"Bitches leave" are the 2 greatest words in cinema history!
Dead or Alive, you are c*ming with me
@@borischan5252 bitches leave is better
The thing that always struck me as funny about this movie is that the ED-209 at the end was going to go full metal over a parking violation. There's no middle ground with that 'bot.
Well they didn’t equip it with handcuffs, and Robo doesn’t have them either XD
You have your wheels turned the wrong way while parked!!! You have 20 seconds to comply
........
💥 💥 💥 💥 💥 💥
Thank you for your cooperation
The thing that always struck me not as funny is that Human life means little to nothing in comparison to money, and power.Whether it be from the criminals(Boddicker, and his gang),or Dick Jones, and Bob Morton, life means nothing.
@@Karlam20001seems there are plenty of real people nowadays that are the same 😢
The world we live in.@@Karlam20001
Not only an amazing Legendary classic but as its been said before it truly is a perfect movie : )
I always liked how Dick Jones says “I’m number two around here” while they’re in the bathroom. 😁 Speaking of #2, I hope you’ll react to the sequel as well!
Notice that Jones dropped a deuce, didn't wash his hands then fondled Bob's hair. Yuk....
The sequel is worth watching just for the scene with all the failures going mental 😂
"A paramedic?! You need to call the morgue!!" 😂😂
30:32 "he about to run into an ED-209 down there? we know how to beat these guys, find some stairs!" lol 🤣
Robocop, Predator, Aliens, Empire strikes back, The Goonies, Back to the future, Big trouble in litte China, Blade Runner, Nightmare on Elm st, Commando, Terminator, Starfighter, Platoon, Full metal jacket, The Hitcher, Evil Dead II and more the 80's was the best decade for movies
in your opinion
4:17 - The look on your face is priceless. I saw this in theaters when I was a kid when it first came out. I was 9. I somehow convinced my grandmother to take me to see it. It was amazing to see then and it is still an amazing film now.
OK; Robocop never tires, has a literal photographic memory, and his face and robo-penis is all kinds of bulletproof. One thing RoboCop apparently can’t do, however, is walk down stairs. Mask and suit restricted Peter Weller’s movements so much that he found it exceptionally difficult to walk down stairs. But he can still kick ass. The clip og ED-209 falling down the stairs, so pay attention to the last few seconds. If you watch carefully you’ll see Weller very clearly break character and move in a very un-robot-like fashion down the stairs while holding onto the railing before the shot abruptly cuts. This means that just like ED-209, RoboCop also struggled with stairs, lol...Thanx Me. V. Stay groovy, Peace
LEO: ROBOCOP IS THE 1ST OF A GREAT (PAUL VERHOEVEN - DIRECTOR) TRILOGY, YOU GOTTA SEE ALL OF THEM, THEY'RE GREAT! #2 IS "TOTAL RECALL" & #3 IS "STARSHIP TROOPERS" 😉
Dude it was so fun watching this with you. Thank you for sharing this with us!
Yes. That's Kurtwood Smith. He played Alicia Silverstone's father in The Crush(1993).
I would love to do a RoboCop cosplay, down to the opening thigh compartments and sliding gun holsters, but that would be time consuming and expensive to replicate.
Welcome to the world of Paul Verhoeven. Ultra violence, social commentary and, satire all rolled into one. It's not that uncommon. Especially back then, but the soundtrack by Basil Poledouris imo elevated this movie. Everything just works in this movie.
Late 80’s was peak hyper violence for movies. Crimes rates were at an all time high, higher than now so everyone thought it was going to get way worse in the future.
I saw this at the theater when I was 12... GenX parents DGAF.
I was also 12 in 1987, remember going with my mother. She doesn't like very violent or gory movies, maybe she didn't realize the level. But yeah, I saw a lot of R rated movies in my childhood.
Peter Weller will always be MY Robocop. No one can ever replace him.
Peter Weller is simply amazing. He's so amazing in fact Robocop Rogue City a newly released video game is now on track to being rated as one of the greatest licensed video games of all time. I can't wait to become Murphy and experience the streets of detroit through his eyes.
Yay... you finally found the quintessential 80's vibe movie
Leo reacting to Robocop? I'd buy that for a dollar!
Yes, you're absolutely right about Kurtwood Smith being the grouchy dad on That '70s Show. He's such a hard-working, high-energy actor, he's been in about one gazillion TV shows and movies. I can't even keep track of it all!
"I'd buy that for a dollar!"
"Bitches leave!"
Two of the best lines in this classic gem.
I saw this upload on telegram. It was even better.
Mr. Video, your reactions have come so far with movies vs music...
Oh my god. Kenny dresses as ED-209 in South Park! How did I never catch that he iced "Kinney" in Robocop?
Silence is better than a beep for awearing
23:33 😂😂😂Cam and Mase gonna git ya
YEEEEEEEEEESSSSSSS!!!! My favorite movie of all TIME!!!!!
Loved this growing up! The first cut was so bloody and brutal that it caught an X rating. Great timing too, a great looking Robocop game just dropped, playing it now lol, well..... I paused it when I got the notification so..
Stay you Leo! On a side note do you ever plan on finishing The Last Airbender...
What system is the new robocop on?? I still have an Xbox one s

"OMG, They've Killed Kinney, Those Bastards"
I always forget how young you are. Like oh, he didn't see this in 92' after school?
Aw, Leo skipped the best line among a ton of good lines 🤣 I will never forget Red Foreman saying "Bitches. Leave." before blowing up that house 🤷🏼♂️ It might not fit in today's mentality, but it definitely stood out 😂
yes teh bad guy in robocop is the dad from that 70's show , or more correctly , the dad on that 70's show is teh bad guy from robocop (since robocop came first).
Murphy you are fired!!! Thank you Sir....
The best parts are whenever RoboCop is on screen and the news tv sections. Required I'd but that for a dollar
Ehhhhh he eat dodo! Might be the funniest thing I've heard on UA-cam 😅 thanks Mr video for existing and that line.
The second movie is really good too
"look like a microphone" the model was made from a microphone lmao
Kenny reapers as one of the hostages in the major's office.😂
At 11:14 Two cops, one cup 😂
The Law of the Jungle guy in the film clip Eddie Van Halen.
I remember when Robocop saved Sting from the Four Horsemen in WCW.
Ed 209 you look like a microphone though
Me: I thought I was the only one who thought that
BITCHES LEAVE.
The line for when you mean business!
Dude's gotta look up that clip of Robocop shootin everyone in the junk.
Dick Jones (Ronny Cox) was the police chief in Beverly Hills Cop.
He's also the big bad guy in Total Recall (1990), another movie by same director as RoboCop.
I didn't recognize Its Mr. Video without the couch.
My favorite movie.
So, originally, the makers of this film were setting out to adapt stories from a comic book from the UK about a futuristic cop called Judge Dredd. They couldn't get the rights to it, so they made their own original character sort of based on the same concept. The studio that did end up getting the rights to Judge Dredd made a bad Sylvester Stallone movie out of it a few years later, not worth watching. But in 2012, another movie got made, this time just called Dredd, and it was spectacular. Well worth the reaction if you haven't done it already.
👍 on the new style.
A perfect movie other than "long arm Dick"falling at the end.
At the beginning after his transformation into Robocop, his voice is almost entirely computer synthesized as he regains his human memories it becomes more and more human until in the closing shot it's entirely back to human and he refers to himself as "Murphy".
imagine a bunch of Robocops running around. Programming. no delay. no emotion. Just serve the public. no bias on either side. no racism or racist claims. Fair and equal treatment. BUT, who is doing the programming... there will always be humans behind every machine.
Kenny death was so graphic but kinda funny to 😂😮
1987, to be exact. That was a good summer. I'm so glad we didn't have the internet or smartphones 😳
San Francisco is already using police robots.
A couple of good cult classics to check out would be:
Killer Klowns from Outer Space
Attack of the Killer Tomatoes
And if you're feeling brave then maybe:
The Rocky Horror Picture Show.
I think people in the 80's expected technology to progress just a wee bit faster than it actually has--especially if you were a kid. I was six years old when Robocop came out. If you'd asked me at the time what I thought people would be doing in 2023, I would have guessed that highly advanced robots would be bottom-tier technology at this point, and that we had been living successfully in space colonies for a number of years, if not decades.
Poor ED-209...They killed Kenny, again. So many great quotes from this film. Fun factoid - That was a real ER team working on Murphy.
I'm from that county 😂.
Oakland County, MI.
Detroit
Damn, I can't buy nothing for a dollar 😬
Robocop 2 is 🔥, also
I know this outta context and I love this movie….but twirling a gun around like that is pretty dangerous.
Your timing tho
The video game is coming out today!
Uhhh - you're watching the extended version it seems. The shootout scene in the beginning is longer.
Mr Video don,t argue with Robocop period
a real classic! Hope you enjoyed it!
One of my favorite movies ever!! Although I still get grossed out by toxic waste dude😂
Do a video with the hair down. Are you a musician? What are your musical tastes. Thanks for another great video, til the next one.
You need to react to rest of them. Then the newer 2014 remake
Certified CLASSIC🔥🔥 Tune in to RoboCop 2 next 😈😈
Yep. Red Foreman had enough of Eric's crap, Changed his name and moved from Wisconsin to Detroit...
Great react! I hope U'll enjoy whole trilogy.....
youll have to watch part 2 to find out.
I thought Lewis would be like RoboCop in the sequel (years ago before it came out). Sorry for spoiler.
23:33 Don’t let _that_ get taken out of context. 😬
If you play videogames theres a new robocop game and it's really good. There's a free demo if you just want to try it
Oh my God! They killed Kenny!
"you b@st@rds!" lol
ED 209 AT LEAST WE KNOW IT WORKS
For older people like me, when watching the 70s show 'Hey that's the bad guy from RoboCop!'. Younger generation watching RoboCop for the first time 'Hey that's Red from the 70s show!'
For real 🤣
The medical team trying to save Murphy sound very realistic for a good reason - they *are* a real medical staff. The director wanted the scene to be genuine so he paid an off-duty ER team to come in and treat him like they would a real gunshot victim.
I rewatched this two days ago as well, and the thing that really stuck out was the realism of it all. My wife IS an ER provider and the realism of that scene never struck me until this viewing. This movie is so fucking good, that I see new things 30 years after it was made.
Paul Verhoeven is a genius
It’s something about these older movies that are so much better than todays
They couldnt just reshoot everything or rebuild the movie with mediocre CGI in post production. They had to plan what they wanted to shoot, the VFX they needed for it, use what they shot, and the movie was good or bad.
Why cant people just copy the 80s style it doesnt take a fuckin PHD in film making
As much as effort isnt encouraged it sure is appreciated. That's why older artists stand the test of time better than what a growing artificial world has to offer.
Movies now lack of logic suspense and real action
They are not woke!
The idea of Robocop defines what kind of hero is needed in Old Detroit and other cities in peril.
The human spirit cannot be broken, torn away and defeated by the corruption that stands before it.
A summer blockbuster, social satire and hyper-crime action thriller that indeed blew away the masses.
Box office smash and winner of an Academy Award for Best Sound Design.
One of the first-ever Rated-R properties to transition into multiple mediums.
From film to television, live action & animated as well they were toys, video games, comics and more.
The much-anticipated Robocop:Rogue City harkens back to what made this first film so memorable.
"The Future of Law Enforcement" was the tagline.
This film surely was ahead of it's time.
Still the best RoboCop film and Rogue City the game than the Remake of the same name.
"I'd buy that for a dollar" 😉
I still say that today and when people get it... they get it.
I still use that expression up til today.
I watched the Robocop reboot. I want that dollar back.
@@peterseaboldt1250Have you seen the TV series? You'd have two dollars!
I'd buy that for a pound 🏴💪
28:05 one of the explosions in the scene was more powerful than anticipated and singed some of the costumes’ fabric on the actors. The actors were given stunt pay which motivated some of the actors find more ways to get closer to more explosions 😂
The Nuke 'Em commercial has always been a favorite. "Get them before they get you!" is an important lesson for the whole family.
Mfs really pioneered Stallaris
"Kill them before they kill us. That's a plan that can't go wrong"
Murphy wasn't that hard to kill at the beginning, he was just wearing body-armor
Murphy/Robo isn't an AI. His brain is still inside, which is used like a massive hard drive, but Murphy is still in the parts that weren't destroyed by the bullet to his head, which is why Robo is able to fight against the programming at times, due to his own personal morals. It is a main reason he is the only successful good one.
As they say in the sequel, "His sense of duty is what kept him alive".
I showed this to my older cousin on VHS forgetting that he didn’t have cable or see movies.
Over 20 years later he told me that the guy melting and spattered on the windshield traumatized him. 😂🤷🏾♂️
But not the people getting shot to bits 😂😂
I loved that part as a kid. The part that messed me up was Murphy getting killed.
I saw this on VHS too. The first 18+ rated film I ever watched. The whole thing deeply unsettled me, the ED 209 glitch, the shooting, the surgery, and then the terrifying thought of becoming a machine... But I also fing loved it.
Oh your cousin is not alone😂😂😂
The second movie is much more disturbing for me.
Leo, if you want to watch some more cult classic action movies I can suggest;
* Conan the Barbarian (1982 original)
* Demolition Man
* The Warriors (Theatrical Cut)
I agree Leo should watch all three of these classics.
Bro The Warriors is so awesome. I loved the movie and the game that came out about it.
love Conan (1982) also. Same soundtrack composer for Conan (1982) and RoboCop. The Conan soundtrack is an epic masterpiece.
It ticked me off that they never got around to making the Conan the King movie they alluded to at the end of both Conan movies.
@@MrClobbertime be grateful they don't make it now. Conan would be a passenger in his own movie. They'd put a chick in it and make her gay. Modern movie making 101.
I was born in 79’ so figure out how old I was when this came out.
My older sister and I tricked our mom into taking us to a late movie. We knew this was the only one showing. She had no idea what it was about. She was expecting a Star Wars like movie. 😂👍🏾
I see the year now. Damn, I was around 8 and my sister around 14. 👀😬😂
My dad let me rent this on VHS when i was 5... throw in American Werewolf in London and Labyrinth and you got a 5 year old kid that had nightmares all the damn time!
I was also born in 79 so I think I was 8 when I saw this. I snuck into the cinema to watch it, I just boldly walked up and asked for a ticket and the girl who didn’t give a single shite let me in. It was the greatest movie I’d ever seen and told my friends about it non stop until it came out on vhs which we’d rent every weekend
Ha ha me in '74 I remmeber being happy I can watch it legally 😂
We had a lot of video salons in Russia at that time where they didn't look at the rating and allowed children to watch. I saw this movie for the first time in 1988, when I was 8 years old. We had themed toys much later, but we perfectly sculpted robots out of plasticine))) It's a pity that they don't make such films now and probably never will.
Trivia: Robo's pistol is called the "Auto-9". Ammo for it is fed through his hand from a reserve supply in his arm (if I'm remembering correctly), and enough for a magazine's worth from his leg.
There's also a Robocop game that just came out, based on the original trilogy.
nope, even the game pretends like the 3rd one never existed
There's a third Robocop movie?!
@@DoUCwhatHappensLarry yes there is, though it's not the best
@@jrnyfan4life Nancy Allen didn't really want to be in the third film, it was so bad so she had them write her out in the script by killing her off in the first scenes - so it was rumoured
I can understand people not liking the PG13 and what happened to Lewis.. But beyond the lack of Weller.. I didn't hate 3.. even though it did wholly miss the satire from the original film.
If you have not yet this is time for Total Recall (1990) with Arnold Schwarzenegger.
One of my favorites of all time. Top 5 80s movie all day. I was born in 83 n one of my earliest memories is walking in the video store n seeing the big cardboard cutout of RoboCop n Freddy Krueger. Great times lol. I recorded this off the TV when it premiered on HBO lol never forget sitting on the floor in front of the TV n watching it
Dude, you'd love all Paul Verhoeven, Robocop, Starship troopers, Total Recall. Pure cheese and gore 😅
ED209 was nightmare fuel for my younger self. For real, that thing scared the sh1t out of me until I was like 15. I thought every garage was going to open at night and ED209s would be pouring out.
The social commentary and anti-corporate corruption messaging is incredible. You think about it. The villain has the ability to provide military weaponry to a hoodlum to advance his goals. And those goals are the reduction of crime to make it easier to essentially buy and privatize the city of Detroit. But if they have those kind of resources, why not provide them to the cops so they can more effectively fight crime? Answer: Because the company can't make money doing it that way.
27:50 Funny, the kickback on those firearms is DEFINITELY not a "shoot from the hip" type of discharge. They'd all be a couple of shoulderless deaf criminals wishing they could buy some sense next time for a dollar.
When the emil got all messed up by the toxic waste, the actor with the back hair was not told about how emils actor would look. So when he turned the corner to see emil all mutant and flesh melting off his body look "all practical effects btw" and he scream "AHHH GET OFF ME MAAN!!!!" It was an actual genuine reaction. He had no idea he was gonna look like that and it freaked him the F out.
You should REALLY watch Buckaroo Banzai soon! "Murphy" is the lead actor in it, except he's Buckaroo.
My name is also Richard Jones, but that guy's a Dick.
Jokes aside, this is one of my childhood staples. I watched this so many times.
I like that Detroit adopted RoboCop so much that they are putting up a statue in the city.
@4:16. Is the exact reaction I have seen on countless of people for this scene Lmao
clarance bodiker is up their in my list of most iconic villans guy has a hairline that would make goku blush and still commands a presence
Facts:
That scene where Murphy grabs the keys when he is first deployed as RoboCop at the station took so many takes due to the rubber on his hands bouncing the keys off multiple times!
During the scene where RoboCop shoots out in the factory, Peter Weller (who plays Murphy/RoboCop) was listening to Red Rain by Peter Gabriel on his Walkman during filming to be in the mood.
