- In this video I share with you how I made a backpack at home from start to finish.
It is a combination of ideas from tactical, bushcraft and hiking backpacks.
Its dimensions are:
-WITH RAIN COVERS CLOSED
60x35x38cm for the main part
10x9x30cm X2 for the back pockets
TOTAL OF 43,2 liters
-WITH RAIN COVERS SPREADED
70X35X18cm for the main part
10x9x40cm X2 for the back pockets
TOTAL OF 51,3 liters
Stay safe and have fun,
your Outdoors-University Team!
This video is dedicated to David Pearson from the "Reallybigmonkey1" channel, who taught me through his great videos, how important a sewing machine is to make my own equipment!
Thank you for your energy my brother!

Wow... that style and your workmanship makes this one of the best looking homemade backpacks I've seen... bravo.
I've worked with similar waterproof fabric and I had difficulties as it was sticking to the presser foot and not feeding through the machine. This I solved using a layer of tissue paper on top and underneath of the fabric, which I peeled off aftrwards.
I hope this helps other people having the same issue.
Good job on the backpack! I love how functional it is❤
This is something everyone should learn here in the USA. Usable skills
I’m looking up how to do this to customize my own backpacks. I deal with a lot of tech and such and I’m tired of backpacks not fitting my needs and always on the move lifestyle… so, gonna fix the problem my self lol

Do you think its possible to do it with out a sawing machine
I don't say that it is impossible but I wouldn't try it.
@@outdoors-university well sir I am known for doing stupid and unnecessary shiz so its the perfect challenge 🗿👍
@@kuzeysirdas5916 I wish you good luck and I would like to see the end result. And please keep challenging yourself!
@@outdoors-university sir yes sir 🫡
I’m searching for a video that shows taking parts off a backpack and attaching it to another. I think I’m getting close
Harkasın..
What was your total costs?
Sorry, I cannot answer it, as I had most of the materials already around. The main fabric is from a sit sack which we didn't use any more, the black covers are from a poncho that had a big cut on it, the inner material for the back and the shoulder straps was a yoga mat and I had already a lot of paracord. What I bought was the buckles, the net fabric and the polyester webbing.
and the skills you learn more useful in SHTF than waiting for factories to start selling $200 bags again in 100 years
absolutely true brother
