Another stonking lesson on home car improvements. I just love the time taken to prep before starting the job, no rolls of brown paper here aka Mike and Ed masking up, who needs it ffs, life is too short. This is a brilliant watch, educational and informative. Just like most of us would do it as well.⛔ Keep em coming mate. 🚗
Cheers mate. With this kind of thing the results depend on the prep, and as there was no prep the results were as expected 😂
When I done mine with the sealey kit, I actually did mask it up well, or so I thought.
It was only after I polished the car, did I see all the lacquer oversprayed on the wings 🤪
@@philipscott1128 I think it was the Sealy kit I used last time but I didn’t lacquer them after. This is the vid.

wanting to do this to my c1 tomorrow so great to find a vid handling this c1 headlight action! thanks!
Cheers mate. Spend a little bit more time than I did and I reckon it could be a really good job tbh. Even better if you can coat them in 2k lacquer.
As ever Sir Tim of Shaw, you have presented another automotive, technical masterclass in Shitter improvements........i doff my cap to you good Sir 🎩
That's a fair job, certainly better than before. I have done this to my 107 but using a temporary lacquer , I'm gonna get me some varnish. Great tip as usual.
Aye, it’s better than it was just a bit disappointed with the cracking on the n/s one 🤷♀️
My 107 headlight lenses are in a terrible state! VERY cloudy. It's a 2007 car. Are the 107's prone to that happening? It's actually getting dangerous driving at night. Headlights seem so dim. I was going to get new lenses but no idea where from. Is this worth doing with a kit then?
I’ve run out of lacquer, and I’ve run out of motivation. Sounds like every paint job I’ve half arsed attempted 💪🏻
Cheap(er)skate I-live-in-a-desert version I did yesterday that worked out pretty well: 600 grit dry sandpaper followed by T-cut (repeat a few times), clear lacquer then T-cut (probably just removed the lacquer tbh, but my logic was it'd fill in any remaining scratches), wax & polish finish.
Yes to car detail!!! I need some cleaning tips for my shitter!!! Haha can’t wait to do my headlights 👍
I might try my hand at it then, but don’t just expect it to be any good 😂
Better than buying the kit in it lol great vid again 👌
@@shackwishprice6924 I think the polishing kits do look a little bit better, but don’t last anywhere near as long
Nice video :-) any idea if new replacement lenses are available on there own (not the complete unit)
I’ve not seen them, however I do have a set to fit to my bmw at some point.
Massive improvement 👍🏻great tutorial
I definitely believe it was the residue from the underpants that got rid of the dullness anyway!!
Yellow lights are the future ! or crazy paving ones ! either way so funny :)
How is the clear varnish working? As its 1-component. I thought 2-component is the ideal for best result in the long run but more expensive. Any thoughts?
It’s just acrylic, 2k would be better. It’s holding up well so far though
I like the underpants lol. I wanted to do this on my Citroen just worried that it is getting cold might not be a good idea
I'd love to get a Mk2 driver's seat for my '05 C1, as it's an easy, comfortable swap.
But it will be difficult to find a 3dr seat locally.
@@albertsmith1048 The one on the right is where you sit if you’re driving 😂
@@albertsmith1048 The Mk2 seats have slight bolsters & are height adjustable, model dependent.
3 door front seats have the tilt & slide mechanism, to allow access to the rear. Whereas the 5 door model didn't have this.
According to the forums, they are supposed to be much more comfortable than the flat slab Mk1 seats.
Hi, заметил что у тебя колесо переднее левое завалено, у меня такая же фигня, не знаешь в чем причина?
Здравствуй. Я не уверен, что вы имеете в виду, я думаю, что перевод может быть плохим?
@@StupidBlokeStupidVideos Camber is not regulated on our cars, so when it is negative, this is some kind of shift, only where it is not clear, I thought maybe you know)
Another way of doing this is by using t-cut that removes scratches that works just as well and you dont need to worry about scratches from sand paper
I do that in another video. It works but doesn’t get rid of all of the oxidisation
@StupidBlokeStupidVideos ahh mine might not have been as bad then cause I was able to bring them up well with t-cut cracking video though it's my first car and it's good I enjoy it
It would look better if you lacquered the entire car to match 👍
@@StupidBlokeStupidVideos "yes"! That would be "better" ... i also would like to see a video where you take the whole car apart and put it back together again without looking at the instructions.
I usually just bang some compound on the polisher n buff over, only takes 5 mins. Problem is you need a polisher, pads and compound 🤣
I used the same technique in a restore kit on the other c1. Came up well but after 18 month it’s dulled a bit again, still looks ok though and better than before I did it.
@@StupidBlokeStupidVideos I know what you mean. I usually bung some wax or windscreen sealant on after, lasts a bit longer then.
Another excellent video. Thanks 😊
It’s worth remembering rule #1 of wet & dry club: When you drop the wet & dry paper on the ground, don’t throw it away, simply divide the grit number by 10 and carry on regardless. YES!
YES. I wish I had of put that explanation into the video 😂😂
