If your confused he means 3+5 is 8 so the speedometer reads 15 25 35 45 55 15 mph 1+5 = 6 so 6 gear 2+5= 7 so 7th gear and so on
Solid 🔥
what? do you mean 1500rpm is equal to 5, and 25mph is equal to 3, so 5+3=8? so 25 mph is 8th gear? what about 20mph? 5+2=7 ?
@@nn-dj2nu 25mph 👉🏽5+2 is 7 therefore you should be in 7th gear at 25mph
@@FaroutTruckin TY
Do these same numbers work on an 8 speed?
Straight to the point and didn’t make it complicated ,u got a subscriber 😼
Appreciate it
Thank you so much bro appreciate I'm from morocco I hope you have a amazing weekend ^-^
I think the biggest thing when you miss a gear is not freaking out, not panicking and worrying about all the assholes behind you, other people have brakes, and other people can wait, just take your time and get back and gear and go
That was my biggest fear lol .. i always panicked thinking they wont slow down
Now i dont give a fuck 🤣🤣
good afternoon sir great videos and perfect well explained tips thank you for your time and effort in recording these videos....would you please record a video of parallel parking I know its alot to ask but you're the only one I learn off from
most underrated channel on yt
😂
Been away from driving for ten years. Yesterday I tried for my CDL. Terrible. Grinding and losing gears. Thanks
Thanks guy I’ve been watching a lot of shifting videos trying to sharpen my skills I really like the way you explain it almost a elementary way. Nothing bad on you but maybe you unlocked my hard head anyway great job thanks again.
Thanks
Extremely helpful video my man this is exactly how I do it. Much is made of the RPM gauge, but you also need to look at your speed to decide what gear you need to be trying to get into.
Accurate 👍🏽
Man ur the best. Audio clear. Best clear vision . Smoothe illustration. Simple instructions.. best ever did it salute. I started driving yesterday in the oil fields in the huge windy Appalachian mountains.. your vids comfort me
Thank you brah
Thank you so much. As a new driver, I learned alot from you. I did not know what to do finding next gear before this video.
Just what I needed. Got a road test with prospective employer next week, super helpful video. Thanks for doing these videos!
How you come out?
Thank you for this video. I learned on a manual but the job gave me an automatic for the last 4 years. It’s a good refresher.
Bro I’ve been driving a 10 speed for a bit and never knew this method. Thanks brother!! Much love, stay safe.
Appreciated 🟢
Wonderful video! I would recommend to all new drivers out there. Schools do not teach stuff like this.
Wow😮 this is very effective.. good job bro
I can’t wait to try this out, this seams so easy and effective, why don’t school teach you this ? Thanks a lot, I’ve never heard the 5+2=7 5+3=8 and etc before, I wish I did, thanks a lot
YW! Take a look at my other video how to downshift lower gears ⚙️ they go hand in hand.
@@FaroutTruckin just watched it brother, thanks a lot, you should make a video explaining the step to downshifting when floating gears, I’m still learning and it’s sometimes hard to understand how to work the gas pedal to pop out and in gears specifically when downshifting
I've driven trucks with speedometers not working whenever I miss especially in downshifting I have to quickly search through a few gears. So what do you recommend
What if I’m going like 7mph is that like 1st or 2nd gear??
If you’re coasting and your engine is at idle, 1-5 mph = that gear. 5mph is 5th gear with no rev. Same for 1 2 3 and 4
I’m working on my CDL now and I didn’t just start panicking but it pissed me off.
Those two things don’t help. Now I have to work my way back to calm, relaxed and start over. This video is very helpful
Thank you so much!
When you're coasting in neutral and you rev it up, do you use the clutch? Or just hold it against the opening of the gear?
After coasting In neutral, I rev it up to raise my rpm (14-15) then the gear I choose to go into is dependent on my speed I can either clutch in gear or hold the shifter against the opening of the gear.
@@FaroutTruckin thanks so much for the input
@@tmonjr8490 anytime 👍
Thank you my brother for posting this. You have taught me so much in just a few short and straight to the point videos! I will definitely be subscribing and watching all of your videos!
I believe so too NO GRIND IT TILL YOU FIND IT!!! it's rubbish.
What if I’m about to stop at a light and it turns green? I’m still rolling and in 5th gear but almost stopped. Do I go neutral and rev and catch 3?
At the stop sign you don’t go back to first gear and only went to third. You don’t have to go to first gear from a stop??
Bless up dawg, keep it up in the midst of getting my cdl too. The videos dem really help man hopefully we get to meet up one day 💪🏾 island tings
I swear this is the Best truck driving video …appreciate you bro
Dude I Lerner more with your video than my instructor with his heavy accent trying to explained it to ne
Help!!!! Question: what is the math for a 13 speed?
thanks
Bro how to move forward an incline without rolling back.
Bro your great at teaching. Thanks for all this tips.
He's a better teacher than friends I've known forever who have their CDLs
Thank you for your help
As a new driver to a big rig what if your gages isn't working
Also for example if ur upshifting say from 8-9th gear and miss 9th and ur at 40 mph u can either bump to around 1000 rpm and slip into 9th on the low end or rev to 15-1600 and catch the high end of 8th gear
Yea , my problem is going up a goddam hill and trying to shift in the low gears like 3rd to 4th
That's the best video I've seen to help so far.
Thank you driver 🤘🏾
How about a 13?
hey just want to say thank you for the great video. you example really well! cheers from ON Canada
Cheers😎
Great video man thanks!
Can you make a video on it please.
Love you bro thank you bro you just guaranteed my $1600 a week from this video APTTMH
Grind it till you find it 😂😂😭
This guy is spot on. Learned so much. Real world driving understand better
Thanks for your support
Best shifting video
4:40 helped a lot thanks
Smooth like butter
I wonder if it would help new people to put little numbers stickers on the speedometer showing you where the gears start and then the next number would be where the next gear starts so you could just look and go I'm between seven and eight so I'm going into seven. After a while it would become muscle memory and you wouldn't need the numbers anymore and you could take them off.
I have a class B CDL that I got 20 years ago. Have driven trucks with 5 and 6 speed synchromesh trannys and I enjoyed your video about double clutching a non synchro gearbox.I found that even with a synchro tranny double clutching does make shifting easier.
thanks for this
Gotta follow you now
Thank you bro
Best video yet for me 🎯
Thanks man, they don’t teach this in truck school for some reason. Maybe I’ll have to ask lol
Perfect timing for me to find this video. lol I just got back into a truck after 5+ years and last time I drove a 10 speed I was so used to it that it was all by feel basically. I screwed up my shifting and kind of panic. In my head I was wondering how I can figure out what gear I need to get myself into once I loose it like I did. I totally forgot about the speed plus 5 rule. Thank you again and keep up the good work...
🐐
Man these are some of the most helpful videos I’ve seen. Thank you for posting them. Especially with explaining the mph to gear. other videos say “match engine speed with rpm’s” with much further explanation.
Thanks!
good job
i hopped into a new work truck for fridays shift, it was a 10 speed, i learned real quick that its not the same as a regular standard car. i have no experience with this type of thing. i have a 5a license, it was a long and stressful day! i did have a few missed shifts. mainly forgetting the switch lever from 5 to 6, and the truck has a short throw shifter, which made it hard to tell where i was , neutral or in the gear i was switching to. given it doesn't move more than 2 or 3 inches total. after your explanation i might have a fighting chance on monday. thank you for the lesson!
Yeah mom respect mi brother this is very helpful
That’s it‼️
🙏🙏🙏
Sending you two viral bottles thank you king🍾🍾🙏🏿
Respect🫡

Wow thats what's up bro

I would round up to the next x5.
Perfect brother thanks
What to do when i miss a gear and it suddenly drops to 5mph what's the fastest way to recover it ?
