Mainly just trying to help new Garmin users with basic setup. Hope to dig in deeper in 2022. As with any electronics there’s always more than one way to do it. Thanks for the support

I am absolutely sure that I will get more out of this unit because of your videos and the spreadsheets then I ever would have without them

This video is fantastic!! Thank you for taking the time to make it. You have definitely earned my subscription and I look forward to watching your other videos and upcoming ones as well
best tutorial out there!! Question: Can i have quickdraw contours on one side of the screen and traditional, clearview, or sideview on the other half of the screen. If i can please, i would like to know how to do it step by step.
Hi Carl, please send me an email to doubletfishing@outlook.com and I’ll reply back with the sheets attached and sign you up for the monthly newsletter, have a great day!!
I have the Garmin Vivid 9 series I like it pretty good but I don't want to I just want to know the best settings for it and it's also side view too also thank you for helping me
Hi Jeremy, unfortunately I don’t have a vivid series but just my rule of thumb for clear and side vu is to start with the lowest frequency available and work with the contrast and brightness to find a nice picture then switch to the higher frequency if it has one and raise the contrast and brightness again to dial it in. If the higher frequency won’t dial in you might be too deep or looking out to the side too far. Higher frequencies won’t reach out as far. For best results travel in a straight line 4-6 mph with scroll speed in auto. Give that a try!!
Hello your doing a very good job helping the beginners like me. I'm new to Echomap I have a 93sv I'm going to use for Crappie fishing/catfishing. The question I have is where do you view the lake maps on the 93sv? I will be fishing Toledo Bend this summer and was wanting to view the lake map through the 93sv.
You can view in maps by opening the fishing chart and expanding the screen out using to fingers(spread fingers apart) then move the area of the lake towards the center of the screen and pinch in with your fingers. It may have to load the area of the lake, just touch the square the lake is in. Set a waypoint at the ramp or something, that will make it easier to find in the future. You can also do it in active captain, easier than sitting in the boat. Have a great day!!
Hi Double T, I finished 50% set up to my ECHOMAP but I stop where you set up Sonar because nothing comes up may be I am not hooked up my transducer I don't know, but generally very good presentation even with my limit capacity (from Ukraine 30 years ago), it's new for me but I try do my best.
I recommend setting the transducer type to “Auto” in the video so might try putting in your transducer type and see if it will let you move forward with putting in settings. If not you may need to wait until you can connect it. Try it and let me know if that worked?
Hey Larry, I can’t send them through a message, if you would send me an email to doubletfishing@outlook.com or sign up for the newsletter and it will send you a download link, thanks for watching. mailchi.mp/a2a9cda72675/double-t-fishing-newsletter-sign-up
You would probably use north up on the map orientation, might want a compass tape on top or bottom in the overlay sections. As far as the sonar settings the split screen zoom and bottom lock in clear vu may be good in deep water. I didn’t go into establishing routes very deep so that would be worth looking at a little harder, have a great day!!
These videos are fantastic.ive learned alot fro them.thank you for taking time to do these.you dont know how much it helps the average joe.i have a question.i lost my owners manual " wife" i wanted to take it onboard with me & go thru it.do you know where i could get another one? This should take you to the Echomap UHD owners manual. If you go to Garmin.com \ marine\ chartplotters and find your model at the very bottom it will have the link to the manuals. A little harder to find them but if you go to customer services they have a link to the manuals, just have to type in your serial number and download the pdf file www8.garmin.com/manuals/webhelp/echomapuhd/EN-US/GUID-D00F4091-7B72-4CA4-8EB1-4FC02EADE94A-homepage.html

Sure thing, if you’ll send me an email to doubletfishing@outlook.com I’ll reply back with the files attached and add you to the monthly newsletter list. Thanks for watching!!
I take screenshots with my Echomap all the time. They save to my SD card. All you do is hold the HOME button down. Then upload your SD card to your PC and it wil be in the scrnshot folder.
@@DoubleTFishing Thank you! I appreciate it. I saw on another channel this guy said set scroll speed to 7-8 for more accurate readings. I have mine set to 1 as I troll at 1mph but he said the brush I mark is then 10 feet behind me. Have you tested this?
No I haven’t but that doesn’t sound right, I troll at 4-6 mph, pause the screen, take a drink, etc before I mark the point and it seems accurate. Sounds like he’s marking his boat position rather than using the cursor when the screen is paused. It’s a pretty common thing people do ua-cam.com/video/hsjaYcCYXyc/v-deo.html
Personally I leave my scroll speed in auto, I used to use the manual but kept forgetting to change it from searching with the big motor to mopping up front with the trolling motor, what format do the screen shot images download in? The recordings are an RSD file I have to use Garmin home port to view.
Yes there are some differences in network settings and selections like frequency but the basic file structure would be the same for finding a particular setting as far as I know and have seen on other videos, I can send you the spreadsheet for reference if you want.
I would put in powerboat, when you put in sailboat it may make assumptions about having a keel. In the end I don’t think it matters unless your navigating routes or something like that. Believe it or not that is a common question. Have a great day!!
Love your videos I fish the gulf and got a 93sv echomap and fish pretty deep 70 ' having trouble really seeing bottom real clear ,just watched one of your video where you talked about pic. Advance going to try go up to 2/1 see if that helps ,any other help would be appreciated, again thanks for your videos
Might play around with the scroll speed when you do that. Soft bottoms don’t give great returns on the images. All of the real good images I get are in the hard bottom portions of the lake. Let me know if you get it dialed in and what is effective in deeper water, I’m mainly fishing 30’ or less
Hi Scott, I believe you can make a map anywhere on water with the QuickDraw contours, you don’t need a special map card it will save it to your existing active captain card. As far as transferring and using the map other than in your chartplotter probably won’t work
@@DoubleTFishing So the active captain card is a blank sd card that gos in the slot that is also for another areas map card ( offshore card or south America card )right?
It’s not a blank card, when you set up your unit it will prompt you to install a blank card 32GB or less and ask if you want to create an “active captain” card. That card is used to store and transfer your user data, waypoints, tracks, routes, QuickDraw maps and revision data. I am a little fuzzy on how to integrate a purchased map card if you only have one SD card slot, might call Garmin support they are very helpful and always call back if you use the call back feature (normally within 45 minutes) dial 800 800-1020
I have a problem with 93vs on side image. The right of the screen is really bright, and the left side is way darker. Not even if I change either side to match will they be the same darkness. And hooked up a new 93 uhd to the transducer and works great, so it's in the unit old one. Setting problem?
What happened when you flipped left/right? The only time I heard of the left side dark is when the motor is trimmed all the way down. My motor doesn’t get in the way. Wonder if the connection to the cradle is loose or corroded, might have got a better connection with the new unit when you plugged it in
My motor doesn't come close . I can move it to the front cradle or the rear, makes no difference. This happened the first time I took it to the lake. And i was switching settings a lot . And then this problem showed its face.
At this point I’d call Garmin, they are really good about replacing faulty equipment. I heard a few times of bad transducers acting as you described but since the other plugs in and work fine is puzzling. I take for granted the clear vu and traditional are fine so it’s not reading a good signal I guess. Use the Garmin call back feature, they will get ahold of you within an hour 800 800-1020
One more if you do not mind. If I do a factory reset, what about my Bluechart G3 chip? Does that get deleted too when doing the reset? Other than taking out the SD card with the chart info and putting back after I do the reset, will the chart info still show up?
I’m not honestly sure, on that I’d call Garmin to verify what is lost during a reset. I would think you would pull your map chip out before reset. The number is 800 800 1020
Quick question and maybe I’m missing something, but when I turn on “magnify” I get a constant magnification box that I can’t pinch closed or open and can only move it around on the screen. Wonder what I’m doing wrong or if anyone else has this issue? Thank you
That is how that works function works, you can adjust the magnification x2, x3 etc inside the box. If you want full screen magnification it is different depending on if you are in traditional, clear or side vu. Here’s a video I did awhile back that might help. ua-cam.com/video/km1j_I7lBZ0/v-deo.html
That’s odd? It’s a setting in the Home Screen called transducer type. I have a free spreadsheet I can send you this evening with the menu structure. Email me at doubletfishing@outlook.com.
Screen capture option.. i found out by pure luck..you hold the menu button on the lower bar (right lower corner of the screen) and saves a screen shot.
Yes sir it does, getting the image or recording to appear on the computer can be challenging. I have a video in the que to cover some of that. Thanks for watching!!
Hi Nancy, I don’t have settings for the livescope but I do have all the basic settings for charts, clear vu, side vu, traditional and the Home Screen if that would help? Email me doubletfishing@outlook.com and I’ll reply back with the files attached, have a great day!!!
Nice video , thank you . 1 question , (echomap95SV uhd) in Navigation mode , why its guide me to drive through the land , not by the water :) ??? Did i miss something ???
No that’s what it does unless you build a route. The lake depth contours are not “real time” you could run into shallow water if water is down in level. Have a great day!
Great question, I’m not sure if the gauge screen can be shared with sonar? You might give product support a call 800 800-1020, use the call back feature and they normally respond within an hour
You bet, it is currently updated to version 24.20. Just send me an email to doubletfishing@outlook.com with your unit model and I’ll reply back with the sheets attached this evening after work Have a great day!!
Hi Rebecca, please send me an email and I’ll reply back with the spreadsheet attached, email: doubletfishing@cableone.com If you had previously sent an email check the spam and junk folders, they sometimes end up in there, thanks Rick
When the unit is up and running, you quickly press and release the button and no option to diasable all sonar at the bottom? On all my echomap units it works. If you hold it too long a different shutdown menu come up.
I don’t think so, the blue and brown wires in the power cord don’t work on an echomap for networking. Are you saying your units don’t have an Ethernet slot?
I never tried to run them connected through the WI-FI, the signal doesn’t reach but a few feet. I’ve only used it for updates using the active captain app on my phone
I’m not very familiar with the “blue charts” that come with the 94SV and the level of detail they show on coastal waterways. If you are on a fresh water lake you would need the “lake vu” which comes preloaded on the 93SV. Where are you boating?
Email me and I’ll send the latest spreadsheet tonight or tomorrow, I’m on the road right now. Tell me which model please, Doubletfishing@outlook.com Or sign up and you’ll get the links in a few minutes mailchi.mp/a2a9cda72675/double-t-fishing-newsletter-sign-up

No I haven’t but that doesn’t sound right, I troll at 4-6 mph, pause the screen, take a drink, etc before I mark the point and it seems accurate. Sounds like he’s marking his boat position rather than using the cursor when the screen is paused. It’s a pretty common thing people do
ua-cam.com/video/hsjaYcCYXyc/v-deo.html
Personally I leave my scroll speed in auto, I used to use the manual but kept forgetting to change it from searching with the big motor to mopping up front with the trolling motor, what format do the screen shot images download in? The recordings are an RSD file I have to use Garmin home port to view.
Hi , great vid btw.
Would this work for the uhd 95sv with gt 56 transducer ?
Yes it will be very similar, the contrast, brightness and frequency ranges are different, thanks for watching!!
Like said before You splain it 1k better than Manual..Thx you SIR
Thanks Dan!! I appreciate you watching
Is there any difference between the 93 and 106 menus? I still have to try things on the water so it would be nice to have a quick reference.
Yes there are some differences in network settings and selections like frequency but the basic file structure would be the same for finding a particular setting as far as I know and have seen on other videos, I can send you the spreadsheet for reference if you want.
If I’m in a kayak should I put my vessel as sail boat ? Or does it matter ?
I would put in powerboat, when you put in sailboat it may make assumptions about having a keel. In the end I don’t think it matters unless your navigating routes or something like that. Believe it or not that is a common question. Have a great day!!
I would like a copy of the spreadsheet please
Shoot me an email and I’ll reply back with it attached

How do I get a spreadsheet setting from you for my Garmin 93sv?
Email me at Doubletfishingtexas@outlook.com and I’ll reply back with the sheets attached, have a great day!
Double T Is the best with braking down how to
Thanks, have a great day!!!
Can you save a made map if you have a map disk in the unit? (unit has built in lakes, I need off shore maps and would like to make my own maps also)
Hi Scott, I believe you can make a map anywhere on water with the QuickDraw contours, you don’t need a special map card it will save it to your existing active captain card.
Could I please get a copy of the spreadsheet for the 93 sv would greatly appreciate it
Might be a while, ive been in the icu almost 30 days. Send an email to doubletfishing@outlook.com
Have a great holiday!
Everything on the cradle and unit looks really nice. No corrosion and pins are nice and straight.
At this point I’d call Garmin, they are really good about replacing faulty equipment. I heard a few times of bad transducers acting as you described but since the other plugs in and work fine is puzzling. I take for granted the clear vu and traditional are fine so it’s not reading a good signal I guess.
Use the Garmin call back feature, they will get ahold of you within an hour
800 800-1020
One more if you do not mind. If I do a factory reset, what about my Bluechart G3 chip? Does that get deleted too when doing the reset? Other than taking out the SD card with the chart info and putting back after I do the reset, will the chart info still show up?
I’m not honestly sure, on that I’d call Garmin to verify what is lost during a reset. I would think you would pull your map chip out before reset. The number is 800 800 1020
When I reset mine it didn’t seem to effect my preloaded maps in the unit but I’m running the lake vu 93sv.
@@DoubleTFishing Do you have an SD card in yours, or just the preloaded lake vu maps?
Just the preloaded maps
Quick question and maybe I’m missing something, but when I turn on “magnify” I get a constant magnification box that I can’t pinch closed or open and can only move it around on the screen. Wonder what I’m doing wrong or if anyone else has this issue? Thank you
That is how that works function works, you can adjust the magnification x2, x3 etc inside the box. If you want full screen magnification it is different depending on if you are in traditional, clear or side vu. Here’s a video I did awhile back that might help.

@@DoubleTFishing thank you sir for your response. With your help I was able to figure it out. Thank you again for all the great information.
Did I miss something? How do I select my Transducer? Where is that located? I seem to lose my transducer often.
That’s odd? It’s a setting in the Home Screen called transducer type. I have a free spreadsheet I can send you this evening with the menu structure. Email me at doubletfishing@outlook.com.
How do I turn on that sidebar on my 2d that looks like a flasher? I don't know how to do this but I see some people have it on
It’s called A-scope, look in the traditional menu, I show it in this video. Thanks for watching!!
ua-cam.com/video/ChGpLezJj78/v-deo.html
@@DoubleTFishing thank you
Will most of these setting work with the UHD 73SV?
Yes they will, just a smaller screen as far as I know they are the same file structure, thanks for watching!!
Love the videos, gonna email you. I dont have instagram on my phone anymore.
Just send it to doubletfishing@outlook.com, thanks for watching!!
@@DoubleTFishing
Screen capture option.. i found out by pure luck..you hold the menu button on the lower bar (right lower corner of the screen) and saves a screen shot.
Yes sir it does, getting the image or recording to appear on the computer can be challenging. I have a video in the que to cover some of that. Thanks for watching!!
How do i get a copy of the spreadsheet? I've sent a couple of emails requesting but haven't heard back. Thanks
They went into the junk folder for some reason I apologize, I’ll get it out to you this morning, thanks for watching Lynn!!
@@DoubleTFishing Thank you Sir!
Should be in your inbox Lynn
@@DoubleTFishing got it.
Sir how can I get a copy of your livescope chart?
How can I get your settings spread sheet?
Hi Brian, shoot me an email doubltfishing@outlook.com, I’m out right now but I’ll get you a copy next week. Have a great holiday season!
Can you see guages when you split the screen ?
Great question, I’m not sure if the gauge screen can be shared with sonar? You might give product support a call 800 800-1020, use the call back feature and they normally respond within an hour
How do I get it to display water temperature
Depends on which screen your in but in the menu look for edit overlay or overlay data under sonar setup
Is it still possible to get the spreadsheet?
You bet, it is currently updated to version 24.20. Just send me an email to doubletfishing@outlook.com with your unit model and I’ll reply back with the sheets attached this evening after work
Have a great day!!
Sorry for the delay. I sent you an email. Hopefully, you got it. Thanks!
Got it!! I’ll send the files tonight
will yuo please send me the chart sheet on the 93sv
Hi Rebecca, please send me an email and I’ll reply back with the spreadsheet attached, email: doubletfishing@cableone.com
If you had previously sent an email check the spam and junk folders, they sometimes end up in there, thanks Rick
How do I get your spreadsheet??????
Send me an email to doubletfishing@outlook.com and I’ll reply back with the files attached
can i get spread sheet if i dont have instagram?
Shoot me an email ricktreon@gmail.com and title it spreadsheet, thanks for watching. It might be a couple days
When I hit the power button there is not an option to disable the sonar. Do you know why? Thanks
When the unit is up and running, you quickly press and release the button and no option to diasable all sonar at the bottom? On all my echomap units it works. If you hold it too long a different shutdown menu come up.
Not getting the shut down screen; I’m getting the same screen your getting “black light”-“color mode”-“lock touchscreen “.
Only time I don’t get the option is when my transducer is unplugged I think
Please send me your spread sheet for the Garmin 93
The files are pretty large, can you send me an email at doubletfishing@gmail.com and I’ll reply with the files attached. Have a great day!!!
How can you network two 93sv units w/o ethernet slot on back.
I don’t think so, the blue and brown wires in the power cord don’t work on an echomap for networking. Are you saying your units don’t have an Ethernet slot?
I never tried to run them connected through the WI-FI, the signal doesn’t reach but a few feet. I’ve only used it for updates using the active captain app on my phone
can i get a copy please
Please send me an email to doubletfishing@outlook.com and I’ll reply back with the sheets attached. Have a great day!
I have bought 94sv but my map doesn't show 1 foot contour. can you please help? thanks
I’m not very familiar with the “blue charts” that come with the 94SV and the level of detail they show on coastal waterways. If you are on a fresh water lake you would need the “lake vu” which comes preloaded on the 93SV. Where are you boating?
Yes I understand. Just trying to find out why I can’t get 1 foot contour. I mainly do salt water, but started trout fishing this year. Thx
Might try the “tides and currents” settings in the charts menu?
Don’t change , my echo Map Chirt 95 SV on touch

Yes it’s active, hmmmm can you send me another message on Instagram with your email address? We have nearly 1000 copies sent out so I know the email works. Have a great day!
@@DoubleTFishing I got it thanks. Sorry for being impatient. Could not wait to try your settings. Images I see are nothing like on UA-cam or simulator. I've been really frustrated with this expensive depth finder...lol.
How bad is it? Make sure you zoom functions are off and your transducer is in the ballpark of level. Is it just type of sonar or all three sidevu clear vu and traditional?
@@DoubleTFishing it's all three, can I send you pictures of transducer to your email which you sent me the spreadsheet?
Yes just send an email.
