    hi and thank you for your video, is there a possibility of improving the resolution on the other hand, my logitech camera is in 4 k, I have fiber, I would like to be able to use my resources 100%!!! :) on zoom the video quality is much better, but on the training center where I work, it's TEAMS that I've set up and which is used ;) not zoom ;) :D thanks again :)

      Thanks for watching. 😸
      No, this isn't possible. Teams manages this automatically based on a number of factors, not just your bandwidth. Same goes with audio bitrate by default.
      Sending a 4K stream to users on the other end when they don't have a fibre connection and also are looking at you and 8 other people on a 2K display is superfluous. Not to mention that doing so puts extra strain on both your CPU and your attendees. This results in worse battery life and hot laptops...
      Zoom does have the option to set your video to HD, but that doesn't mean you are actually sending an HD (720p) stream. You can check your call metrics in the Zoom settings and you will likely see that you are sending 480p most of the time. It seems like it is just allowing you to see a high def preview of your video feed on your end.

      I have seen some instances where the integrated webcam on some laptops does not allow for the customisation shown in this video.

    • @paulomalley
      @paulomalley  6 місяців тому +1

      Hmmm. That's an interesting one. I can't say that I have ever seen that before. But it may be possible that your device doesn't allow full control for the integrated webcam. I have seen that before.
      You could look to connect an external webcam to your computer and see if the options available are different. This would at least confirm it...

    • @paulomalley
      @paulomalley  5 місяців тому +1

      No. There isn't going to be a way to do that.
      The webcams default starting point should be the widest angle the camera offers, and so it physically can't zoom out more than that.

      @@paulomalleymine zooms in more than the original layout. For example when I use Zoom and select HD it zooms out, but on Microsoft Teams, it is zoomed in and not HD and there is no open camera settings.

    • @paulomalley
      @paulomalley  5 місяців тому

      Teams shifts the position and framing of the video feed based on a number of factors. Whilst it looks like the frame is zoomed in, it technically isn't.
      You are technically still sending the same feed out to others as you are in Zoom, however Teams dynamically adjusts the positioning and resolution. For example, there isn't much point having people try to receive a 1080p stream from you when you are only taking up a 480p frame on their screen. Teams is prioritising keeping the call stable.
      Zoom does something similar and you can see this if you open the call details section in settings when you are on a call.

      @@SerrSo Interesting. If you have the Logitech GHub software installed, it may be possible that software is stopping it from applying the changes. If you selected a pre-defined camera mode in the Logitech software, I would suggest changing that back to default and then following the steps in my video again.
      Alternatively, you could look to adjust the camera settings via the Logitech software itself. It has a lot of options, but I haven't messed around with them much myself.

    New Teams does not have the "open camera settings" link in the devices page like classic teams does. Unfortunately, my work organization has already required everyone to move to New Teams and Microsoft will start pushing people in March 2024 to upgrade as well. I already submitted feedback asking for this functionality back.

      If you are using the settings in the Logitech GHub app to adjust your camera settings, those changes should filter through to Teams (exactly like they do in Zoom).

      Oh, sorry. I don't have any experience with that application myself. But the same should still apply. Any changes you make to the Camera in that app should apply inside Teams just like Zoom as the app is literally changing the feed that apps like Zoom/Teams see.
