Mr. Steve Hall must have lived in Tennessee for awhile. He said casserole like 50 times instead of hotdish. I wish I knew of him sooner. He seemed like a genuine guy who loved what he did. There's still a lot of great videos of his to watch though. 🙂 Rest in Peace.

I made this recipe almost exactly as stated. Only difference is that I used cream of celery soup instead of chicken and because we had a big box I used Cheez it crackers on top.
I would certainly put it right up there with the Cracker Barrel recipe which is obviously similar. Something about potatoes-sour cream-cheese together cannot be beat. I think they would love this dish in Russia and eastern Europe.
Never stopped watching, always enjoy these dishes. Hope the lovely Miss Sheila is doing well. Rolltide!😀

I always add diced ham and pimentos to my casserole and top with crumbled bacon. But I’m going to try adding the buttered Ritz cracker topping next time because it looks 👀 so good.

And I thought it was me!!I hate cutting onions like the professional chefs. Thank you for showing me that I am not crazy! I tried and tried to do it like they show but always went back to my old way. I am 73 and a home cook Retired small contractor who just likes to cook .
I am so sorry to hear of this mans passing ,the thing that always impressed me is not only his cooking but the way he treated Sheila , I always thought he showed great respect and honor.
We will all miss this man .

Hello...love you you two vidioes...i have tried a few and this one...i changed a few things i hope you dont mind...i doubled the recipe...i added crumbled bacon and sausage to it...then i cooked it in my pellet smoker for the same temp and time using cherry and apple pellets mixed...i cooked it the first 30 mon. with the tinfoil off to pick up the smoke flavor then the second 30 min. with tinfoil on so it wouldnt burn...the wet crackers picked up the smoke flavor and it turned out tasting great....keep up posting the great recipies...
