Who doesn't love Halloween? I love creating my own cool amazing cheap Halloween props! Most of my DIY Halloween props are made from paper mache, because it's cheap and easy to work with! I think you will find this video on how to make an amazing Halloween pumpkin very useful.
How to make a paper mache pumpkin 2nd Generation part 3. In this step we will unstuff the pumpkin, fix any cracks, add detail to the stem , and add some pumpkin guts to the mouth.
Supplies you will need to complete this step are as follows.
1. An X-Acto knife
2. Toilet paper
3. paper mache paste
4. Cotton balls
5. Paper clay
The first thing we will do is cut a hole in the bottom of the pumpkin so we can remove all the stuffing. Once we have the stuffing out of the pumpkin, check over the outer surface of the pumpkin for cracks. If you find cracks just fill them in with a little paper clay.
Using an X-Acto knife or some other form of knife, cut out the mouth and eyes of your pumpkin. Now using some toilet paper and paper mache past we are going to add details to the stem. Its very easy to do. After you have your stem detailed out we will add the pumpkin guts to the mouth.
Using cotton balls dipped into paper mache past, you will stretch them out and apply them to the inside (back side) of the pumpkins mouth.
Now that you have the detail to the stem and the pumpkin guts in the mouth once again set your paper mache pumpkin out to dry.

The pumpkins that you make, are they waterproof?..
They are not what I would call totally waterproof. However all the pumpkins I make go out in the yard for 30 days. I don’t bring them in they get all the weather thrown at them
