    These are really amazing! My very first try at paper mache pumpkins resulted in one of them collapsing, and I was devastated. I threw it out. If only I had thought to make it into a 'rotten pumpkin! I will definitely be trying this! Thank you so much for sharing!

    The face plant pumpkin turned out the best! I love when that happens. I even loved it after you just hit it with the burnt umber and thats it. Thanks for sharing, we haunters were anxiously awaiting this video!!

      Matrix Mom Thank much! Face Plant Pumpkin has that official name now! I thought the same thing about the burnt umber when I was editing the video. I'll have to do one like that, just starting to rot!! Actually I'm making one more BIG rotting pumpkin and then I have other projects on the list. But you know I could just keep making them Rotten Jacks🎃🎃🎃🎃🎃🎃🎃💜💜💜

    I am so in love with your rotten pumpkins and I really love mine! Thank you so much!
    Great tutorial. You make it look so easy. I really wished we lived closer and we could hang out and make some rotten pumpkins together. Your bride turned out great. I have two brand new wedding dresses to use for our haunt but I have no clue what to do to them. I want to do more than bloody them up and they are so pretty, I have put off doing anything to them!

    • @brownbettybrown1
      @brownbettybrown1  6 років тому

      bransonhauntedhills Thanks Mary! So the bride wasn't even on the list, I was going to make her a trick or Treater wearing a skeleton gown. I thought she looked more like a bride. I picked up the wedding gown at a thrift store a while back . I'm always looking for high collared, long sleeve, floor length gowns. So that's how she came to be. I sprayed the bottom of her dress with black spray paint and that is it. I couldn't do any more. No plans for a groom this year.
      I'm making one more BIG rotten pumpkin then I'm moving on to other projects. I love making those rotten pumpkins so much I could drop everything else and just make them until Haunt season. Ha!
      We are working on putting the werewolf together right now. I've been distressing the werewolf clothes. And then we're going to put him all together and cross him off the list.
      I know you are deep in build season, what are you building? Adding on to the Haunt?

      That is great that you love making them so much. That is the reason they look so awesome!
      We are building a picnic table! LOL Not exactly haunty but it is for our actors. We also built on a room that is going to be filled with lots of bunk beds where all of the Corbins sleep! We are clearing paths for a trail that will take you into the woods. And clearing another part of the property for an Exit booth that will have photo ops. And about to build a real outhouse for our actors. Just like you, so many projects!!!
      I am looking forward to seeing your werewolf.

    Amazing to say the least. I would like to make one 3 x 3ft. What is your suggestion for the base sphere, chicken wire?

    • @brownbettybrown1
      @brownbettybrown1  6 років тому

      Sarah Kramer Thanks Sarah, you could use chicken wire for your armature base, or you could fill a large plastic garbage bag with crumpled paper. Hope this helps, Happy Haunting and Thanks for watching 🎃

    Hi Cathy, I was just wondering which way you recommend is best to seal paper mache pumpkins as I’m currently making some but in the UK it’s very rainy in October (and the rest of the year, lol!) thank you! 😊🎃

    • @brownbettybrown1
      @brownbettybrown1  5 років тому +1

      We had a very rainy October, my pumpkins did not hold up well, so I took the advice of others and changed the way I seal. After the claywork dries, seal with a deck sealer, (sometimes you can find it in the oops paint section at a hardware store.)Then basecoat in exterior paint, dry brush to finish, then spar urethane. I just put out a brand new paper mache pumpkin showing these steps, here’s the link:

      Thanks fur watching Happy Haunting!🎃

    Amazing! Would you be upset if someone took this tutorial, made rotten jacks from your idea, and started to sell them on etsy? Some guy is doing that with my fire pit tutorial. I asked him to link my you tube video on his etsy but he won't do it.

    • @brownbettybrown1
      @brownbettybrown1  6 років тому +1

      ThatBarbGirl Thanks! No worries here about someone using my ideas. My whole reason for doing these videos from the start is to inspire, what they do after that matters not to me. Thanks much for watching🎃🐝

    • @ThatBarbGirl
      @ThatBarbGirl 6 років тому

      Cathy LeBeau I don't mind people using my ideas. That's why I did the video. What I don't like is someone using my ideas, claiming them as their own and then making money from them. To me that's just awful.
