to do metal detecting courses with a pro like Chigg. Even if it were just to find some gnails.

Hello Chig, do you ever come across any weird or crazy looking characters out in the woods?
I saw one once when I was looking into a stream when getting a drink but he split as soon as I looked up.
Too many ppl picked the places clean the last 160 years
