Some advice here. 1. Try using a Tomb Reaver. You won't regret it! 2. It is disputable what is faster. Morphing out > TP > Morphing in. Or simply running. 3. You can just hold the right mouse button never releasing it. Only to pick up items. Everything should be linked to the right mouse button. I have a short video for the build.
I ran this build back in the day, I belive I had the frame rate (attack speed) high enough you didnt see the swipe at all like 4 swipes a second or somthing like that. Ethereal blue phase blade (6 soc with attackspeed already on it and full shale runes) was a must. Super nestolgic thanks for the throwback!
Actually according to the breakpoint calculator, in some very specific cases, off weapon IAS can help reach the next breakpoint. I prefer a middle of the road aproach with Tomb Reaver (it can reach 5 frames attacks) with fort/coh, but obviously, your build is super well rounded as well, it's just a matter of taste.
Dbrunski125- Great video, I enjoy your stuff very much. One point I'd like to make, though: OIAS (Off-weapon Increased Attack Speed) has no effect when the character is in Werewolf form, but it DOES work in Werebear form. Just before writing this I went in-game to confirm. I grabbed one of my wolf Druids and put a Treachery body armor (45% IAS), some random 20% IAS gloves, some random 10% IAS belt, and Highlord's Wrath amulet (20% IAS) into his inventory. I did the same kind of check you did: Went out into the wild and did normal attacks into the air for a visual representation of attack speed. His attack speed was the same both when I had his normal gear on him - which has no IAS - or when I had those IAS items on him in their place. Then I muled all that stuff over to one of my bear Druids, did the same test. With his normal gear his normal attack is slow AF, with all that IAS gear on in its place his attack is much faster - and it's not close, it's way, way faster; it wasn't just my imagination that it was maybe a little faster. Werewolves don't get the benefit of OIAS because they have the Werewolf skill which adds IAS. Werebears, however, don't have a skill which provides IAS so they get the benefit of OIAS. I recommend you test this yourself to be sure. Maybe it's different on slashDiablo or whatever mod you're using, but in plain old Diablo II 1.14d single player what I described above is how it works. The attack speed calculator at: diablo3.ingame.de/diablo-2/calculatoren/angriffsgeschwindigkeit/?lang=en which is generally considered the best and most accurate simulates this as well.
I will note, though, that WIAS (on-Weapon Increased Attack Speed) modifies the base of the weapon and so the more WIAS used the faster the theoretical maximum attack rate that can be reached. (edit: Druid in Werebear form assumed for all of the following examples.) For example, a Phase Blade with no WIAS and no OIAS has a 13-frame attack speed. A Phase Blade with 20 WIAS has a 9-frame attack speed with a theoretical maximum of an 8-frame attack speed which requires 25 OIAS. For the maximum 4-frame attack rate with a Phase Blade, 110 IAS is required and all of it has to be WIAS; obviously any OIAS added after reaching the maximum theoretical attack speed has no effect but that is true for any form and weapon combination, not just a bear Druid.
Due to all fire immunities in the game the best weapon is probably ethereal zoded tomb reaver with ribcracker being a close second for a fire claw druid. Phaseblade can reach the 4fpa breakpoint which is nice. But theres 2 problems with a phaseblade setup. (fpa = frames per attack) 1. Is the fact that all your damage is fire which makes the very common fire immunities a real problem. 2. Blocking. A werebears blockspeed is terrible so whenever you block and get stuck in blocking animation that's basically 2 attacks you couldn't do. The stats you get from a shield is nice but the blocking downside is heavy. With a tombreaver setup you can reach the 5fpa breakpoint while still doing a lot of physical damage in addition to your fire damage and as you're wielding a 2 hander there's no shield and therefore no blocking. You'll lose a bit of fire damage since you don't have a shield with 4 fire jewels and since you'll probably use IAS jewels in your helm instead of another fire jewel too. This does make a large difference in fire damage but the physical damage you gain more than makes up for it imo.
other really nice weapon choices for a bigger melee damage output are Gris Caduceus and Tomb Reaver (doesn't even need to be eth). I've tested Phoenix shield and it absolutely sucks for this build specifically. Anyway really nice video, this is one of my favorite builds and it works well on hardcore (with melee damage setups).
Fascinating. This build was always something that I wanted to do but i couldn't due to crap inventory on my SP chars few years ago . Now after I am beefed up I will most likely use your strats to creaty this big boi. However I do wish he was able to beat Fire Immunes quicker so I'll be waiting for follow up video in future. I used to run Lightsaber/Stormshield on my weapon swap with this build back in the day. You get a ton of non-fire damage, and you would have enough lightning absorb to actually be healed by lightning, which was hilarious.
I had a druid that (barely) reached hell. Was a pure Beastmaster which just slayed until act 3-5 nightmare, my second attempt at that build and it's cool but really over all kinda sucked, despite maxing out what needed, it just seemed so ineffective and also a little dull unlike a summon necro so I reset to Fireclaw bear, still struggling big time in A1 Hell but I feel like I'm on the right path, I'm doing 3k damage atm with a Riphook Razor bow so it doesn't feel like a sluggish tank. 11 points in necessary elemental skill, besides that kinda crappy gear but nothing that can't be solved with persistence and MF but it's really fucking fun, ty for this vid Dbrunski thanks to this vid I'm having a blast and doing silly damage on a really crap build in progress XD you haven't played D2 until you've been an oversized riciculous fucking bear especially when you get fast attack speed, DUMB AF BUT GREAT.
Played this build as my main back on 1.11. I kinda went for the more tanky route with Shaft and Stormshield, but still bitch slapped every normal mob that wasnt fire immune. Its also a good character to start a fresh ladder because its dirt cheap to equip and afterwards you can run cows to farm socketables, which, with the correct stats, usually are far more valuable than uniques.
The chad move is to run physical/fire hybrid with a grief pb, phoenix shield and fortitude. Makes grief do nutty damage and you can spec into armageddon and firestorm’s synergies for the firestorm proc (it’s annoying but with phoenix, ravenlore, infinity merc it does good damage). I can get about 10k fire claws damage and whatever the grief is doing which with phoenix, fort, merc might aura is nutty. He was doing players 8 and a pretty decent speed even in chaos sanctuary.
Jalals over Ravenlore- ar/fhr/life/res/longer time in werebear shape skills are more important also even on fire claw druid imo. Chains of honor over enigma 65@ res/same dr/mf/2@ skills/8% life leech miniscule in the grand scheme of everything but its more life gained per hit/plus a boost to damage to demons which will increase any physical damage you do. Frw can be found in charms or other pieces of gear an tele is kind of redundant in a build that is mainly in shape form. A very solid guide though as usual an other viable options were certainly suggested.
Have you ever considered the "Lightning Claw" build? It's a selfcast Holy Shock paladin transforming into a bear using Beast as a stat stick. The advantage of this is that you get a faster attack than what Zeal provides to deliver your Holy Shock damage. It has several advantages over Fire Claw: 1.) decent block frames: Gris Shield with lightning facets rocks for this (6 frame block - not great, but better than a druid with spirit, with 1 Shael rune + Guardian Angel you could be very tanky with 5 frame block and huge resists, probably not worth it overall on a high budget) 2.) Infinity gets rid of immunes, Griffon's and a possible boatload of facets take it further down (full Gris set is actually a fairly strong setup here, considering that you probably will use 1-2 pieces of it either way, and the rest has 5 more sockets for Facets) 3.) probably more damage due to how Griffon's/Facets affect paladin elemental auras (effect is basically applied twice) 4.) according to the attackspeed calculator bear form paladin normal attack needs less weapon IAS to reach breakpoints (I'm super suspicious of this). This means that a BOTD PB or a Gris caddy socketed with 75% IAS reaches 4 frame attacks. I highly doubted this initially so I read up some old forum posts that seem to actually confirm it, still I'm not 100% sold on this. This would be one of the biggest selling points for me, but as I said, I still have my doubts. The drawback I can see I guess is AR problems, but that hardly seems unsolvable. 60 point + prerequs is set for HS + synergies, so you can max Blessed Aim for one, Infinity makes it even easier, Blessed Aim aura merc could be used too.
@@Dbrunski125 did some more digging about bear pally breakpoints in reddit threads and d2jsp and they all seem to confirm it, also apparently there are some guides out there (backed up by the IAS calculator) that claim that 80% WIAS caddy +40 off weapon IAS nets you the 4 frame attack as a bear pally. It is really weird, I thought all classes have the same breakpoints as bear, but apparently that's FHR only, and 70% faster block rate bear WITH Holy Shield is down to 3 frames block, that is insane (if it is really accurate). That means you can double Ber your Gris Caddy for 40% CB. Or go BOTD PB, but the caddy seems a bit stronger (locking most likely amulet and gloves is a drawback though). This should be a monster. I guess I'll need to fire up an editor before I start throwing my runes and facets into random items.
I just created a fireclaw bear in D2R now that IAS cap seems to be non existent. It's already very fun as soon as you get the pb with the 6x shael runes.
How about double Phoenix setup with lower AS to take full adventage of that prox? Prox will use same synergies for 1100-1400 dmg, and since we got 2 of those we will proc nearly every single atack. We would also have up to 30lv redamption aura, what should give us pretty good heal/mana regen. Would it be any good?
I personally like to play fireclaw druid as a fire/phys hybrid with a fast twohander - just gives you alot more freedom since you can kill almost anything. Sure you cant hit the crazy fast breakpoint, but what you CAN do is leech, deal crushing blow and deadly strikes and deal with immunities. So by going pure fire you are missing alot of utility and dmg actually.
This couldn't have been a better timing! I'm getting mine through hell right now. I'm using 6xShael'd PB, Jalal's, Spirit but with Duress and Gore for CB and OW. With how fast he attacks, fire immunes go down real quick. Super fun to play with. I actually wanted to ask you on your next stream if you thought it could handle Ubers with decent enough gear?
1:34 - that´s not true. If you use for example a tombreaver with 3 shael-runes (like I do) and without any other ias-gear, you only reach a 6 FPA attack. try zealer half auradin with Beast transform in bear : and weapon swap to ebotdz was epic gameplay really fun mellee ( dragon armor , dragon shield auradin helm )
Loved to play this build back in the day on battle net. That damage is simply Overkill! The reactions were hilarious. Was regulary called cheater. But the fire immunes and the slow run walk that doesn't fit to the lightning speed attacks when you don't have an Enigma are a pain in the ass. That's why I prefer fire claws as a werewolf now. Werewolfs fastest possible attackspeed with 110% ias phase blade is 5 frames instead of werebears 4 frames - this is still absolute Overkill! But the advantages are: high movement speed and no life leech problems with feral rage. And 1 hard point into fury and an upped and shealed Ripcracker on weapon slot for fire immunes (5 frame attack). imho overall slightly better killspeed than the werebear but definitly fewer weakpoints.
Anyone: What armor should I use? DB: Enigma Anyone: I'm playing a.... DB: Use Enigma... xD I'm just joshing with you. I love that rune word and on plugY once you make one, you feel great! I love Enigma, but apparently not as much as you do. ;)

Enıgma is the best except shapeshift druid and sorceress. But just to use enigma exiting bear form and enter bear form after doesn't make sense. Not worth it.
So I was wondering... how do you think a GG rare Demon Crossbow would do with Fire Claws? Fool's mod, IAS, maybe some open sockets? It's a -60 AS base, so could hit the last breakpoint.
@@Dbrunski125 yeah... I never thought about identifying rare machine crossbows... although range might be an issue. But even a simple 5OS one frees you from that aggravating shield block animation, and has space for 2 facets.

Can you be even faster with 5 shael runes on a demon crossbow? What do you think of breath of the dying on an eth phase blade? That would reduce the speed a little but add massive damage? How about upgraded buriza or azurewrath?
1. PB hits max speed and allows a shield for additional benefits. 2. PB can not spawn ethereal (though you can upgrade rare ethereal crystal and dimensional). 3. Buriza has long been a popular and solid Fury werewolf weapon, but upped Ribby is superior in general.

on ww use shortest possible wws, first two hits(frames) of ww always have the same "pause" between no matter the IAS, so u would prefer highest possible weapon dmg, check classic.battle.net/diablo2exp/skills/barbarian-combatskills.shtml for complex explanation

I had g face duress Nosferatu coil dracul grasp Gore Rider and my two weapons were a ethereal eternity out of a scourge and famine out of a legendary mallet and he doesn't do shit compared to my summon necromancer nobody does. I'm about to try Paladin next I'm already disappointed with sorceress also

People really need to stop saying off weapon IAS does nothing for werebears cause it's simply not true. It has a wayyyyyy lower impact on frame rate and it's often negligible and not worth going out of your way to stack it but in some cases it can still get you to a breakpoint or two
You can actually stack ias on your gear, but you tend to need a shitload of it to hit good breakpoints in werebear form, but with items like treachery, highlords, laying of hands and ias jewels it is possible. It all depends on the weapon though - ias on weapon is way more effective and really determines which bp's you can realisticly hit.
@@LaddRusso91 So the german ias calculator is wrong? I think you guys are wrong actually. I have tested a setup with oath feral axe and stacked ias on equipment and it allows you to hit 5fps attack. Normally oath witouth extra ias will hit 7fps. Test it out.
@@kristofferammitzbll1811 Gear IAS increases breakpoints if the weapon IAS is not so high. With a Phaseblade that has 110% IAS you already hit 4 fps breakpoint and no longer get an increase from gear.
How about you use a rune master?? Has a lot of damage and can socket up to, Say, five shael runes. An ethereal RM with a zod and four fervor jewels with increased damage would be absolute GG

First i want to state, that i really Love your content for the most part. It almost makes me want to Install plugY and Play again my all time fav Game. But what i really dont Like is how you use Enigma on about everything. This rw Breaks the Game so much, If it has become a requirement. Play more builds without it. The Game is more fun that way. And think about all the Players, who cant grow high runes in their garden... for example I like the FC wearbear. But by using Eni and stacking FCR, you Just loose so much damage compared to a 4 Rbf Armor or shield Especially if you lack high runes and dont have infi. If you want to try a funny hybrid, play a FC Arma Hybrid. Looses some FC damage, but Arma makes Up for that. Combine that with that +7 ele Hammer in Slot 2 to precast (yes chars actually work without cta) and have an good time. My fav WB back then 😊 works with WW too
Decent but not tuned right. My fireclaw druid got 20k fire damage use armageddon for aoe i got around 5k physical damage and leach like a champ. I can do p3 every place in the game pretty well and places with no fire immune i do p8 in secs. Slight is barb guy but im druid and sin guy

Fireclaw druids are very fun Here is another variation of a fireclaw druid forums.d2jsp.org/topic.php?t=83226460&f=53 in short my build was as follows: etomb reaver 2x ed/ias jewels - zod jalas with fire facet enigma druid crafted frw amulet raven dual leech ring laying of hands tgods gores (or tri res boots) 3frw/res scs 8 shapeshift skillers infinity merc this build yielded 13k-18k fireclaw dmg (fire and physical dmg) and 6.8k-7.7k armageddon dmg Due of the characteristics of an eth tomb reaver, your fireclaw attacks possess a great deal of physical dmg. armageddon provided great aoe dmg to non fire immunes
Once your character has done all the quests and gathered all the waypoints, you can go for a pure fire build and then use it for magic-finding in areas where fire immunes are uncommon or nearly nonexistent. Once in a while you'll get a little boss that spawns fire immune and that's what your mercenary is for - or you can just walk around it/teleport past it and leave it alone.
As much as I like D2, the gear, drops, setups and etc. are absolutely boring and everyone is using the same shit. Grinding this game is useless and shows how stupid people playing this game are. All of the white, blue, yellow items that drop should be useful, yet most of the game's drops are never picked up. 99.999% of the items dropped in D2 throughout its history of people playing were never picked up, and served no purpose because they were not sojs or hrs or other such unique nonsense. The game is fun UNTIL you get the endgame gear. The game itself is barren from a story perspective. I like how it looks and how it works, but it is nothing more but a hack and slash timesink. D1 was more intense. D2 should be played like D1, then it is fun.

My favorite Druid build. I use Armageddon as a secondary attack. You can cast it while in Bear form.

What build would you use phoenix for
it works really well for Fury or Zealer (the ctc firestorm does NOT interrupt those skills), and also for Fire Sorc.

You can run fire claws with Aldur’s if you’re on a budget. It’s an absolute tank

Its also a good character to start a fresh ladder because its dirt cheap to equip and afterwards you can run cows to farm socketables, which, with the correct stats, usually are far more valuable than uniques.
The chad move is to run physical/fire hybrid with a grief pb, phoenix shield and fortitude. Makes grief do nutty damage and you can spec into armageddon and firestorm’s synergies for the firestorm proc (it’s annoying but with phoenix, ravenlore, infinity merc it does good damage). I can get about 10k fire claws damage and whatever the grief is doing which with phoenix, fort, merc might aura is nutty. He was doing players 8 and a pretty decent speed even in chaos sanctuary.
Jalals over Ravenlore- ar/fhr/life/res/longer time in werebear shape skills are more important also even on fire claw druid imo.
Chains of honor over enigma 65@ res/same dr/mf/2@ skills/8% life leech miniscule in the grand scheme of everything but its more life gained per hit/plus a boost to damage to demons which will increase any physical damage you do. Frw can be found in charms or other pieces of gear an tele is kind of redundant in a build that is mainly in shape form.
A very solid guide though as usual an other viable options were certainly suggested.

Have you ever considered the "Lightning Claw" build? It's a selfcast Holy Shock paladin transforming into a bear using Beast as a stat stick. The advantage of this is that you get a faster attack than what Zeal provides to deliver your Holy Shock damage. It has several advantages over Fire Claw:
1.) decent block frames: Gris Shield with lightning facets rocks for this (6 frame block - not great, but better than a druid with spirit, with 1 Shael rune + Guardian Angel you could be very tanky with 5 frame block and huge resists, probably not worth it overall on a high budget)
2.) Infinity gets rid of immunes, Griffon's and a possible boatload of facets take it further down (full Gris set is actually a fairly strong setup here, considering that you probably will use 1-2 pieces of it either way, and the rest has 5 more sockets for Facets)
3.) probably more damage due to how Griffon's/Facets affect paladin elemental auras (effect is basically applied twice)
4.) according to the attackspeed calculator bear form paladin normal attack needs less weapon IAS to reach breakpoints (I'm super suspicious of this). This means that a BOTD PB or a Gris caddy socketed with 75% IAS reaches 4 frame attacks. I highly doubted this initially so I read up some old forum posts that seem to actually confirm it, still I'm not 100% sold on this. This would be one of the biggest selling points for me, but as I said, I still have my doubts.
The drawback I can see I guess is AR problems, but that hardly seems unsolvable. 60 point + prerequs is set for HS + synergies, so you can max Blessed Aim for one, Infinity makes it even easier, Blessed Aim aura merc could be used too.

@@Dbrunski125 did some more digging about bear pally breakpoints in reddit threads and d2jsp and they all seem to confirm it, also apparently there are some guides out there (backed up by the IAS calculator) that claim that 80% WIAS caddy +40 off weapon IAS nets you the 4 frame attack as a bear pally. It is really weird, I thought all classes have the same breakpoints as bear, but apparently that's FHR only, and 70% faster block rate bear WITH Holy Shield is down to 3 frames block, that is insane (if it is really accurate). That means you can double Ber your Gris Caddy for 40% CB. Or go BOTD PB, but the caddy seems a bit stronger (locking most likely amulet and gloves is a drawback though). This should be a monster. I guess I'll need to fire up an editor before I start throwing my runes and facets into random items.
I just created a fireclaw bear in D2R now that IAS cap seems to be non existent. It's already very fun as soon as you get the pb with the 6x shael runes.

How about double Phoenix setup with lower AS to take full adventage of that prox? Prox will use same synergies for 1100-1400 dmg, and since we got 2 of those we will proc nearly every single atack. We would also have up to 30lv redamption aura, what should give us pretty good heal/mana regen. Would it be any good?

I personally like to play fireclaw druid as a fire/phys hybrid with a fast twohander - just gives you alot more freedom since you can kill almost anything. Sure you cant hit the crazy fast breakpoint, but what you CAN do is leech, deal crushing blow and deadly strikes and deal with immunities. So by going pure fire you are missing alot of utility and dmg actually.

This couldn't have been a better timing! I'm getting mine through hell right now. I'm using 6xShael'd PB, Jalal's, Spirit but with Duress and Gore for CB and OW. With how fast he attacks, fire immunes go down real quick. Super fun to play with. I actually wanted to ask you on your next stream if you thought it could handle Ubers with decent enough gear?

1:34 - that´s not true. If you use for example a tombreaver with 3 shael-runes (like I do) and without any other ias-gear, you only reach a 6 FPA attack. If you gather 50 ias from the rest of your equip, you reach the 5 FPA attack.

Loved to play this build back in the day on battle net. That damage is simply Overkill! The reactions were hilarious. Was regulary called cheater. But the fire immunes and the slow run walk that doesn't fit to the lightning speed attacks when you don't have an Enigma are a pain in the ass. That's why I prefer fire claws as a werewolf now. Werewolfs fastest possible attackspeed with 110% ias phase blade is 5 frames instead of werebears 4 frames - this is still absolute Overkill! But the advantages are: high movement speed and no life leech problems with feral rage. And 1 hard point into fury and an upped and shealed Ripcracker on weapon slot for fire immunes (5 frame attack). imho overall slightly better killspeed than the werebear but definitly fewer weakpoints.

Enıgma is the best except shapeshift druid and sorceress. But just to use enigma exiting bear form and enter bear form after doesn't make sense. Not worth it.

So I was wondering... how do you think a GG rare Demon Crossbow would do with Fire Claws? Fool's mod, IAS, maybe some open sockets? It's a -60 AS base, so could hit the last breakpoint.

@@Dbrunski125 yeah... I never thought about identifying rare machine crossbows... although range might be an issue. But even a simple 5OS one frees you from that aggravating shield block animation, and has space for 2 facets.

Can you be even faster with 5 shael runes on a demon crossbow? What do you think of breath of the dying on an eth phase blade? That would reduce the speed a little but add massive damage? How about upgraded buriza or azurewrath?
1. PB hits max speed and allows a shield for additional benefits.
2. PB can not spawn ethereal (though you can upgrade rare ethereal crystal and dimensional).
3. Buriza has long been a popular and solid Fury werewolf weapon, but upped Ribby is superior in general.

I had g face duress Nosferatu coil dracul grasp Gore Rider and my two weapons were a ethereal eternity out of a scourge and famine out of a legendary mallet and he doesn't do shit compared to my summon necromancer nobody does.

Infinity reduces enemy defense by a lot so not much AR is required. Without it 8-10k is enough.

People really need to stop saying off weapon IAS does nothing for werebears cause it's simply not true. It has a wayyyyyy lower impact on frame rate and it's often negligible and not worth going out of your way to stack it but in some cases it can still get you to a breakpoint or two
Can you stack Treachery's 45% attakspeed? Or really yust the weapon attakspeed matter?

You can actually stack ias on your gear, but you tend to need a shitload of it to hit good breakpoints in werebear form, but with items like treachery, highlords, laying of hands and ias jewels it is possible. It all depends on the weapon though - ias on weapon is way more effective and really determines which bp's you can realisticly hit.

@@LaddRusso91 So the german ias calculator is wrong? I think you guys are wrong actually. I have tested a setup with oath feral axe and stacked ias on equipment and it allows you to hit 5fps attack. Normally oath witouth extra ias will hit 7fps. Test it out.
@@kristofferammitzbll1811 Gear IAS increases breakpoints if the weapon IAS is not so high. With a Phaseblade that has 110% IAS you already hit 4 fps breakpoint and no longer get an increase from gear.
How about you use a rune master?? Has a lot of damage and can socket up to, Say, five shael runes. An ethereal RM with a zod and four fervor jewels with increased damage would be absolute GG

First i want to state, that i really Love your content for the most part. It almost makes me want to Install plugY and Play again my all time fav Game. But what i really dont Like is how you use Enigma on about everything. This rw Breaks the Game so much, If it has become a requirement. Play more builds without it. The Game is more fun that way. And think about all the Players, who cant grow high runes in their garden...
for example I like the FC wearbear. But by using Eni and stacking FCR, you Just loose so much damage compared to a 4 Rbf Armor or shield Especially if you lack high runes and dont have infi.
If you want to try a funny hybrid, play a FC Arma Hybrid. Looses some FC damage, but Arma makes Up for that. Combine that with that +7 ele Hammer in Slot 2 to precast (yes chars actually work without cta) and have an good time. My fav WB back then 😊 works with WW too

Decent but not tuned right. My fireclaw druid got 20k fire damage use armageddon for aoe i got around 5k physical damage and leach like a champ. I can do p3 every place in the game pretty well and places with no fire immune i do p8 in secs.

Ribcracker, shael, up it later when you can / need. Buriza is another decent option at the mid levels.
So sad, we can't play with fire builds, só much imunes.
Once your character has done all the quests and gathered all the waypoints, you can go for a pure fire build and then use it for magic-finding in areas where fire immunes are uncommon or nearly nonexistent. Once in a while you'll get a little boss that spawns fire immune and that's what your mercenary is for - or you can just walk around it/teleport past it and leave it alone.

As much as I like D2, the gear, drops, setups and etc. are absolutely boring and everyone is using the same shit. Grinding this game is useless and shows how stupid people playing this game are. All of the white, blue, yellow items that drop should be useful, yet most of the game's drops are never picked up. 99.999% of the items dropped in D2 throughout its history of people playing were never picked up, and served no purpose because they were not sojs or hrs or other such unique nonsense.
The game is fun UNTIL you get the endgame gear. The game itself is barren from a story perspective. I like how it looks and how it works, but it is nothing more but a hack and slash timesink.
D1 was more intense. D2 should be played like D1, then it is fun.
