Those peeps have some serious talent! I wish I had some of their tooling. I spend a ton of time with making templates, cutting everything out by hand and just keeping my machine behaving properly, let alone the sewing time. These people are so fast I feel like I'm going backwards lol.
My first job in the 80's was working for The North Face inspecting tents. I had to put up the tent with poles and inspect the inside and outside and cut loose threads. That was workout. Whenever I buy any clothing I know how to inspect the inside and out.
Since I started getting back into sewing I do the same. Everything gets turned inside out and checked out. I like checking out bags and packs, just to see their construction, helps me figure out how to make a panel or how something goes together maybe better then how I do it. @@elconquistador932 my favourite tent designs are external pole sleeves, multi-pitch. I don't like modern tents where you put up the inner first and then throw the fly over. Edouard, this material is a "non-woven" fabric. You can search this on duckduckgo to find out more. It is similar fabric to a low-cost shopping bag but a little thicker and we use it for stiffening part of a bag. We also use it for low-cost stitching reinforcement behind foam, or we can use it like you saw in the video to create a frame and give us an edge to fold fabric over and glue when we need a neat and stable fold...
