Here's my biggest question about this show...what's the main difference between a plan and a "cockamamie scheme?" I'm not saying that having a well-thought out plan is a bad thing, mind you. I'm just saying that the show seems to try and tell people that any kind of scheme, even when the reasons are pure, are stupid. But the way I see it, one must ALWAYS stay several steps ahead of their opponents and coming up with weird ideas is the BEST way to catch them off guard (as Glomgold has proven...surprisingly)

It's funny looking back at the previous season finales. Both are big in scale, but the first one feels smaller and centered on the family, while this second one was a big battle that involved everyone we've come to know and love. Without spoiling much, I think the series finale manages to combine both of these formulas.
i kinda hope they bring back the show. We didn't get to resolve that plotpoint about the OG Darkwing actor kinda being evil now. (but I mostly just want more Della cuz she's great lmao)
Also, ducktales finale theory... so, remember when the harp said Barkley was still lying to webby? I feel like she this could have something to do with webby’s parents or other family members I noticed April, may, and June in the promo, except it only ever shows two of them, and usually with webby. What if this is what Beasley was lying to her about. What if webby is the third one?

This was a show that knew how to do a season finale. The first season finale was really good with its emotional core, The season two finale was just hilarious in the season three finale (also the series finale) gave us one final grand adventure which tied up a lot of the loose ends
I'd put Shadow War on par with this finale, I loved both episodes. I haven't been catching season 3 as it was airing but I'm STOKED for the release on Disney+, and the fact that this will lead into a Darkwing Duck spinoff is pretty awesome. I'm currently making my own cartoon, Beck and Gwen, and DuckTales is a big inspiration for it in a lot of elements and I'm super excited for the day I'll be able to pitch it. Btw, what film school do you go to? I'm only in 8th grade, but I'm stoked about creating cartoons in my future as a creator and showrunner, so I'd like to know where you would recommend finding great education
That's so awesome!!! Best of luck on your cartoon! I go to UCF in Florida, not really a film school but they do have a good program. I'd recommend looking into whatever film school option is cheapest, as expensive film school really doesn't help you much more than inexpensive film school. You get more experience just practicing making stuff at home like you're doing than going to school itself!
I love this finale but there’s one thing that doesn’t make any sense? 2:24 that line! Considering the fact the last episode left off with Della finding out the invasion was coming and this episode starts with Della telling Scrooge you would think that these episodes take place on the same day. After all why would Della wait to tell Scrooge. Louie’s line here doesn’t make any sense because it implies that Della found out a week ago that the invasion was coming and didn’t tell anyone until A week later
First season would be about Dewey, second mostly about Louie, third mainly about Hewey, and the forth was either gonna be about Webby or everyone as a whole
I grew up watching the original DuckTales and I absolutely LOVE this one. I like that it is different than the other one but still pays homage to it as well as other shows that aired during that time.
Selene is the goddess of the moon, it's interesting that she didn't do anything until the very end by informing Captain Lunaris that this is now the earth's new moon.
Another damn good episode is "The Last Crash of the Sunchaser"...it hits HARD. And I hope Darkwing Duck 2021 takes place in the same continuity, Ducktales left the Negaduck and Clone-Steelbeak plots open, so it's the perfect opportunity to bring them back considering they were villains in the original Darkwing.
The 2nd Dimension: The Season 2 Finale was THE BEST Ducktales Season 3 Finale: and you thought that was good P.S.: Its out on Hulu for a bit so if you haven't seen it STOP AND GO WATCH SEASON 3 OR SKIP TO THE FINALE RN I DONT CARE

Okay. If it is set up in advance it is no an Ex-Machina. Deus Ex-Machina refers to something that comes out to resolve a problem while having never been set up as part of the story. If it was set up, then it is a payoff. Not a Ex-Machina.

It felt like Bradford came out of nowhere. when Della and the moon has been the main thing that’s been happening since season one episode one and that ending fight is my favorite scene in any show ever

I respectfully disagree, not that any of your rhetoric is invalid; personally, I was hoping for something a little better with this finale. Admittedly, it's about on-par with the quality, workmanship, and budget of DuckTales (2017), so I shouldn't be expecting more. However, I still wouldn't quite call it "perfect." Perhaps the largest criticism I have against this finale is that all of the key elements feel a bit incoherent. There's a lot going on in this finale, between all of the characters, developments, and generally lengthy plot. That's not a bad thing, but it feels like the writers struggled to put all of the pieces together in a single story. It breaks the flow of the plot. A much smaller criticism (but one I want to mention) is that I feel like the "Moon Theme" (from the NES DuckTales games) was a bit underutilized. It had been used previously throughout the show and ended up being the melody for Della's lullaby. While it was used some in the final battle, I personally think they should have made it a lot more prominent for some of the more climatic action scenes. This show doesn't have very many recurring musical themes; I personally think they missed the mark by not making better use of this one. It's been a long time now since I've watched this finale, so I can't say for certain what else I wasn't entirely happy with. If you are curious for what I might consider a perfect season finale, however, look no farther than the Season 2 finale to Star Wars: Rebels, "Twilight of the Apprentice." That finale is my favorite thing from the whole franchise.
So first the MCU copied the climax of the Avengers from Across the 2nd Dimension and then Ducktales season 2 finale copied the climax from both Infinity War and Endgame? Makes me wonder who came up with the original idea so that we don't have to compare and contrast.
The entire section with Glomgold’s plan was my favorite comedic moment in the whole series. Just seeing the plan actually working made me laugh so hard I got black spots in my vision.
Perfect as this ending is, in my head this is how it ends... In the Castle episode where Webby tries to save the McDuck Clan she is obsessed with (and statues come to life), she gives a final glance at the end to the empty pedestal where the next great McDuck will be. Due to Magic Reasons she gets a vision of the future, but it ends before she can recognise the statue there. She assumes it must be Scrooge. Then at the end of the entire show, after the credits Lena offers to show Webby something, now that she knows her origin. The vision reappears and Webby realises that the future statue is her adult self. With her intelligence, toughness, family, inheritance and compassion, Webby realises she will go on to surpass Scrooge as the greatest Adventurer and McDuck clan member.
well tbh the episode could have been better if penumbra sacrificed herself at the end to save everyone. (it could have ended her character arc pretty well)

The finale was a very Webby centric episode. Would we've get a Webby season if there were more?

I'd say there was a fair bit of Webby stuff interspersed throughout all three seasons, focused on her finding various forms of family for herself.

I think is wasn’t satisfying didn’t have good arch’s for many of the characters.
Gosh the CGI on this show is so stellar and really blends into the art style.
It feels as though glomgolds character this season sets him up to die a hero.
