ua-cam.com/video/3UlrQVO2914/v-deo.html Robocop the original actor choice... was......... ????????????????????????
Yo crei q eras Mexicana👀de que País eres?
Love your facial reactions. you're gorgeous. I was born in the 80s you watching movies that I considered Hall of Fame. React to the crow.
You see running man
Well well this is just up my alley...
A Robocop reaction?!? “I’d buy that for a dollar!!”
She claimed not to be mexican....
Well played Nathan
Rofl rofl rofl
Thankfully not the reboot. I want that dollar back.
The sequel is bad ass seen it at the movie theater
as a Detroit native, I can only say their depiction of the city is far too nice.
I'm curious to hear from an actual native what the locals there think of the statue that is to be eventually erected. Is it viewed as a joke, a waste of money? Really cool? Or is the general consensus there just indifference and no one ever thinks of it, partly because this movie is... well... pretty old? What are YOUR thoughts on the statue? Just really curious.
Growing up in the Dallas/Ft Worth area always trough me for a loop when I would see the Dallas skyline in this movie 😄
They were trying to project into the future. They couldn't have known that it was going to be even worse.
The OCP building was actually a public library in Dallas that had a matte painting added to the top of it to make it look like a skyscraper
@@karlsmith2570 Was that the internal? Because the external was Dallas City Hall
my mom took me to see this movie when i was 13...she loved it so much we stayed in the theatre and snuck in to watch it again. ahh the good old days.
Good for you! Treasured memory, I'm sure! Same as me, but I'm older. My similar experience is when Mom took me to King Kong (1976) when I was 15! Yep, I will repeat that those were the good old days.
I was 8 when saw this movie. I still can’t believe my mom let me see this. My mom was a badass and still is. The 80s were insane. I still have my original Robocop and Ed 209 toys.
Weird taste for a 13 year old..lol
Not to be a creep, but how old was your mom back then? She sounds too cool
Moms back then were the shit. Moms these days are too sensitive.
20:11 It was what he said: "Dead or alive, you're coming with me." Murphy told him this in the beginning, so he remembered it.
So many reaction tubers miss this for some reason.
He remembered it because it was excellent.
They (youtubers) should feels shock when Lewis try to touch Murphy's body but too hot when he got shot...
They forget it because it's not obvious the first time. I only spotted it after multiple viewings. (I first saw it when I was about 9 though)
@JamesS.254 Atention spam of a hamster..
"I can feel them.....but I can't remember them."
That line gets me every time. Poor Murphy.
That line sums up pretty well humanity of the film. In real life people with memory disorders, dementia etc. have the same problem. Because of all action and satire it is easy to miss the spiritual side of Robocop. The soul of this film values human life and its endless search for identity. Most action films do not have this.
That’s why it’s a classic IMO.. It’s pure schlock satire, that sprinkles in just enough of the good stuff to really make you care.. My personal favorite scene is when he goes back to his old house.. It kills me, every time..
I loved the smile on her face while she watched.. I still have that same reaction all these years later..
This right here is the heart and soul of the movie for me. Robocop is a schlocky, cheesy, B-movie concept on the surface... but there's so much beneath the surface going on, there's real depth in there. Weller's performance, Poledouris' phenomenal score, the ultra-violence, the social commentary and dark, dark, yet comical satire. Even some of the slow tracking shots from the DP are amazing to me, even today. ED 209's design and animation, the sound design... this movie is such a masterpiece!
I'd buy it for a dollar!
It is so adorable how every time Robocop arrives on the scene you go, "Robocop? Robocop!" with the same surprise and enthusiasm I had when I was seven. Love it.
At 20:18 you were wondering how he can tell it was Murphy.. its because in the fight scene where he got killed he said the same line to this guy "Dead or alive, you're coming with me". That's what tipped him off.
That, and the gun spin!
And the face
His most famous line! ;-)
The time you linked is not the one you were referring to.
"Did he just blow off his hand? How's he going to get out of this?"
Me: Weeellllll...
1 Dollar
He got a new head!!!!
@@tonymatrisin4328 YES!!!!
They'll fix him. They fix everything.
Robocop, Total Recall and Starship Troopers are the holy trinity of Paul Verhoeven films.
I always forget Total Recall is made by him
I watched all three.
All 3 are masterpieces.. This one is the best, though..
don't know about Starship Troopers but the other 2 have some unsettlingly graphic scenes especially Total Recall.
@@Tribal92 starship troopers is ultra violent but it's the same satirical violence as robocop and total recall it's so over the top it's darkly funny.
The Hospital scene is "Real" it's real as in the filmmakers had no idea about medical procedures so they hired real Doctors and Nurses and gave them a scenario of what happened and told them to do what they would if it was a real man dying on the table.
Just another reason Verhoven is a genius.
How Verenhoven pucked the Robocop theme was also genius. He stomped around Polidaris music room like robocop finding the right theme for Robocop.
I agree they did a great job on that scene
yes....they were real Trauma Center people
As the movie goes along, Murphy regains more and more of his humanity. He goes from an expressionless robot, to giving a slight smile at the end.. Listen to how his voice changes in steps along the way. When he says his name at the end, it only has a little bit of electronic processing.
Good observation. I too thought by the end of the movie he regained part of his humanity when they asked for his name and he said "Murphy"
@@ithakra -- the most heartbreaking line is when he says, "I can feel them, but I can't remember them."
Yeah, early on in the film, RoboCop "hums" whenever he is around, and then it subsides as the movie concludes.
@@lukasmaks9617 --- Spot on.. I only thought about that when I ran through the movie in my head after you mentioned it....
@@lukasmaks9617 I always put that down to the mounting physical damage.
Fun fact. The doctors and nurses that were working on Murphy were actually doctors and nurses. The director wanted to realistically recreate what they would try to do in a situation like Murphy's.
You can tell that part was hyper accurate. All the details.
robocop's suit and makeup effects were created by rob bottin. he was a genius and was responsible for some of the most groundbreaking visual effects in the 1980s.
He won a Special Achievement Academy Award in 1991 for Total Recall.
He also did the sepcial effects in Carpenter's "The Thing" and one of my favorite underappreciated action-horror movies: "Deep Rising".
He did Deep Rising? That movie is a guilty pleasure of mine, good to know!
Ridley Scott wanted to hire him for Blade Runner, but he was booked for The Thing. They later worked together on Legend, where Bottin got his first Oscar nomination for Best Make Up.
Peter Weller has said that suit was murder to wear and he would lose 20lbs in sweat every time he had to do a scene with the costume. I think it took a while for him to get in and out of it too. So if they were filming early he would be stuck in the heavy rubber and metal piece all day.
Emile immediately recognized Robocop because Murphy said “Dead or alive, you’re coming with me” to him when he tried arresting him at the factory.
The guy robbing the gas station recognized Robocop as Murphy not because of his (mostly hidden) face, but because Murphy used the same catch-phrase, "dead or alive, you're coming with me". Even roboticized, it was still exactly the same inflection and cadence.
The best RoboCop reaction I've seen! I'm glad you loved it, it's one of my favourite films.
I agree, she even kept in the violence and best scenes.
The actor who played Clarence Boodicker would end up being one of America's favorite TV Dads on That 70's show
Shut up dumbass 😂
Funny he ended up playing the same character, only less violent.
Red went insane after that 70s show. He started robbing banks and such.
(mentions Twin Peaks) My respect for you just went up 10x.
😂 Right?
Ray Wise!
Damn right
Damn fine TV show.
Twin Peaks is like a piece of incredible cherry pie. :)
“Is the geometry guy ok.” Millions of people have watched Robocop but only you asked this question 😂
I was 13 when this movie came out and all of us at school use to say "I'll buy that for a dollar!" all the time for anything. Great reaction.
Ditto! Like many of us, I STILL do! 😂😂😂
Classic!
This is why age ratings are bullshit.
we say it work all the time :)
Well, you're slowly teaching me to swear in Spanish with those subtitles. ¡Adelante!
😂😂😂
It's like learning swearing in Russian from the car crash videos!
@@warrickdawes7900 не совсем тоже самое, но да. Похоже. Признаю.хD
"He's gonna remember who he is and take rebenge." Lol. It's amusing and cute how she said that.
Everyone should want to find a girl that gets this happy to see ED-209 show up!
Fun fact: the suit legs don't fit in a car. So every time he's driving, he's actually sitting in his underwear.
your genuine look when you answered the "old man's" question of "whats your name son?" and when you gave a great look of sincerity and said "Murphy!". this movie is so much more than just the 80s.
Respect for spotting the Twin Peaks actor...this movie is FULL of "Oh its him from..." moments
Try "Naked Lunch" also starring Peter Weller ;]
Clarence Boddicker, and Max Cady are the 2 most underrated movie villains of all time.
Kurtwood smith who plays clarence boddicker is red foreman from that 70's show
One of the greatest movies ever made. This film was released when i was 7 years old and now in my 41 years old i still love this classic. Robocop directed by Paul Verhoeven starring Peter Weller, Nancy Allen, Ronny Cox, Miguel Ferrer and Kurtwood Smith. Thank you so much for reacting the movie from my childhood😎👍😊
I’m only a year older than you. We definitely have some shared generational experiences.
41. My favorite movie of all time. “Role models are really important for a boy” -Alex Murphy
@@jeremyfrost2636 👍👍👍👍
20:30 Emil recognised Robocop as being the cop that he and his “friends” brutally killed because Murphy had said the exact same line “Dead or alive, you’re coming with me” when he first encountered him earlier in the film.
i guess she wasnt paying attention. #millenials
Your reactions never disappoint! I was so excited when I saw that you were going to react to this movie, and it's great that you loved it! Once the movie got underway you were really on the ball with your predictions, and your enthusiasm all the way through was so infectious 😁
The documentary looks fascinating too, so I'll definitely be checking out the link x
The criminal recognized him because of the line "Dead or alive you're coming with me" it also went along with the voice he remembered.
"Can you fly bobby!" LMFAO...classic line right there!
I'm Mexican and forgot my Spanish. But I still know very much what it sounds like. When you spoke Spanish earlier, I knew you weren't Mexican. When you spoke it later with a Mexican accent, you had it on the money. My abuelita always watched novelas all the time!
"Do Androids Dream of Electric Sheep?" (Phillip K. Dick)
Yes, Robocop do
He didn't recognise his face, he remembered him saying "dead or alive, you're coming with me."
When I saw this in theaters, one scene was longer. When Emile exploded all over Clarence's windshield, he turned on his windshield wipers to clean him off. They cut this out of the home video releases. I think it was restored in the Criterion Collection version.
- Vanessa: Did you like my reaction?
- Me: I think I'm in love...
Love to see a younger generation enjoy this film. It still holds up. If you like Robocop you will also enjoy Total Recall by same director Paul Verhoven. It feels like it is in the same universe as Robocop. Starship Troopers is also a fun one by him as well.
Ice always thought that humanity were the true aggressors in Starship Troopers
From Chicago here.
You're so cute and funny.
You always make me laugh and smile.
And I love this film so much.
This was the highlight of my Saturday night.
Thanx.
Good news! Geometry guy was okay, you can see he ran away in time. :)
Paul Vorhoeven based that character on himself as a student.
Evidently, he could outsmart an explosion.
@@strawdawgs78 underrated comment
"He's going to put on a suit" Movie: "The suit will wear him"
OMG brilliant, a commercial, within a commercial, within a commercial, first the "Nuke'em" movie commercial, then the youtube commercial, then your commercial, and when you displaying the message, "and now time for my commercial, before yours but after that message, that's when the youtube commercial played. synergy and meta all rolled into one. Bravo
That's right, Leland Palmer himself Ray Wise. Also, Bob Morton, the guy who came up with the RoboCop-program, is also from Twin Peaks, Miguel Ferrer =) Also, Emil the bad guy remebered the line "Dead or alive, you're coming with me" in which he recognized him.
I get a kick out of her facial expressions when she reacts. She's so darn cute.
The dude in the gas station remembered him because of what he said "Dead or alive you're coming with me"
Great movie. The thug in the oil station recognize Robocop by his sentence "Dead or alive you are coming with me". You should watch other Paul Verhoeven movies like Total Recall 1990 , Starship Troopers 1997 and Hollow Man 2000
YES
Robocop is such a staple from my childhood. Your reaction was so great. I was emotional in certain parts because the character development was so good and you recognized it so well. The story always touched me.
It's so entertaining to see younger people watching this movie for the first time and getting to see their reactions. I always wanted to know if they ever wondered about the retro technology, clothing or hairstyles. This was super 80's vibe and they got television sets that are boxes and have dials, no cell phones, etc.
Honestly, this is one of the best movies I saw in my teen years (i was born at 1975).
This could be attributed to that mixture of childhood innocence and nostalgia, which makes us see with generous eyes many movies of our childhood or adolescence.
But not, because neither the sequels, nor that reboot so badly maded hasn't a fraction of the quality that this MASTERPIECE that Paul Veerhoeven was made
This film goes from science fiction to satire in nothing flat. Also notice the Jesus imagery that surrounds Murphy. He comes back from the dead and even walks on water.
I do love your reactions. It's nice to see someone getting genuinely excited about watching movies and engaging with the story. It's exactly what I do. One of my favourite things you do is surprisingly rare with other "reactors". You actually stop the movie to react to the film. Consider what happened and think about what comes next or say something about the special effects. I do that all the time. It takes me twice as long to finish the movie sometimes because I keep stopping and starting to look something up or write down something I really liked. Savouring the experience. It's great fun watching you watch my favourite movies. I'm crazy about film and TV. I love all this stuff and talking about it and thinking about the experience. I'm glad you decided to start doing these reactions. It's fun times.
One bad point about this movie is that it suffers from the excessive racking of shotgun actions. These guys would practically empty their weapons before they even got a chance to fire them. While Robocop didn't create the trope, a lot of movies do it.
For the year it came out. This movie special effects always impressed me and how good the movie is...
Robocop remake was an error to be made.
The only good things about the boring, mediocre remake are Michael Keaton and that they actually showed how the ED-209s could actually be pretty damned effective at maintaining order and being used in military operations if actually programmed properly.
Like the dozens of other remakes that have no justifications for a remake, only because Hollywood makes shit nowadays and been making shit after the 90s. The creativity, originality and talent died in the 90s..
This was a genuine joy to watch; loved your energy and how much you got into the movie! Took me right back to the first time I saw this as a kid and exactly how I felt watching it. To this day, Robocop is still in my top 10 films
How much for a Robocop DVD... "I'd buy that for a Dollar"
You say you've never seen this movie before but you've accurately predicted everything that happens in this movie.
I know right. She's a bit too on point to be her first time watching it. I'm thinking she watched it before making the video so she would know which moments to react to with the most emotion.
Oh and he recognised him because of the phrase "dead or alive you are coming with me"
Metro-Goldwyn-Mayer is a major movie studio in Hollywood. "Ars gratia artis" is "art for art's sake" in Latin. Robocop was released in the Summer of 1987. It was directed by Dutch filmmaker Paul Verhoeven. There's a lot of sleaze, sex and violence in his films.
I go back and forth on what his best movie is: Robocop or Starship Troopers....like asking what child is your favorite 😊
I’d buy that for a dollar!
Ok, I LOVE this movie :) and you are just delightful to watch!! Great channel!
I'm new to this channel, it's rare to have people with actual reactions. You have an amazing personality, subscribed.
Wise choice for your channel to focus more on movies, particularly these classics. Reaction-channels that do-so tend to grow very quickly, particularly ones with charismatic people, like yourself.
Tome su like, señorita.
I love how nonchalant he is about running over the toxic waste guy. “Shit.”
Aw man, I shot Marvin in the face.
I must have watched this movie a dozen times before I was ten years old. I have all the action figures too! That's what you grew up on when you were born in the 80s...!!
Robocop is a fantastic movie, one of my favorites. I'd like to see your reaction to the movie "The Thing."
I've never noticed, after all these years, that Ray Wise, aka Leland Palmer from Twin Peaks, was in this movie. However, I did know that Miguel Ferrer (Bob Morton), who played Albert in TP, is in it. I'm still a little in shock over that first revelation though, lol.
Miguel Ferrer passed away a few years ago. I didn’t realize that he was George Clooney’s cousin until I looked him up.
One time I fell asleep to Hallmark channel and woke up with Ray Wise on the screen, I was like what's he doin on Hallmark
There's just something so special about seeing someone watch Robocop for the first time!
I show this movie to everyone I meet!
Always puts a smile on my face every time you shout 'ROBOCOP' :)
Peter Weller got a lot of his inspiration from John Cleese's performance as the Black Knight in Monty Python and the Holy Grail. Best. Leo.
Greatest 80s action movie ever till the end of time glad this movie impressed you give you a sense of thrill shocked you a little specially with the violence that's in this movie totally action-packed of 80s nostalgia I watch this movie when I was 13 been hooked since now since 2021
Die Hard and Raiders of the Lost Ark are on hold, and would like to speak with you..
The guy who does the voice over during the attempt to save Murphy is an actual Doc and according to Verhoeven's commentary that guy said they had people in similar conditions and some even survived.
with all of the development that would go into Ed 209 somebody couldn't think of stairs
7:25 HUGE respects for seeing Twin Peaks. It's and it's sequel are the best things that have come from TV. There's endless amounts of hidden things and wisdom into Twin Peaks, and David Lynch's art in general. People who have never seen Twin Peaks should do reaction to it. Almost certain way of getting lots of subscribers as it's a cult show.
4:42, the Director's Cut!! Yes!
The guy who claps a lot is Miguel Ferrer, one of the most iconic Latino actors of the ‘80s and ‘90s. He was also in Twin Peaks (as Albert Rosenfield).
@Once Upon a Reaction Fact: People survive shots to the head sometimes, and a regular revolver can blow up your arm. A few examples: The mom of a friend of mine was shot in the head once, and she survived (because it was only superficial). Clyde Morrow´s brother (from Bonnie and Clyde) got shot in the head, and he still was able to run away from the police for a few days, with parts of his brain literally coming out of the hole (till he died in the hospital). There also was a guy in my town who was shot in a park. A car stopped in front of him, pulled out a gun and pulled the trigger once. His entire arm immediately fell down to the ground, with a single shot.
That's my oal Nancy playing the female lead. Check her out in the thriller BLOW OUT with John Travolta.
She's really pretty🙂
Great reaction, you're insanely beautiful and charismatic and as a native spanish speaker myself i have to say your accent is soooo cute!
that criminal recognized him because he said "dead or alive, you're coming with me.", which is the same thing he said to him before he was robocop.
I loved your reaction.
And just like everyone else...I have to say the most famous line...
“I’d buy that for a dollar!” 🤣🤣🤣
When you think of Paul Verhoeven directed films, think hyper amounts of blood, violence, and sexual content... oftentimes along with biting social commentary. He was not a director of subtlety.
In still, people thougt "Robocop" would be serious movie.
I’d argue there’s a subtlety to his work. It’s just buried underneath the over-the-top stuff
Emil recognized Robocop at the gas station because of his "Dead or Alive, your coming with me" comment
He recognized him because he said the same phrase “dead or alive you’re coming with me”.
A lot of the ubsurd scenes and events in the original Robocop are what makes it a satire on the late 80's. I don't think it's just the impromtue ad breaks/commercial breaks that are spread throughout the film.
like when dick jones is shot out the window his arms just look so long
The actor who plays Clearance (Kurtwood Smith) was Red on That 70's Show if you've ever watched that.
You get so exited when hundred bullets tear up a guy on a table. I love it.
"I always recognize faces"... Well the "guy who claps a lot" was also in Twin Peaks and you didn't get him 😁

This is one of my favorite films growing up. It’s so good.
The guy that plays Bob Morton is also in Twin Peaks. 😆
“Starship Troopers” is another film by the same director that has the same level of satire and it’s very much a fantastic sci-fi movie.
At 20:11, he didn't necessarily recognize his face but he recognized what he said to him before they killed him "Dead or alive you're coming with me"..... and of course Murphy's voice is easily recognizable.
That face when Boddicker said 'Can you FLY Bobby ??" :D
"My friends call me Murphy. YOU may call me... Robocop!" A much better and more appropriate line in the final scene. :)
This is one of my favourite movies since I was like 5 years old! And every time I watch it I discover new details or symbolisms.
Don’t worry about geometry-guy, he used the power of geometry to get away.
One of my top 5 favorite movies of all time. I'm very happy you enjoyed it, it's very funny how a super violent movie created so many toys for kids too. But that was the 80s haha
He recognized him because ROBOCOP said the same thing to him that Murphy said. “Dead or alive, you’re coming with me”
RoboCop changed the history of cinema in 1987!
Clarence (played by Kurtwood Smith) is one of my favorite movie villains, maybe right behind Ramón Rojo (played by Gian Maria Volontè) in A Fist Full Of Dollars.
