That Defender had its UK plates in the back E251LJE. Its recorded as being first registered on the 1st September 1987 and its a 2494cc Diesel. It last passed its UK MOT (a check to see if its safe to use on the road) in 2014 having done 202598 miles.
The 'Checker plate' on the Defenders hood and front wings is quite a common after market mod. They're tough old 4X4s and they can take the weight of an adult standing on them, though I don't think they ever came from the factory that way. The most reliable ones are really the older 4 cylinder models. Reg: E251 LJE is a 2.5 lter diesel, last change of ownership in the UK was Sept 2012 and its average yearly mileage up to its last annual MOT Sept 2015( vehicle test) was 7500 miles a year. After that presumably it was exported, ending up in the US.
the earky land rover discoveries are nice. They drive as good as any car on the road. I had three of them and they are so expensive to work on if you can find someone.
They made the Land Rover Defender up until 2016 in the UK, all the way from 1984 when it became the Defender instead of the Land Rover Series I/II/III. That one will probably be a UK import being RHD. It is rare to see an automatic one to be honest. In the later years you could only get them with a manual, paired with a 2.2 diesel inline 4 (also used in the Evoque & Freelander in the UK at the time). Examples from the mid 00s came with the 2.5 TD5 inline 5 diesel engine.
Guy I worked with had an Audi crossover thing...fuel injection quit. Borrowed a newer Range Rover...it stopped running. Borrowed a beat up 2010 Crown Vic and drove it for months before getting the Audi and Range Rover fixed. Sometimes simple and cheap is just better.
5:14 this defender was last registered in the uk in 2015! Back when they were reliable with the good old Jaguar Motors in them! Surprised at the little corrosion after spending so long in the uk
The 90 was manufactured until 2016. The defender is VERY popular here in South Africa. I owned a 2001 model and I can tell you it's truly the best 4x4 by far
Hi Randy, I enjoy your videos so much. The first thing I do in the morning is to look at the notifications. I hope you have a new video. The rear of that Land Rover looks more like a School Bus to me. That RANGEROVER! One item you might consider placing in your bag is a Biohazard face mask. Have you ever considered putting a date stamp on your videos? I would like to see when you made your videos.
Hey Randy, it absolutely blows my mind that people would comment and criticize what you should do with your money and in providing for your children! Especially considering that you’ve shown your self to be an absolutely outstanding parent to Nick which is exemplified by his incredible loyalty to you when you were in the hospital and his high character, which is shown by his standing by you like he did, and you are a sign of good parenting! You’re right it is absolutely none of their business it take some kahunas to do that
The Defender is in really good condition for a Landrover. The doors are normally crap at closing, the engine is around 2.5 litres. They have a cult following and the chequer plate is a normal aftermarket addition, the fenders will bend if you stand on them Randy.
Hey Randy, I just got done watching your video from today. Just keep the contact coming buddy. I’ll be watching for your next video. Have a great day. I hope you’re feeling better from your surgery. I’ve been thinking about you and about that. I have a great day. Talk to you again soon.
That ford focus wasn’t all the way on I think. Because I have a 2010 Ford Fusion hybrid and it has a green car with arrows telling you it’s ready to go.
Hey Randy why you didn't show the white Toyota 4Runner right next to the explorer. Please, please if you get a chance please take walk us through it. Thanks 😊
The Land Rover Defender belongs to after 1983, or known as 90...short wheeled base model...nothing fantastic but it's a work horse 🐎 😀...the little white Nissan tiny car is a good buy 👌
That landrover is a defender 90. 90 being its wheelbase. Its longer version is the landrover 110, and then the 130. Its the most capable offroad vehicle you can come across. Its highly customizable. It was the English version to the American jeep. Its beauty is in its ruggedness, probably the only vehicle that looks amazing whilst being very dirty.
Land Rover defender came in 3 types the 90,110 and 130. The numbers refur to the distance between the front and rear axles on the vehicle I think that looks like a 110
Randy I know we have all heard the Range Rover stories and they bring in comments mate but I recall you have had 2, neither let you down and resold at a profit. That LR Defender was the car that set the standard for off roaders and has its roots from the first 'Landie' in 1948. It was so good that when LR had to stop making it when regulations changed INEOS cloned it and called it the 'Grenadier'. It was the car that gave the chassis and 4 wheel drive to the very first range Rover. The car that created the SUV market. They go forever and that 4 banger diesel is the 300 Tdi which is bullet proof. There is a longer wheelbase version and they came with a range of engines including an ex Buick Rover 3.5 litre V8. The British Army swear by these things and still use them.
Wow I didn’t know they made an electric ford focus. I have a ‘12 focus and I love it for the most part lol had to put some money on it but it is for stuff that is a wear and tear problem. Going to get my wiper blade motor looked at and the blend door actuator looked at. But my amazing mechanic is able to work with me on payment plans
I used to have a 2017 ford explorer limited with the 3.5 V-6 with 295 hp. Now I have a 2021 blacked out ford explorer ST with the twin Turbo 3.0 V-6 400 hp.
Randy by the black 2013 explorer I have the same one, bring it to the channel and flip it!!!!! Please buy it Randy please, give it a new life a new beginning for the old ford!!!! Give it the Randy sheer shine!!!
That would have been imported, possibly grey market at the time. Defenders weren't sold in the US in the 80s. They're basically tractors in the UK though, which explains basically everything.
The front end of the Land Rover Defender kind of looks like the INEOS Grenadier, which a new yet boxy and rugged vehicle. I'm not sure if you know about the Grenadier, and it's probably not sold in the U.S yet. Too bad the i8 is still sitting for several months. It was a nice vehicle before whatever accident they got into. I'm sure you don't see exotics in Oklahoma, especially an i8.
Fun story- 19th of October 2023 a body in a shop next to my buddy's shop in Carrboro, NC. Homeless junkie climbed in and OD'd, was in there about a week or so before being discovered. They shoveled out the maggots, replaced the rear seat, aired it out awhile, scrubbed & de-odorized it...and sent it to auction!
That land rover defender is a beautiful car in south Africa where I'm from they very popular and welll taken care of they meant for the safari drive etc Randy do yourself a favor get one you will not regret it trust me
By the way, I’m glad you sold the Explorer. You have a freaking business to run and it makes financial sense to sell vehicles that you purchase to sell. WOW, what an oddity! LOL
Oh you’re teasing us! SPILL IT RANDY!!!! What are you bidding on for the little girl? I have been watching for a long time and seen some of the prospects. I have to say the electric Mitsubishi was comical! Come one, tell us what ya have in mind!
Lynard Skynard......Ewe that smell can't you smell that smell.....if you know you know.....Love the walk arounds Randy so glad you're feeling better and back with us......Stay Up, Hard, and Healthy....🔥🔥❤️👍🏽💯 .........Blunts for everyone.....lol 😂😂
That Land Rover Defender, have a body made of aluminium, doors too, steel frame underneath, think a 2.25 ltr diesel engine, 4 cilinder, 4x4, but also 2x4 driving, its a 90 inch frame, the short version, RHD, think its coming frome the UK. You can take out the window frames from the doors, so that you can drive a little bit more open. Also the roof and sidewalls on the back can be removed, so that the whole car can drive open, the only con is that you then do not have a rear boot to close.
Randy, do what you gotta do to provide nice things for your family man. You and them deserve the best you can provide and your real fans know you will always provide the best you can! Props to that brother! Make em happy!
I think some viewers such as myself are extremely loyal to you and your channel and we unintentionally are emotionally invested in you and your videos, so yes some viewers understandably so get upset or disappointed over certain content leaving the channel, especially when it wasn’t shown for very long. I think the way you dismiss those feelings is kind of unfortunate given that the only reason this channel is profitable for you is because of the viewers that are so emotionally invested in the channel. That being said, at the end of the day it is your property to do with what you see fit.
That White 3rd Generation Toyota 4runner next to the BMW I8 at 11:28 looks good. If it's still there next time. I'd like to see it.
I was just about to say the same
I love this good old land rover I see them in the UK all the time
Whoa the Land Rover is bad ass 🤘🏽🔥
That's a proper Land Rover. The way they were meant to be.
in the junk yard?
😂😂🤣@@butsty
Hey there. I'm from the UK and all I can say. Leave the Land Rover alone. They are a heap of shite
I’m the subscriber dumb enough to buy the BE-1 and the Boxster too!
Congrats man!🥳

That's a LR 90 300Tdi. The engine is seen as very reliable and can exceed a million miles if looked after.
The 'Checker plate' on the Defenders hood and front wings is quite a common after market mod.
They're tough old 4X4s and they can take the weight of an adult standing on them, though I don't think they ever came from the factory that way.

13:43 the white 4 runner. Looks pretty nice and it's a Toyota. Maybe something worth checking oiy
Summer smells at the auto auction.

Brilliant Landrover 🎉

So he borrowed a RR broke it then didn't fix the car he borrowed for months? He sounds like the issue to me 🤷♂🤷♂
@@irishjamieplays463 Range Rovers are borderline non repairable
that Crown Vic will go 400,000 miles, and if something does go wrong it can be repaired fast and cheap
Hello Randy. The Nissan B1 is a great looking car that has been sold. The 1987 Land Rover Defender is a good looking SUV that has been sold.
5:14 this defender was last registered in the uk in 2015! Back when they were reliable with the good old Jaguar Motors in them! Surprised at the little corrosion after spending so long in the uk
The Defender is just great... they go on and on and on and on...
The Defender 90 (90 inch wheelbase) only came out in 1984 if I am not mistaken.
The 90 was manufactured until 2016. The defender is VERY popular here in South Africa. I owned a 2001 model and I can tell you it's truly the best 4x4 by far
@@markbooysen9412 same, my dad used a 110 bakkie on our farm for a while. A friend of mine still has a 130 double cab.

I still watch all your videos and they are great
I love your videos they are so awesome that is a nice range Rover
That Defender 90 isn't 1970's Its late 1980s with some early 1990s bits added by looks of it
U looked at the explorer and the expedition and I was still waiting for you to look at that 4Runner!!
Finally a defender been asking for ages, I have 1994 defender 90 in white exactly the same as this one ❤
Glad you feeling better randy

Never turn ac on to max ac first. That is just circulating the air in the cab. Turn on the regular ac to see if its cool or not.
The batteries in those old focus EVs are quite problematic. Many failures at only 50k or so miles
It looked like a 🇬🇧 reg plate in the back. The checker plate is standard

The Explorer likely has YF refrigerant like my Focus. It takes a long time to get cold.
Looks like a Defender90...the number corresponds to the wheelbase
If you post videos online and talk about your family, random people online will tell you what to do.
A Range Rover and a Defender are completely different land rovers. The Defender is still utilitarian, just slightly more civilized.
Its not a 70s Land Rover. It is from the late 80s. A Defender 90 2,5 N/A
The range on the 2012 Ford Focus is only 76 miles according to google.
