    What do you think? Do you agree the Runcam Split 3 Lite is an improvement?
    HappyModel has stated this is a new board that should not reset below 3v. Sorry for the inaccuracy. 🤦‍♂️

      Hi! What rates do you use? Your ability to fly around your house and through gaps in acro mode is crazy to me. Kinda makes me think i have everything of mine setup wrong lol. Can you do a stick overlay? or use gopro to video your hands and controller while flying around the inside of the house? Thanks!

    The actual FPV DVR feed is so much higher quality than normal FPV cameras. Kebab has pointed this out, and I'm really starting to notice it, that these HD split cameras have way better FPV than others.

    • @lievenvv
      @lievenvv 4 роки тому

      I agree, they look very 'real/cinematic', like the HD footage. The trade-off is (much) less sharpness and dynamic range compared to the best FPV cams out there

    Great review Nick. Can't wait til we can order this camera on its own. Hey, so I "discovered" something about repairing whoop frames. I know you like using Welder, and i've used it with success and like it. I kept on breaking the fix I made to a Shutterbug85 build I did so decided to try something different. I did a Kickstarter thing for a company called Braeön (now called Forj) back in 2017. Its a moldable thermoplastic resin impregnated tape. You just heat it up with a hot air gun, hot water, lighter, hairdryer, etc. Its crazy strong, has some fibers in it that make it almost unbreakable (1000lbs tensile strength). I have a whole bunch of it and decided to try in to fix a whoop frame.....and I must say, that it is probably the best whoop repair i've ever done. Barely had to use any of it and it took about 2 minutes to fix it and have it ready to fly again. I don't see that repair breaking anytime soon. I've got 6 rolls of it. They sell it on Amazon for $20 a roll. You want me to send you some to try out? I'm thinking it can be used for all kinds of stuff in our hobby now that I finally tried it for fixing a whoop. Fixing/making canopies, securing motor wires, molding sma antenna mounts...all kind of stuff. Probably even fix snapped carbon arms/frames. Let me know. This is Luis Hurtado, just changed my UA-cam name the other day, finally.

      Sure, not every quad do we need or want. What did you think of the Runcam split 3 lite? I am curious how much that will cost when it becomes available. I don't think HappyModel chose me for the premier, global shipping has gone wonky. I have packages sent before this but still in Hong Kong. That's a tough choice, amazing flight capability with the regular Mobula 6 versus HD footage and reduced flight capability with the Mobula 6 HD...
    I do know I want HD to record flying through the next set of LED gates I'm intending to make, but I need to find 2 meter LED strings in 5 different, specific colours (red, yellow, blue, pink, orange)

    • @NickBurnsFPV
      @NickBurnsFPV  4 роки тому +1

      Correction, you only need blue LED strings :). I would get this then transfer to a 75mm frame. I expect it to handle much better on 40mm props, and have longer flight times, just like the mobula 6 to mobula 7 1s did.

    • @licensetodrive9930
      @licensetodrive9930 4 роки тому

      @Nick Burns Won't work with just blue, need all 5 colours, it's one of those ideas that if I can get it right, the reactions will be "Awesome! Why didn't I think of that? I wanna make some now!" so the first footage I put out has to be as perfect as possible :) (ordering LED strings tonight)
      That's a great idea on upsizing the frame+props for longer+better flight.

    Gday Nick, its very amazing that this little guy can carry so much more weight, your footage looks very awsome, the hd lite works great, how does it fly compared to the standard mobula 6, does it feel heavy? try a bit of eletrical tape place it on the underside of the sd card itself leave a bit to stick to the micro stack or frame so if it ejects you wont loose it, great review as always mate.👍🛸

    The HD footage looks great, but the FPV Footage is more impressive to me! That Runcam Split 3 is a beast. Im just worried about longevity with these small HD Whoops, they seem to struggle with the added weight which will probably stress out the Electronics more compared to the Mobula 6 for example. Would be really bummed about a dead ESC after only a couple of flights.

    • @NickBurnsFPV

      I do think the performance would improve with quad blades and yes hurt flight time. I think for manufacturers they try to have "different" products from their competitors but also understand a large part of the market wants max flight time. I would expect many wouldn't buy if the flight time is less than 2mins which is likely would with 25000kv motors.

    Hi Nick,
    ive bought one from banggood and the stuff to upgrade it to the 75mm frame. but i keep running in to some Gyro issues
    when i arm the quad, the horizon starts dropping imediatly till about -10 degrees while it is sitting on the ground, level.
    its like you pull back on the stick but i did not even take off.
    it doesnt drift further than 10 degrees, it just drops slowely (1deg/s) and then sits there.
    the sticks are nice and level on the 1500 mark
    any ideas?

    • @frankbarajas
      @frankbarajas 4 роки тому

      Nick Burns - Yes, it does get hotter that just about any FC that I have ever had, but I can’t imagine why that would cause that issue, but your right it is an issue to some degree, excuse the unintended pun. Maybe, that added heat affects the onboard NVRAM memory? I have had other FCs reset due to low voltage, such as the Tiny Hawk did, but that was fixed by adding a small 20uf cap, but it didn’t lose it’s settings. Perhaps this FC combo lacks the filtration needed as some capacitors may have been removed for space limitations which creates the right environment for this bug to happen? Just spitballing here, but maybe the reasons some boards are affected by this bug is due to the variances in capacitors from unit to unit. In other words, all electrical components have a tolerance that they vary from and this is why high tolerance components cost much more as they are more accurate to their specifications. However, most components of each type, are built the same, but due to variations in the manufacturing process, some will come out better when tested, while some will fail or preform poorly when tested. The top performers will be your most expensive and/or certified components, but I digress. Getting back to this issue, that may be why some boards have this issue while others don’t, which is due to subtle variations in the component’s quality? I mean, it could be just some lower quality components that causes this to happen and I was using the capacitor as an example, but who knows what it could be? I should note that I add a 220uf cap (10volt) to all my whoops and that could be why mine isn’t seeing this issue, but again I don’t drop my batt voltage that far either. I just have the regular Mobula 6 as well so not comparing the same quads.
