I love how it splits but every time I bring a truck load of red oak home my wife says it smells like dog poop.

My least favorite wood. By far thanks to the high moisture content and being heavy. With every other hardwood species and and plenty of pine and cedar I leave oak for other people to use

it burns well but the moisture thing is a pain, and it will stay wet a while!
