    Binding is super easy. Hit the bind button in Betaflight configurator,
    hit the bind button in the ELRS Lua script. Or you can use the UID
    from you binding phrase in the CLI.
    The built-in RX on these AIO FCs can only be updated with a Betaflight
    firmware update. Version 4.3.0 nightly is currently installed on these.

      I guarantee you'll see a bunch of people who are closed minded about anything new (like 90% of the FPV community lately!) and will just sh*t on this motor without considering how it should be utilized. I try to keep an open mind about all these things and take into consideration wider use cases.

    When Happymodel announced this BNF on Facebook, Angry Don was quite unhappy. I think he recommended to them that they use the Diamond F4 (moblite) FC. I'm not sure how he felt about the kV, but he wasn't happy about this FC because of the short flight time. I think sometimes HM picks and chooses which of his suggestions to use and which to ignore.

    I've had my custom Meteor65 built with 0603 to save weight and went to 0802 after. I noticed the same thing with the higher throttle being needed and set a custom curve to compensate but I also felt it was slightly less responsive to bursts of throttle. The smaller motors we're also more fragile, the top and side of the bell kept separating in harder crashes. My only experience with 070X motors was years ago with an Eachine and that thing was too current hungry for the batteries I had at the time.

    • @AlbertKimTV
      @AlbertKimTV  3 роки тому +1

      Yep, same observations. I do think there is still a place for additional motor sizes for different types of flying. I imagine some races being under 2 minutes but more like drag races with all out speed. For that kind of race, the 0702 will beat the 0802 motor. However, I also think the 0702 motor needs to be on something lighter to take full advantage of the motor size. The point is, we need other sizes so we get more variation is racing styles. It's all the same right now. 🥱

    Ahh the ole URUAV UR65! I still fly mine and the reason I keep flying it is I swapped out those motors for the 19000kv Mobula6 motors plus the 3 blade props also used on the Mobula6. It transformed the quad for the better in all areas especially the run time. If you have a UR65 doing nothing throw some Mob6 motors on it and have fun. Looking at the specs of the Mobula6 ELRS you would think they were catering towards a whoop version of long range with it's dipole vtx antenna and elrs + the 2 bladed props but then it grinds to a halt when I saw the KV and the size motors. Short flight times negate all the electronic advancements.

    • @AlbertKimTV

    Hi, could you do a comparison or comments between Mobula6 ELRS and Meteor65 ELRS, Meteor75 ELRS in terms of flying time, VTX signals etc. for newbie to decide. Thanks.

    • @AlbertKimTV
      @AlbertKimTV  2 роки тому +2

      Flying range is going to be the same for ELRS. I've gone out more than 500m on just 25mW output power. But that range is meaningless because you can't fly long enough to go out far enough to failsafe it because you are limited by battery life. This Mobula6 ELRS gets about 2-2.5 minutes as you saw in this video. I don't have the Meteor65 ELRS but I think that one will get more flight time and about 3-3.5 minutes. I got about that much with the Beta75. The BETAFPV whoops with ELRS now have 350mW VTXes in them. So more video power than the HM ones at 200mW but 200mW is still more than enough because you can't fly far enough away on the small battery.

      I'd go with 2.4 GHz just because you have the option of the ceramic antenna for micros (especially with the HappyModel AIO board) and a higher refresh rate for freestyling/racing. Both 2.4 GHz and 915 MHz have "too much" range for most people, but 915 MHz should have more range. Wezley Varty got to 35 kilometers without fail-safing on 2.4 GHz @ 100mW & 250 Hz, was limited by his video link.

    I have a sneaking suspicion that 0702 was chosen to make up for the weight increase from the ELRS FC. 0802 became popular because of the much better yaw authority compared to 0603. 0702 is a step backward

      I do appreciate having more choices on the motor size, and 0702 will be great for lighter builds like Angry Don's 14g whoop. For this particular application, less yaw authority and less responsive throttle sound like a suboptimal choice, I guess with my flying style

    is this the same FC that HappyModel sells for whoops. I upgraded my mob6 with their ELRS spi board. Had problems because ELRS on the HappyModel is really not supported in BetaFlight and you have to use a branch. The ELRS doesn't have WiFi, nor does BF 4.2.9 support passthru for ELRS. So, basically, I'm stuck until BF 4.3. Also, the vtx on the standalone board, I believe went up to 200 mw, while the original is 25 mw. Couldn't really make a complete circle around my house without vtx dropping out with 25 mw. Thanks for the update.

    • @AlbertKimTV
      @AlbertKimTV  3 роки тому +1

      This is the same board I showed in the video. All the SPI based ELRS receivers are only supported via a Betaflight firmware update and that is different from the rest of the ecosystem. You have to use configurator 10.8.0 to setup the board properly. The VTX on this new board will go up to 200mW if you use the correct configurator. This just requires a little bit of a learning curve to figure out and you should expect new AIO FC boards with SPI based ELRS to operate the same way. They don't plan on changing this so it would be best to learn how it works so you can use it to it's max potential.

    Please test it with the NN Gold batteries or the GNB 1S 380mah (purple label). Or even the new Tattu 1S 300mAh w/ BT2.0. I'm curious if it does a little better on flight time with those batteries. In my experience, those red GNB 300's are just slightly less bad than the ones Happymodel includes with the quad.

      @AlbertKimTV  3 роки тому +1

      Let's see... I can go about 300m in one minute then turn around to fly back for one minute then my battery is dead. 😎 Using ELRS on this little guy is not for long range but for the ultra-low latency link. On something else with more battery like, I've seen these little SMD antenna based setups go up to 3KM. If you need range, you need to get the ones with the standard antennas. Those go up to 30-40km in the right setup.

      @@AlbertKimTV The problem isn't that there are different opinions and knowledge being applied the majority of time in Whoops and micros. You're confusing experts making niche products versus using those same experts to make base products that could be a lot of things from a simple BNF for a beginner to a niche product for the extremes.
