How to fit load resistors to LED indicator/turn signals
Bulb types are:
Stop and tail, red 1157
Indicator, amber 1156
Fog, red 1156

I tried to upgrade the front lights and the position leds just flashed on and off !! The dipped beam did the same so i had to then buy resistors !! I just changed the small ones back to norms !!
Aye, Merc are a bit more complicated cos they have an LCM so can do all sorts of weird shit

Thanks I found that. I’m ordering the second ones you ordered. Found them on eBay. Was wondering if the auxito amber ones would work without flashing fast like yours did as it states they have Built-in load Resistor & IC Driver
@@JAYP4610 quite probably. I think they’re definitely worth giving a go. If you do order those ones and fit them, please do let us know the model/part number of them and if they require a load resistor or not. I’ll add it into the video description.

Suppose you could put dual reverse bulbs in, with a wire across taking the position of the original fog light, since you have the bumper lights installed?
I considered it. I wouldn’t even need to put a wire across as I’m pretty sure the whole loom to goes through this light anyway. I’d just just to pull the fog wire out of the terminal and stick the reverse one into it. I only didn’t do it cos I went to the effort of fitting diodes to the bumper lights so they work as side lights, fog lights and brake lights 😆
Hi, Mate, I now have sorted the 107 speaker out. but a couple days ago. my bloody airbag light came on..I know it's a common fault with these type of cars. most likely under the seat cables or connectors.. I had a look through your videos, can't see any of yours video about how to disconnect this plugs as I can't undo it. By the way, can you also advice if I fix this problem and if I can 😊clear this fault light without OBD 2? Thanks in advance.
If I remember right it’s just a plug but needs a clip pushing to release. Once you fix the fault, it will likely reset itself. Airbag faults usually reset every time the ignition is turned on

As an alternative to the load resistors for the indicators, could you change the relay for one of those adjustable ones?
Possibly, or just add another bulb and stick it inside the car or some shit. Seen that before on bikes haha. Not sure where the relay is on them, most cars have modules with it all built in with other functions these days though

Hi mate, great video as always. Have you thought about sourcing a European rear light cluster so you have a pair of reverse lights? My Uncle did this on his XR2i years ago. He mounted a pair of front fog lights hidden under the rear valance as reverse lights, and bought a tail light from Germany, so he had 2 rear fogs in the clusters.
That car was reasonably modded, but the rear lights always got the most attention at shows. The symmetry is satisfying. 😎
I’ve taken out the red lens so I’ve pretty much done that lol. Only thing is I’ve not put a white LED in the reverse light and changed the wiring, which I could easily do as I’ve wired the bumper lights to work as brake lights, side lights and fog lights.

I've tried LED conversion for tail lights at intervals over the last decade, never successfully. (bike and car). At best you get a bulb that illuminates with the side lights, and illuminates the same amount with the brakes. ☹️
The most recent bulbs I tried on my Aygo, (which look a lot like yours), don't light up with the side lights, do light up with the brakes and if you then put the side lights on they get brighter? wtf
Anyway, what are these bulbs you're using, where did you get them and just how much more did they cost than the ubiquitous ebay special? 😁
Glad you’re liking the content. I’ve had similar issues when trying LED bulbs in the past, they’re usually pretty wank like the first ones I tried in this video. The ones that worked are from a brand called Auxito. I got them off eBay. Type in Auxito LED and the type of bulb you need and a few sellers do them, and all the ones I bought came as a box of 2. Mine cost about £8 or 9 per pair.
Cost me £11 from ebay, (inflation), I got cheaper ba15s for the fog and reverse, left the indicators as they are for ease...

That does look really good now, especially with that spoiler on the top. Just need to get a replacement bumper for it now or work your magic with a rattle can 😂😂
Needs lowering and wheels, but then I won’t be able to bounce over speed bumps as easily 🤣

Hi. i got a Aygo 2005, and the rear right side stop/driving light bulbs blew two times in 14 days, and now the brake light is always on, on the left side and on top. i checked the connections and wires, can for the love of god not find the error . do you have any experience with this issue?
Is it definitely blown the bulb? The plug into the light as the bulb holders can corrode and give bad connections. This can stop it working and also blow bulbs as vibrations cause it to connect and disconnect over and over again effectively turning the bulb on and off heating and cooling the filament causing it to break.

Hi mate. There’s a few different sellers that do them on eBay. Just type in “Auxito led” and then a few options come up. The eBay listings I bought them from have probably changed by now

They’re all still good mate, apart from the Philips ones I fitted to the Volvo aaaaaages ago
@@StupidBlokeStupidVideos I'm considering fitting some better bulbs to my Fiat I've tried some LED DRLs and number plate bulbs but it pings up as bulb failure on the dash so I'm going to have to stick with the traditional bulbs
@@joebloggs3629 stick a resistor in parallel like I did with the indicator lights. That should work

Nah, it’s red but it’s just a shit bulb and looks orange compared to the vivid red of the decent bulbs lol

Not all of the bulbs are 1157. The brake lights are, but the indicators, reverse and fog lights are 1156.
Just as a heads up as I've ordered all the wrong bulbs, didn't check myself and now I'm stuck with the wrong bulbs 🤦♂
Without watching it back I can’t be sure, but didn’t I say the bulb types at point in the video? I recollect explaining about the twin filament on the stop and tail and the others being single and not mattering which way about they go but it was a while ago and I’m not sure now 🤔

I've managed to to a bodge job and snip off one of the pins and they fit in pretty tightly without any issue.

LED have polarity, I always search for one's that don't have it. Also CANBUS one's, so they don't give error. Feel bad about cars behind you. They gonna go blind
Yes LED do have polarity but they are pretty much always correct in this type as the standard bulbs are centre positive. It’s just the 501 type that it matters on and they can just be flicked round 180. Every bulb I bought was supposed to be error free but unfortunately none of them were. I suspect without spending a lot on them I’d struggle to find any that truly were. I forgave the auxito ones for not being cos the light out of them is really good, nice spread in the original lens with decent brightness and good colour. They’re bright but they’re not painfully bright, just about the same as any nee car on the road that has LED tail lights as standard.

Then you find some disgruntled MOT guy fails your lights on the test for not outputting the correct light colour (like what happened to me). Plus had to put everything back to standard for them to pass it on the re-test !! 😩 😡
What did you fit? The one ones that I have fitted in my car that will fail MOT are the headlight bulbs, but I just swap them over to standard bulbs for the test, the rest are fine for MOT
To be honest, they weren’t rear bulbs. It was a set of those Philips 200% brighter white, headlight bulbs. MOT tester said they weren’t emitting a bright enough light plus poor light cut off. Great video by the way. 👍🏻😎
