    Our video about Roberto Duran: ua-cam.com/video/3l7_tUXbrVs/v-deo.html
    And Thomas Hearns: ua-cam.com/video/iwMsec3wvvY/v-deo.html
    In the 80s, a remarkable rivalry unfolded in the world of boxing when four outstanding champions in adjacent weight classes competed to determine the best, engaging in nine bouts among themselves. This period is now referred to as the era of the "Four Kings."

    Sugar Ray Leonard's speed and accuracy were legendary, but his footwork and ability to string together long, varied combinations were a thing of beauty. Sugar Ray always amazed me. He would fight for 15 rounds but in the interview afterwards, you couldn't tell. He would talk like he just walked in.

    My past dad sometimes talked about "Sugar" Ray Leonard as one of the greatest boxers. I was born in 1978. Now I know why he said that. :) And we are Finnish btw.

    That sparring session against that amateur gave an interesting insight into Leonard's pysche. When the guy had a go at Leonard, he was a bit affronted and put him firmly in his place, almost like "do you know who the fuck I am?".
    He was a savage in the ring in his prime, for all his fancy skills and good looks....

    Boxing used to be so much fun in the 70's, 80's and early 90's; these men were superstars, but what I didn't know is that some of these men were making more money than athletes in other sports like basketball, American football or soccer.

    • @bencasey624
      @bencasey624 Місяць тому +2

      You must be young. Duran was a lightweight most of his career. He fought him in his prime. Hagler was a middleweight. Which Floyd never fought. And never was out of his prime

    • @matt7matt722
      @matt7matt722 Місяць тому +2

      @bencasey624 That was never practical because Floyd never fought as high as Middleweight and most importantly Hagler and Floyd fought in different eras, lol.
      Also by his own admission, Sugar Ray said that he only took the Hagler fight, because he could see that Hagler wasn't the same fighter. Especially after his war with Magabi, which was a great fight.
