1) Going over the attributes I was showing the res on switch. The main hand 11:16 res is a little bit lower but I still have 84 lightning resistance.
2) I didn't specifically go over the gloves but I was using venom grips. Dracs, or crafted blood gloves would be great substitutes as well.

D2 is surprisingly active. Not to mention that the game has a lot of different big transformative mods with their own seasonal ladders, as well as new ones coming out. Guess people aren't lying when they say D2 is a masterpiece.

Very comprehensive and straight forward guide, worked like a charm!👌First torch farm for me and the health of the Ubers melted like butter, even though i don't have exile and was rolling with HOZ. Another adjustment I made, was with the belt, rings and gloves. I still don't have wisp, so I replaced the belt with T-god and the second ring was carrion wind, because of the poison resist. The gloves were dracs ofc.

This is a great guide - and one that really works. I have almost the identical set up (crappy KS, and no paly torch nor ani), but even with -36 poison resists, Lilith is nearly easy (as long as she doesn't have a mana draining boss nearby - if so, take that boss out first, as no mana = no smite = no life tap). Ubers still take finesse, but with some practice, they drop pretty quickly.
The real problem with this guide? He doesn't answer the most important question of all: do you ID the torch or trade it for a 4x3?????? ;)
BTW - I can't recommend highly enough his suggestion about placing 1 point into zeal if you use Grief. It's been very, very helpful in keeping the Smiter alive while getting organs/torches once the boss is dead.
In 2025 the pause before “let’s jump in” will be 4 hours long.

Since I found this guy and llama on UA-cam I have built a decent enough computer to play d2. Primarily play bnet. Got my smiter, dragon paladin and many other awesome builds running full steam. Lots of great people in the community. D2 is so good. Also started new d3 characters with my gf on her switch. Much more casual but fun nonetheless. Thanks for the videos man!

I run COH/last wish/exile/dracs. There is no scenario I don't have life tap
When I built my über paladin, the life tap was my biggest concern. Life tap wand made the use of CTA very complicated. I did not have a good base for exile, so I did not want to burn hugh runes for a medicore base, while I had a nice HoZ. Last wish is super expensive. So the last option was Draculs grasp. It only gives 5 % chance for proc, so it can be still a rejuve intensive option. My solution was the use of Marrowwalk. Since dracs hav open wound and GFace CB, the use of Gore riders was not necessary. So I can start the bosses with a life tap charge and then dracs will proc eventually during the fight. I lose 15 % CB and 10% OP but overall it is a slightly slower and much cheaper build for my smiter.
Just got into diablo 2 and I'm pumped. Although I play on PS4 and have yet to teleport around. Farming andarial because I can and pushing into act 2 with like 4 different builds so far. Can't commit.
Update. I have been farming runes like crazy and decided to give in and create an elsa..
I went with:
Last wish phase blade
Enigma
Exile 40+res sacred rondanche
Kiras guardian no socket
Maras raven tgods dwarf
Gores
20ias crushing blow crafted HP gloves
No torch
I'm very happy with the build, 5mins or less to open&kill all 4 portals and hardly ever use rejuvs (1 in 3 games)
I tried upped hoz and sanctuary but the extra chance to cast lifetap from exile really really helps tons.
If you're looking for a good smiter build and can afford last wish&enigma I reccomend this build highly..everything else in this setup is cheap besides the maras
I see that you are using grief + exile. I always preferred lw + upped hoz but both setups work. Lw is more efficient in terms of safety and grief takes out the last sliver of ubers life faster. Overall the lw setup would run ubers slightly faster than grief setup if ran and geared properly but that depends on preference. Both setups get the job done.

I think you should cover a 1 pt smite 1 pt fanaticism rest into hammerdin and holy shield and then have gear switch between hammerdin and then go smite for ubers after farming keys. My favorite ladder build. Just short on stash space lol.
The hunt for 2-20 pally amu begins
Yes, I understand that the whole point of the build is to try something different; however, This build makes Lilith more deadly , And doesn’t make Meph proportionally less deadly.
Losing string for Arach is a big deal. The Magic dmg reduce when you’re getting hit several times a second quickly adds up to a reduction of 100+/sec. It also applies to each Meph bolt.
No Zeal makes MDen much harder (slower) to navigate. The time saved with faster cast is lost from repositioning rather than just Zealing the minions.
The lost Res all and lost BO levels from Maras vs the crafted ammy add up.
CRafted gloves would make losing Guillames for Shako an easy swap. 25 crushing blow is enough with the grief damage.
Shako boosts life and reduces enough melee dmg that all the points to get higher resistances aren’t worth it.
Just leave Salvation active vs Meph is an easy solution to a lot of problems.
TLDR: Shako + Maras + String gives enough extra life and reduces enough damage that all the points spent to get bonus max res isn’t really keeping you alive better. 300+ more life to your max, maybe closer to 400.
Edit: forgot to add, for Uber’s, Barb merc are vastly superior to A2 merc. They can get tons of crushing blow to help get the life bar dropping.
But I had zero problems with any of them tho .....

Faster tele saves about a second every 10 casts vs tele with spirit for the 30/breakpoint. The time spent repositioning in the MDen lost all of that saved time, that a couple Zeal’s could have also recovered.
If the purpose of the build is speed torch farming, there are better ways of achieving that goal than committing your merc and several of your smiter’s gears to 75 cast.
A Barb merc is the change I would definitely consider.
You have a LW phase I believe? There’s his wep. The fade should proc by the time you reach Trist, giving him enough res all to tank Meph.
Other weapon choices: death in eth CB/CS (LW in eth CB is stylin). Or Lawbringer phase. The decrepify casts just enough that you override it with life tap to keep your ball full. And the sanctuary keeps undead off your back (more important on botnet Trist).
Duress is an often forgotten armor that can get him close to 100% crushing blow with LW and give him open wounds. Add Kira’s for cbF and enough res all to tank Meph.
CoH + Cham’ed Guillames is the other option I’d consider.
For your gear, as I mentioned already, crafted gloves, Shako, String, Maras will make your tele cheaper and give your more mana as well as enough life and dmg reduce to absorb more burst dmg. You’ll still have 25% crush, and merc handless that to a large extent anyway.

Very useful guide! Question- do you ever have issues when you're swarmed by the phys-immune gnats? Or does the fast teleport fix that for you?

You can also turn him into a hammerdin/smiter of some sort. I feel like the high fcr is wasted on just teleporting lol. You can use beast runeword on a caduceus for fanaticism. Then max out concentration aura instead so you'll have very high ed (fanaticism + concentration) 😁😁😁

You mentioned that using dracs for additional chance to open wounds is "overkill" because of the shield you're using; and your using exile. Can you explain why that is the case?

Playing Diablo 2 since 2001, still dont get why "Ignore target's defense" and "-25% Target defense" exist together... Does second one applies debuff, while first works only for this weapon's hits?
I know this is an year old comment, but saw it and just wanted to answer in case you still wonder - The "Ignore target's defense" doesn't work on bosses, so you have the "-25%" portion of it for the boss fights.

I had max charge for pvp but almost the same build but I didn’t care about fcr cause the charge hits full screen al most and you smite them 1-2 times dead. Think I had COA and prolly a mara on. Had the super high bugged vortex I made and found. I want to play so bad but I know I’ll get bored quick.
My ultimate gear is: LW + Sanctuary (115 all res) + Tgods + Raven + BK + 20ias/10cb gloves + gface 15/15 res + Hotspur boots + maras + res gc/scs.
exile, grief, forti, laying of hands, tgods, gores, wisp, raven, gface, maras is by far the fastest setup

@@messitup 3os Tomb Reaver with 2 Amn and a Sheal, CoA with Cham and Ber, Sacred eth bugged CoH is, in my experience, the tankiest merc. 2 sheals in Tomb Reaver if not paired with a Fanta Aura

The community consensus is that you need about 300 Light Res and two sources of light absorb (Wisp + TGod's) to tank Mephisto's Conviction/Light attack with absolute certainty. He can and will one shot you if life tap does not proc fast enough.

Hardcore is a different beast, obviously. Soft core isn’t as deadly as you make it sound.
Maras, CoH, shield auto mod, torch, Anni, Anya quests... there’s 200. Salvation takes you to 300 with your gear skill bonuses and 1 point.

Hey Dbrunski smite can do poison damage?
Would Hoz work instead of exile? Thinking of going for one of these hybrid tele smiters to get in on the early torch action next ladder reset.
It definitely works. The runes and a good base shield for exile take a while to find. So HoZ HAS to work.
HoZ seems to want you to use Grief- with all the extra ED% from skills, grief damage gets a big boost, but then you’re stuck with either life tap charges on a wand, or Dracs for 5% chance at life tap.
The blocking and res all will keep you alive though.
When you say “hybrid... for early torches” I think you’re forgetting that you won’t have enigma before your first torch.
Any high crushing blow weapon/setup and a random spirit is a far more likely early setup.

Grief is more dmg. LW is nice because of fade proc. So grief is better choice especially for cost of runes, however you’re indestructible with fade LW

I have always used hoz and grief. Ubers take like 3 minutes and I never die. I don’t know why more people don’t use that set up. I also use shako instead of g face or coa. And enigma 100% I’m not saying this is the way to go but I have done every smite set up I can think of over the years and I think I like this most. Also goblin toe boots.

How do smiters deal with physical immunes?

I like more cheap smiter. Mighty scepter with 2 shaels, guilla helm with um, herald of zakarum with white perrfect, verdungo, guardian angel sok with all rez, drakul gloves, gore rider, amulet and 2 rings to max ur rez, ofc cta(2600hp). With salvation you kill mefo (90all rez), then others are veeery izi. Verry cheap build, only zarum is the most expensive item. I make uber with sorc combo. 5 mins.

I think boring make this with telport wand/staff and literally no gear palaspirits maby zaka etc duress guillaume those cb boots and 6sox phaseblade with shaels telporting with that unique 2hand axe kinda crazy..planning to try it on hc.. tho little betr gear there but nothing crazy like enigmas or other hr made items.

Depending on other gear choices, your character is a confused mess.
You either have no BO, or weak hammers + mediocre smite.
Just respec when you have keys saved up...
I play with kingslayer and gloom and blackthrone mask amu is rising sun rave ring and carrion wind,laying of hands from disciple, gore riders,thundergods vigor and exile shield. The rising sun and carrion pls the gloom dmg take gose back to mana combo works like a charm when i fight all 3 ubers, diablo summons pitlods and uses fire skills and my life is all the time full like i am using non stop full rejuv and the dmg taken gose back to mana is garte when the baal minon hits and and take all my mana i get full fast.I like to play on b.net single player is too easy and lame.

I want to run Ubers with PlugY, But the lack of minions is kind of a downer.

I just made this character what happens to me is that my weapon keeps getting damaged which gets costly.

I play 1.13 with plugY and I cannot get 5 sockets on a sword or 4 sockets on a shield... WHY?? Even with the socket quest my Crystal sword only goes up to 3 open sockets. Why is that?
It depends on where you found the items. If you found that Crystal Sword in normal difficulty it can never roll 4 open sockets, for example.
For budget setup to kill ubers get lifetap wand and black runeword. GG. Doing Uber with a weak ass lv 70 smiter pala.

I notice you use holy shield than battle orders. Your losing 1 level that way. Use battle orders than holy shield for +1 lvl

Sorry I watch the video twice but I don't understand why you chose those gloves vs blood gloves as they can have CB as well. However in this could be information that we don't need a BIS blood glove for this build.
I think he just put those gloves for some cb. It's not super important.

Dbrunski with the gear you have I think it's time for you to run ubers with a different build than a smiter.
Uber’s block melee attacks, making it a lot slower with other chars. There’s also their huge defense and the relatively low chance to hit them.
dude, I really don't get the gloves. why not craft some? 5% is nothing, you could just use double upped bloodfists and I think they would be better.
Check my pinned comment. Yes blood gloves are prob more optimal but I really dont think it matters tbh. Dracs is overkill with the life tap but has open wounds so I could swap gores for goblin toes. Venom grip gives a little cb and some psn res for lilith. Crafted blood gloves has potential to add some additional stats like plus life and str and a little bit more crushing blow. Blood fist is just some extra health and fhr which doesnt benifit a smiter at all imo. But at the end of the day will you notice any difference between any of these gloves when your doing a run? Honestly prob not.

Merc take crazy damage from bosses, Lilith also does the most physical damage if all the Uber’s, AND merc was taking double of all that damage because of amp dmg curse
