Awesome maneuver, one of the most complex moves in Bodyboarding, I practice bodyboard for almost 20 years and only 2 times I was able to pull it off. A lot of love and dedication to the boogie...
@@iaincampbell_ I'm from Cape Verde Islands west Africa, currently living in USA, big up to South Africa Bodyboard Champs, Andre to Jared, you and Tristan, you guys have such incredible waves out there. Big fan. One
I was really worried with the first part of the vid with you just talking. But the second half came through with the goods of those perfect first person clips and analysis
Thanks Iain ! Great instruction and visual of the Air Reverse. I'm going to apply your coaching soon as I get back from my military deployment. Do you have any tips for practicing/training outside of the water ?
Thank you for your service bru! I'm sure as a military man you should be staying fit but I would suggest core work and focusing on keeping as flexible as possible. This will help when you get in the water!
@@iaincampbell_ Thanks Iain. Ive used my time here to focus on strength and flexibility. To practice on extension I'm using an aerobics step board doing motions that mimic ARS, Rolos, and Inverts. Cant wait to get back in the water.
AWESOME vid!! Great explanation, broken down into parts. Best thing about it though is the POV and description of sections etc. Can you draw lines and arrows on it, or too complicated? Thought if it's possible it might help to show for example in that first POV, the sections you're avoiding, the air section you are eyeing off, the line you're drawing to it to keep the speed up, the slight angle away from the face before you turn up to the section then the final angle up to the section.
I will see how I can do this. Never really though about all those points but let me see what I can do when I do the next video. There will be a Air Reverse part 2!
@@iaincampbell_ can't wait to see it! Nothing gets me more pumped for a surf than seeing good POV, I checked out your vids a few months ago and saw your POV airs, I've since replayed them a hundred times haha
Great video Champ!! The part about the crossed legs and head movement is critical, thanks for addressing that. You may want to consider doing a few basic videos, rolls, spins, cutties etc......just to show the basics. May be boring to some, but crucial to others. Cheers Bru!
I will be doing that in the next few weeks. There is a lot to discuss and I was hounded for the big moves first. when it comes to basics thats where I would to put alot more focus!
Very good question Mike. Instinctively they sometimes don’t stay in the water but I guess when the rail is engaged and you are holding that line, fins don’t “need” to be in the water. But it does help you draw lines and change directions quickly.
Iain Campbell , respect Iain for your response my first love was a wave rebel Tamega GT500 bat tail. I’m getting back in the water these days and so many boards to choose from are line of boards 60/40 rails? We’re gonna take a road trip to Mexico for some waves and tacos know any fun spots there? anyways enjoy the videos n tips as well as your humble attitude respect man.
You missed one point in this video,a large south african great white tailing behind will help you gain speed to pull off this trick lol, great vid one of my favorite tricks to watch.
Where are you based? We can do that for sure. I have a plan to do a meet up in Cape Town in the next month... If you are around the area would love to have you there.

Excelente video, es mi aspiración lograr esa pirueta, gracias por la explicación, saludos desde Chile
Gracias mi amigo.
I have problems making the leg crossing in the turns, how can I practice it out of the water?
Try acting it out on the sand or your bed. Spinning your head and going through the motion of spinning. Keep trying that and it should come to you.
i asked you about in the last videos and you does what i said thank you so so much i am really in need to those technique!!!!
There is more to come soon!
Maestro!, why do u have to push the bodyoard once u arrive to the lip?
Just to keep your weight centered on the board, that way you won't be too far forward and go off the back...
@@iaincampbell_ Thank u ! i understand now
You make it look so easy man.
Is that clip at 3:55 in a comp?
Yes that’s from the event in Arica. 😉
@@iaincampbell_ nice. Surely a 10?!

thank for your help mr
awesome video! huge fan, keep it up!
sick vid bru! maybe considering investing in a good mic to reduce that echo sound to improve audio quality. thanks so much for posting this!
Cheers for the advice but I’m using a mic already. It’s not the best but maybe just the empty room I was in. Thanks for the support 🤙🏼
Please help I still can't do them.. how you get the pop out to rotation that the hardest part 😥
All about timing and head movement.
@@iaincampbell_ more tips.on this pleaseeee
More on this please I still have the hardest time. I can air reverse for shyt. Thanks
Will try do a second video to help a bit more 🤙🏼🤙🏼
@@iaincampbell_ yes please, I can't get the timing or rotation down. 😫
I’m late to these comments but a new subscriber, very informative and good description can you add in the videos the locations if you remember?
Yes sure I can. Welcome to the channel. Good to have you here 🙏🏼
Iain Campbell Thx Iain, I’m looking at your boards I’m 5-7” 168lbs. Prone rider out of Oceanside,Ca north of San Diego any suggestions?
So I would think you should be on a 41 inch. I know in Oceanside the water isn’t too cold so maybe a PP or NRG would be best.
