FYI you should always make sure your wire nuts cap up so that way moisture can't drip down into the cap and cause rest or corrosion on the contacts of the wires

I know Steve is narrating the video for us - but he reminds me of how I talk out loud to myself when I'm working on something. We have 216 First Co units where I work that I take care of. The evap coils leak like crazy. The outside units are through the wall so everything about them is easy to work on. If it wasn't for the leaky evap coils I wouldnt have to mess with them much. They were all installed in 2011 and 2012 when the buildings were built and so far not much as gone wrong with them. I've had to change maybe 5 compressors throughout the years, an occasional fan motor here and there, nothing out if the ordinary. The outdoor coils get dirty fairly quickly but it's nothing a water hose can't handle.

One thing I can tell you. In South Africa you will never ever see loose wires and connectors hanging loose like that on ANY equipment. All wiring has to come off a buss board and every wire had to be neatly run and fixed in place so no wires hang around like a bowl of spaghetti. Also I have NEVER seen a red and a black wire go in and out of a switch. All switched are on the live wire RED in this country.

It beats having to replace that transformer when the contactor shorts out. Great idea Steve! Why doesn’t the factory put these fuses in to begin with? They don’t cost that much.

Suggestion: Buy you a pair of yellow Ideal or Klein strippers you'll thank me. Oh, 42 year Electrician so I don't know who the electrician there was but his trouble shooting skills are shameful and I know quite a few I wouldn't trust to screw in a light bulb, but yours are top notch. I fix my own equipment so when it comes to A/C I watch you as your a straight shooter. I was a Service Tech on restaurant equipment repair for 4 years. That's where I learned trouble shooting well as you ran into all types of issues. I also worked as a shift electrician at a coal yard. 4160v, 480-277v, 120-208v, relays PLC, and a hell of a lot of other stuff most never get to see let alone work on. I figure you can always learn something from others specifically when they know their shit. I appreciate your videos. You stepped into another shit show mama. Quick note: Electrician that's the spelling. Secondly, A lot of Electricians I know can run conduit, run a circuit for a light, switch, receptacle but not much more in they way of anything technical. It all depends on who you work for and what type of work they mostly do. That being said most don't need to attempt trouble shooting as they SUCK AT IT!
