It actually got a lot easier on the 2010 Ranger. No bolts or covers. Just two large retaining clips that pull upward, and the whole headlight bucket comes out. Easy! Good job on the video!
thank you so much. my lite bulb just went out after 12 years on my Ford Ranger truck. and after watching your video , I was able to replace it. you were so helpful. greetings from Texas !
By 1:40 of the vid, I paused, and no more than 5 mins later I had replaced both halogens bulbs and shut the hood. (2004 Ford Ranger, just 90k miles) Much thanks!
Thank you very much for this video. I watched someone else's video and he talked so fast you had to watch it 2 or 3 times to understand what he said or was doing. Your video was very helpful and nicely done and I thank you!
2001-10 Mazdas have different configurations and some Fords as well. Just depends on the model. My has retainers as well as a small plastic clip at the bottom of the assembly. To save time and money get a repair manual for you're exact model to save time and money. Some websites will have it or you can get one at an auto parts store for $30
Just did a driver s headlite today in frozen Minnesota. There was no cover on top, had to WD 40 those pull up thing s and chip away thick ice around headlight. Of course it was those little plastic clip to light disinagrated in the cold so two type s of tape to find one that will kind of stick together and good to go between snow storms. This job would be much easier if it was above 32 degrees , the little plasitic clip to connect to bulb would have survived but we cant control weather so improvise to survive till warmer weather !
@@EricDIY Thanks. I'll need it since it doesn't look anything like what I saw on your video. Mine looks like it's one, big piece. No bolts on the top........and couldn't see those clamp things you were talking about. Maybe my son will find a solution. I'm a dumb ass female who knows nothing about fixing vehicles!! lol
To change a 2008 Mazda B2300 parking light bulb, use a 5.5mm or 7/32" socket, universal and short extension. Remove the small screw that goes into the top of the Parking light beside the Headlight adjusting screw. The lens assembly then pulls straight out Forward! You're welcome.
My 2004 outer bracket is fixed, no nuts and bolts and one slide latch is bolted. very little wiggle room on driver side. video is beautiful but my Ranger Edge is somewhat different.
It's like...all the manufacturers have a big meeting and say.."ok guys what can we do to each type of vehicle we make so it gives the owner something to complain about on all our ends on UA-cam or beer drinking conversations"
I don't know. They could be as the Mazda B series is the same thing as a Ford Ranger. See if you have the clips under the hood. Sadly, I just traded in my Ranger for a 2014 Honda CR-V (more family practical).
trying to find out how to change the headlights on my mazda b2300 2003 pickup and all this stupid computer will give me is ford ranger. They are nothing alike.
***** Thanks, man, but I just found it through some additional searching right before I read your reply. It is called a "ring spreader tool." I appreciate you getting back to me!
Charles Ashton the problem with the mazda is it doesnt have those nice big metal levers to pull to unlock the headlight. Instead it uses super small fingernail sized headlight clips that you have to remove with needle nozed pliers. Then you fight the assembly out with your hands since just like in this video those plastic clampy things grab onto the assembly
Fsilone in the mazda the stupid thing is it doesnt have the nice big metal lever to loosen the assembly. You have to use needle nozed pliers to grab the small headlight clips and remove them (pain in the neck) then muscle and wiggle the assembly out. It will take a while if you are not lucky but it will come trust me
@@TheGoose31 I HATE THOSE CLIPS...stupid design....have to redo Front panel housing so hopefully I will understand those clips better. Have a 2006 b2300 that was in a front end hit.
We'll....it said Mazda B Series we're co.paravle. it really depends on them model I guess. It's not a misleading title as the Mazda B Series is a Ford Ranger copy. Other Mazda B Series owners have used this video

Don't know how old this video is, but I just used it as reference to change my headlight bulbs on my '08 Ranger. Thank you!
It sure does not match the Mazda B2300. Trying to change Parking Light bulb

How do you replace headlight on a 1998 Ford ranger? It has some weird looking clips.
Thanks for the help!

Have you had to change the fog lights yet?
I'm still planning on making the fog light video...just haven't had time
Just posted the fog light changing video...enjoy
Yes those clips break. With a screwdriver, lift both at the same time and then pull and it won't break.
Are these the same steps you take for a '07 B4000?

The headlights of the ford ranger 1998 to 2000 are compatible with those of mazda b3000 2003?
Did you solve your problem? I have a Mazda b2300, need to know how many retainer clips total?

For the record, not the same headlight assembly as my 2001 B4000, and from what I gather, Mazda pickups in general.
