    Little tip from the aquarium hobby when applying silicone mask first and then apply the caulk.. remove the tape after you wipe it and you will get perfect professional looking seams.

    Look for one of those curved shower rods. They are worth the extra money. Creates tons of elbow room.

    • @billnict1
      @billnict1 3 роки тому +3

      Yeah, we've got them in two of our bathrooms. They do create more space in the shower but they take a lot of room away from outside the shower in the bathroom IF you've got a smaller bathroom or if the toilet is really close to the bathtub/shower...

    • @Jaynes-Path
      @Jaynes-Path 3 роки тому +3

      We put 1 in our small master bathroom. We used a small curve rather than a larger one. The little bit extra is great without interfering with the rest of the bathroom.

    Great idea on the 100% waterproof vinyl planking for your shower wall. Two things I want to mention. #1 - I did both of my showers using a 100% waterproof vinyl product called Duma Wall. The way it clicks together you think you’re installing LVP, however the dimensions of the planks are similar to large shower tiles and the patterns are also more shower suitable. Also they have special corner and out side edge treatments that eliminates the need to run a bead of caulk along the corners and edges. You mount the corner piece to the shower corner and the LVP snaps tightly into the channel. They have a similar treatment to outside and ceiling edges. This makes the overall look very clean and professional. #2 - DUMA WALL recommends using a small bead of clear silicone on all the click seams, enhancing the overall waterproof ability of the finished product. Of course they have all sorts of styles and you can use on regular wall too. We are going on year #2 and all still looks great. We also used 3/4 in plywood on the walls and put 2 coats of the same waterproofing coating on the plywood, and then glue the LVP to the plywood. Let me tell you how easy and sturdy my safety bars were to install, using stainless screws they take a solid bite into that plywood.

    Good job in getting the shower done. Bet you can't wait to try it out. The best tip that I've ever had when working with caulk. Is to put your bead of caulk down as even as you can, but don't level it. Take a spray bottle and mix Dawn dish soap, 50/50 with water. Mist down the caulk then level it off. The caulk will come will not stick to where the water/soap was misted on and cleans right up. I've tried in my shower and it works.

    Enjoy the Brussels' mint cookies. You certainly earned them. I continue to be amazed by the work you two are doing for your temporary living space until your actual house is built. What will that look like, only time will tell.

    I LOVED your daughter's creations! She has the gift of patience. Tell her, "Keep up the good work!" I'd like to see more of them, and then maybe when she makes enough, she can sell them on your site.😊
    I loved what you both did in your bathroom. Looks beautiful. You all have come a long way. God bless you all.🙏

    FYI, if you spray the silicone calk with Windex, or spray Windex on a cloth to wipe off the excess calk, it comes right off, no fuss, no mess. Keep up the great work

    So glad to see someone else loves the Brussels Mints. Our family has been loving these for 30 years. We were devastated when Pepperidge Farm discontinued them so I wrote to them asking that they bring them back. They wrote back that it would not be happening, so sorry. Just before this happened we discovered that they make the BEST s’mores. They showed up here last year and we bought all we could. Now we’ve done the same thing again. Buying so many we hope that by. Voting with our dollars they will realize their error.
    Love the channel and you interaction. Hope you have a great Holiday!
