      Thanks for posting this video Kevin. I'll be downloading OBS this weekend and have a play with the various features. You've given me lots of ideas, particularly with the transparent whiteboard concept.
      The PowerPoint background solution is something that Zoom has built-in to its Share Screen settings. The Zoom PPT background also allows you to appear as a resizable floating head in front of your presentation, but it doesn't recognise any animations or slide transitions that are part of the PowerPoint file. Also, if your deck includes any video files, these won't work when you use Zoom's PPT background feature.
      One idea... Would it be possible to use OBS to display a live Twitterfeed in the background? That could be great for events or industry networking events.
      I've hit the Subscribe button and will be sure to check out your back catalogue of content! Thanks again.... :)

    Some great ideas, thanks. I've been playing around with OBS and Virtual camera with Teams as you shown, one downside is that Teams selects a low bandwidth for virtual cameras and if you want to inclide detail such as web pages with text the quality at the received end is really poor compared to when you share the screen through Teams.

    Hi Kevin, thanks for your very good tutorial. If I test this in my setup, the output video of obs virtual cam is fine at my site, but blurry on the recipient site. A lot of people discussed this problem in the community groups of obs. Could you solve this problems? Thanks for a reply.

  • @christianekhart4557
    @christianekhart4557 3 роки тому +2

    Thanx Kevin. My problem: Whatever I perfectly do with OBS/VirtualCam: I am still locked in the Teams splitting of cropped and low-quality camera video and non-cropped high quality screen share. When using a perfectly mixed video feed I must spotlight AND ask all people to set my video image non cropped (perfectly hidden). And still then I usually do not come higher than 720p - even my source is 1080p. My "way" around: Have a third screen and output OBS signal there - and then screenshare this screen ;-) Far from straight forward...

  • @davidadams421

    Fabulous!! The only thing I would add is that if you setup your 'be right back' video as a separate scene, you can switch between scenes using a keyboard shortcut rather than having to keep the OBS UI open to click the 'eye'. As a future video request, could you run through Teams NDI streaming e.g what you can do with it? _edit: typo_

    Wow!. Great stuff. But a couple of questions/observations. First, can you get rid of the red box around the scrolling credits? Second, can you switch to these effects with keystrokes instead of having to click on menu dropdowns? Third, is there a way to create a default "We'll be back soon" and have a countdown timer so the audience will know how long? I can see this as useful for when you want. to give the audience a break but want them to know how much time they have.

    • @davidadams421
      @davidadams421 3 роки тому

      (1) Red box only shows in the OBS editor. (2) Yes, best to use scenes then switch between them with keys - see File > Settings > Hotkeys. (3) The are thousands of timer apps, also, I think Kevin recommended one on a recent tips'n'tricks video. Just run the timer, import the window. You can also download timer videos i.e. a video displaying a timer. Google 'timer video'.

    Do you know if there’s a way to use an external camera in the Teams mobile app? Specifically, if I’m shooting an employee testimonial video for my company with high quality production gear, I’d love for my team back at the office to be able to observe the interview (hear high quality audio from my Sony camera) and provide input in the Teams chat.
    I know how to accomplish this with Teams on my laptop and a capture device. However, that’s so bulky! In an ideal world, I would go out of my Sony camera, into an Elgato HDMI to USB capture device, then some kind of lightning adapter cable into my phone. Open a Teams meeting on the mobile app and select an external device as my camera and mic.
    This doesn’t seem possible, but I thought I’d check with an expert! If you read this far, thanks for your time!

    8:16 Afer selecting spotlight me, your video was supposed to come to the center, but its the other lady's screen that was spotlighted. Why??
    Question 2, for my webinar, I'm having other guests, so I'm trying to send a video from teams to OBS and from OBS to another teams, but instead, it captures the whole screen and even interactions on the screen.

    Thanks Kevin. This video is really impressing and I love all of the hacks. The one hack I most liked is Hack 1 that's pretty amazing. Great video Kevin. :)

    Very good video!
    Two questions:
    1) what's the magic of green?
    2) I saw there were other colours (blue comes to mind). Can I use blue instead of green?
    Many thanks
