Thanks for posting this video Kevin. I'll be downloading OBS this weekend and have a play with the various features. You've given me lots of ideas, particularly with the transparent whiteboard concept. The PowerPoint background solution is something that Zoom has built-in to its Share Screen settings. The Zoom PPT background also allows you to appear as a resizable floating head in front of your presentation, but it doesn't recognise any animations or slide transitions that are part of the PowerPoint file. Also, if your deck includes any video files, these won't work when you use Zoom's PPT background feature. One idea... Would it be possible to use OBS to display a live Twitterfeed in the background? That could be great for events or industry networking events. I've hit the Subscribe button and will be sure to check out your back catalogue of content! Thanks again.... :)

Very cool. Thankfully I'm admin on my PC so I'll be able to use the OBS tool. Unfortunately 90% of the company is not and will be bummed and/or complain if they see me using unapproved software. Are there any camera hacks you have with built-in Windows 10 tools or MS Office products?
Thanks for the post. I'm kind of happy I was already using 3 of the 5. Definitely going to incorporate credits and glass white as soon as I log in this morning.
Some great ideas, thanks. I've been playing around with OBS and Virtual camera with Teams as you shown, one downside is that Teams selects a low bandwidth for virtual cameras and if you want to inclide detail such as web pages with text the quality at the received end is really poor compared to when you share the screen through Teams.
@@LeandroQuibemMagnabosco a workaround is to project OBS to a window or display, then in Teams screen share that window or display. Works but obviously not an ideal solution.
@@wth101 Yeah, exactly. Teams has been dishing out a ton of new features, but they are not exactly what I want from it. It is still a very good product, though.

Hi Kevin, Greetings from Venezuela. I thank you for allyour videos, they´re o great help.(I lovethem) Allow me to ask a question away from the present topic. Why does a .ppsx presentation changes when you visualize it on your cellphone? Specifically, the slides move forward everytime one touches the screen without paying attention to the hiperlink buttons that are inserted for that purpose. Is there anything I´m missing when I made the presentation on my computer? Thanks in advance for your help
Hi Kevin, thanks for your very good tutorial. If I test this in my setup, the output video of obs virtual cam is fine at my site, but blurry on the recipient site. A lot of people discussed this problem in the community groups of obs. Could you solve this problems? Thanks for a reply. Greetings from Germany!
Thanx Kevin. My problem: Whatever I perfectly do with OBS/VirtualCam: I am still locked in the Teams splitting of cropped and low-quality camera video and non-cropped high quality screen share. When using a perfectly mixed video feed I must spotlight AND ask all people to set my video image non cropped (perfectly hidden). And still then I usually do not come higher than 720p - even my source is 1080p. My "way" around: Have a third screen and output OBS signal there - and then screenshare this screen ;-) Far from straight forward...
Fabulous!! The only thing I would add is that if you setup your 'be right back' video as a separate scene, you can switch between scenes using a keyboard shortcut rather than having to keep the OBS UI open to click the 'eye'. As a future video request, could you run through Teams NDI streaming e.g what you can do with it? _edit: typo_
Hi Kevin, love your videos. Do you have any idea how to freeze the video for a few seconds in teams? This would allow to quickly grab a coffee or so, without having to blank the screen (people would probably think of some internet failure anyways).
@@rishabag8350 not a real solution, but a hack: take a picture of yourself sitting at the computer. Then use it as background effect and close the camera manually - but for this, you need to take a picture every time, so people do not recognize you changed clothes;)

Hi Kevin, it's a very good video thanks very much for sharing. However when I downloaded white board on my laptop it doesn't show up on the drop down list in OBS. Please could you put some light on it.

Wow!. Great stuff. But a couple of questions/observations. First, can you get rid of the red box around the scrolling credits? Second, can you switch to these effects with keystrokes instead of having to click on menu dropdowns? Third, is there a way to create a default "We'll be back soon" and have a countdown timer so the audience will know how long? I can see this as useful for when you want. to give the audience a break but want them to know how much time they have.
(1) Red box only shows in the OBS editor. (2) Yes, best to use scenes then switch between them with keys - see File > Settings > Hotkeys. (3) The are thousands of timer apps, also, I think Kevin recommended one on a recent tips'n'tricks video. Just run the timer, import the window. You can also download timer videos i.e. a video displaying a timer. Google 'timer video'.
