Recently purchased the smaller red & black Milescraft dowel jig and it worked perfectly for my first dowel application. I may move up to that unit as I progress.
I'm pretty sure my DowelMax will do the same job and possibly even a little easier. But this jig is significantly less expensive than the DowelMax. Also, Woodcraft has this Milescraft jig on sale this month (August 2024), which makes it even more affordable. Since I already own a DowelMax, I don't need this, but I have other Milescraft tools and they are fine, great actually. Their designers are quite clever.

Looks like a pretty versatile little jig. Only thing I'd like to see different is the phillips head screws replaced with allen bolt.

The product looks nice and it’s probably great but my god the anxiety I got watching you adjust this thing 10 times, I’d botch this.
What a pain to use.
