    They need to add remote connect to them so you can make those adjustments from an I pad or phone app. DBX PA2 lets you connect it to your phone so you can make adjustments remotely without having to adjust each speaker manually. If you fly them you can't get to them to make the adjustments you need.

    Hi how are you.
    I have a pair of ETX 15p tops and a pair of EKX 15 subwoofer .
    Is this a good combination?
    At 100hz all of them sounds very loud but missing bass
    The EKX subwoofer doesn't have the options for configuration for my tops ETX

    I am thinking about a pair of the EV ETX 12 or 15p's and also a EV ETX 18sp. Do you think this set up could do a gig of 100-200 people with still very heart pounding bass (Teen fair dance)? I will mostly be playing hip hop, rap, and some dubstep.

    • @GearItFirst
      @GearItFirst  10 років тому

      Room acoustics have a LOT to do with how the bass behaves.. but yes, this will be great for that group!

    Great review! Does the ETX-15p have a fan for cooling? Do you prefer the 15p or the 35p? I'm surprised the 35p has a narrower dispersion angle of 60 horizontal and 40 vertical. You'd think adding a midrange would help the dispersion! Thanks.

    • @PaulYoungMinnesota
      @PaulYoungMinnesota 8 років тому

      +Prem Saggar no fan is used, but air cools it from the action of the cone moving. To destroy the voice coil, compress and limit before the signal reaches it, so the air movement ceases. To keep it cool, do not limit or compress the signal, so it is dynamic

    How do these compare to the yamaha dsr115 and the jbl srx815, I personally own a yamaha dxr15 mk2 and the highs are ear piercing loud but the bass on them is just not enough for me. I wanted to know how the srx815 or the etx compares to the dxr15 If you've heard them ofcourse

    Hi, great video review about the new ETX line, i personally own the ELX 115p and sound great but would like to upgrade. Been thinking about RCF or the new ETX line. Could you compare both or at least give a honest opinion between both of these brands? And how one is better than the other.. Thanks

    • @GearItFirst
      @GearItFirst  8 років тому

      +DJNexuz1 ETX is leaps above ELX, but that's also why it costs more. I own some RCFs, but they're more basic- beautiful sound, but they don't get anywhere as loud or have as many features.

      Keith- your best bet is to call EV. They can walk you through each setting a lot better than i can over text. Their support is TOP NOTCH. :)

      cerberusnights ...You Can Try Using A Sonic Maximizer on the your 12's if you want a lil more bass i seen a friend use one on his 12's made a big difference but it might be a way to do it through the DSP also just my 2 cents!

    • @mjsilverfox

      Just use the DSP to bring down the trebble and adjust your mid range, bass or both. If you have a mixer you will have even more control over the sound EQ you're looking for by adjusting your band EQ on the mixer and if you want on the back of the speakers as well, On my EKX15p's I like to bring the trebble down -2db and bring the bass up by +2db. I have them set to club mode (There is no club mode on the ETX Series) and I also use my mixer. They sound fantastic as they are but it's just my personal preference.
      I would recommend using a mixer regadless to get the best out of your sound. I have 2 EV EKX15p's and 1 ETX18sp, looking to get another ETX18sp to complete my set up. Sounds out of this world :)

    The ETX line is a little spendy, for me at least, but man do I want some 12" tops and 15" subs. Right now I'm thoroughly enjoying my ZLX tops and ZXA1 Sub, but someday I hope to expand that system with some ETX speakers. Thanks for the video!

  • @DJNexuz1

    So your saying ETX line is well over RCF line? Am looking to upgrade my mobile dj speakers this year and need help choosing them and be worth th investment for a few years from now. Thanks

    • @GearItFirst
      @GearItFirst  8 років тому

      +DJNexuz1 Depends on the RCF line, as I'm not familiar with everything RCF offers.

    • @bumlover1167
      @bumlover1167 8 років тому

      +DJNexuz1 The RCF 4-PRO 8003 beats the ETX18SP in terms of subs but I can't speak for the rest of RCF's line. I would say that the RCF 745A is better than the ETX15P but it is quite ugly (IMO) your best bet with EV is the ETX35P

    Thanks for the review, I have just purchased these speakers as a upgrade from the RCF Art 715A's. How do you reckon it will compare to my old speakers? I will also be purchasing the ETX 18SP subs to go with this very soon...
    So far I have found the EV ETX Speakers to be more clearer and I liked the fact that it is built out of solid wood as opposed to the plastic RCF cab. I aim to not upgrade now for the next 4-5 years.

      Honestly.. it's brand preference at this point. Both sound amazing. The EVs, as I said in the video, are brighter, but I can use the built-in DSP to shape the sound to my preference.

    One doubt, this equipment has 2000 watts peak, that is, it would be a thousand rms. But I have seen that the woofer is the SMX2150 which is 400 watts, how it can reach 1000 watts no matter how much the power of the driver is added. In other words, the amplifier would deliver extra power to the components.

    • @GearItFirst

    • @snowvalleyrat

    • @mjsilverfox
      @mjsilverfox 4 роки тому

      @@snowvalleyrat Better clarity of sound as well and of course it goes without saying that the birch wood enclosure is much better than the plastic enclosure of the ZLX, so overall much much better sound quality and clarity with very good quality depth.

    I have had these since November 2016 I bought the 12p ETX, I bought these and I'm having problems with them clipping already ? I'm a soloist singer, I've only ever set them up on ODB same on my mixer, I don't drive them at all, I even have a BBE Sonic Maximiser, I use DYNACORD mixer newest model unpowered version, yet my EV ETX 12p have been clipping I'm very disappointed after spending over £2000 on these, I used to have EV ZX5 15" powered with Crown XTX 4000 amp lovely sound flawless never missed a beat in 9 years, wish I'd kept them, only reason I changed was carrying to much for a soloist, will be contacting EV really disappointed.
    Brilliant review though.
