Been at launch in South Africa last night in Barnyard Rivonia, its a big venue and I was amazed with the system. Live band was preforming, they set up 4 bins and 2 tops. Excellent quality for the price and of cause the portability. I was amazed

What kind of monitors are they using there?
Is that another new BOSE product coming up?

Just curious, are there pole mounts on these tops?

    • @gregorycartwright9916
      @gregorycartwright9916 9 років тому +1

Shannon Bushey Yep, there are pole mounts on the tops. Bass bins come with a built-in slide-out stand. But if you want to use the tops on their own they have pole mounts.

What the name of that band that's playing in the video?

That must be a very special venue. We got a set of these at the church and They need some major EQ. There's too much 1 kHz, too much 10 kHz with very little above it. The bass is punchy and not musical. I found the sound muddy at times, and britle at others. This is with our main EQ set flat. Sorry to have to say these things, as it seems like a good concept.

Pretty sure they picked that venue for a reason, notice the acoustic panelling? ;)

I'm almost totally blind, so I didn't see it. However, I thought there must be something like that involved. :)

Thanks for the review George. There is some variation due to room configurations but in general the flexible array does a good job focusing the mid-high sound onto listeners. Personally, I have used these in a couple church scenarios with good results, including a full blown concert with choir, percussion, cello, piano, lead guitar and vocals (Curtis Stephen). I didn't have to EQ much but due to the nature of the room, I played around with the array settings and like the "straight" configuration better, probably due to the liveliness of the church. Nonetheless, thanks for testing them out and for your report.

The first thing I thought when all these sound dudes were comparing this smaller venue to an arena. Well, the room must be treated. You can make a carvin speaker sound amazing in a good sounding room. Hell, I've heard L'acoustic rigs sound like (well, lets just how they are not supposed to sound) in bad sounding rooms.
There may be something to this speaker enclosure but its not going to cure RA times and a poorly treated room.

I tested Yamaha dxr12 QSCK12 Yorkville Parasource PS12 and Bose F1 still a winner for for clarity and coverage. I'm not amazed by the subwoofers sad to say.

I heard the f1 subs at a car show grass field & wasn't amazed as well maybe duel 12" or 15"s would feel the bass

mfuji02 sorry I’m wrong about the subs they pound when setup correctly. They sound like 18inch sub

      Have you compared it?
I comepaed in a shop in Gotenburg were they had a lot of PA connected to the same mixer. It was just to swithch and select what you would likte to listen to.
I had thought to buy a cheaper sub . I have looked into 15" Yamaha DRX something. I had 2 18" EV subs before.
When i A/B tested with Bose the choice was done in 10s . they sound amazing.
I use the F1 system for cover gig, not very big events. I also do DJ job and it sounds loud and good. I have used it at outside events as well. I would prefere even more power at out side gig. But you can't just say your JBL will bet this system without testing. It is much more power than you beleve. I had 2200 watt class D amp to my EV 18" Subs before. This compare or are maybe louder.

i don't believe this. If you want great sound you have to push some air. IMHO. The first guys comment was the best; he goes " a bunch of tweaters and 10" subs?"....

The trick is to get a good amount of bass energy in the room without hauling large amounts of bass cabs. This isn't a large concert touring system, but meant for clubs where a portable PA like this form-factor will work well. In this case, we've done our homework to get as much bass out of relatively small enclosures as possible. Keep in mind that each full system (one F1 812 and one F1 sub) uses two 10" woofers and one 12" woofer. Two of these in stereo L/R configuration and you have a great-sounding system live performance or DJ set up. Try the F1 out and let us know your thoughts!

      @@BoseProfessional Hey Bose Professional.
What about making touring equipment like point source like Danley J5, Bassboss Kraken Quad 21.. loudspeakers which hit 160+dB SPL for arena use. 2 - 4 speakers just for 1 full arena or stadium! Just the way Danley sound labs did!
