    Great idea to work on both socks in parallell. Will do that straight away as I will be casting on another pair for my husband.

    Great tip to baste a cardigan button-band before blocking. Thanks ❤

    I hope your hairdresser was kind about your reason for running late 😅. I totally get the critical “hate it” phase. That often happens to me about halfway through. I’ll suddenly doubt my yarn choice, worry the garment will not stretch enough / stretch too much, the neckline will feel weird or I’ll start noticing little mistakes… usually I’ll do what you do: upon completion just start wearing it. It’s like saying, this is my baby, I’m going to love it. And then I do. Sometimes despite its imperfection, I love it. Because I know how much time and care went into it. And usually, it is pretty darn impressive! I am completely self (UA-cam) taught, and I think that’s ok. Lovely episode, I appreciate your honest opinions on yarn and patterns. ❤

    I did the same thing with my first commission don’t feel bad thank you for reminding me to learn the lesson though and not repeat it again thank you. Don’t undervalue yourself.

    Love your idea to change 2x2 rib to 1x1 for tubular bind off. Which make M1P do you use specifically? M1L or M1R purl? or is it lifted increase? Thank you for the tip!

      You're welcome! You can actually use any purl increase for this. I usually do M1LP.

    I wonder if duplicate stitches would make the difference between socks less visible? I had to look for a long time to notice the difference, but on the other hand, those are sisters, not twins :)
    I also hate those pale blue colors! My fiance wanted a sweater in pale blue drops cotton merino. I started it twice, never finished the sweater and I'll sell this yarn because I can't stand this color. And if it comes to the similarities, I also dislike the finished object after it's done. Recently I've finished a champagne cardigan in dark green color and I thought it looks bad. But I forced myself to wear it at least once and I love it. I think it might be the case of being your own worst critic ;)
    You need to drop the name of this dyer, I'd be happy to check what she has in the store and support the small business :D
    Currently I'm in the WIP ocean with 3 sweaters, 5 different socks (2 pairs will be gifted), a hat, unfinished cumulus blouse that needs to chill for a few more months 🤡and a hat. why am I like this

      Regarding the dyer, I added a link to her insta store in the description, her handle is luckyyarn. She does ship worldwide.
      Yup, we are definitely our own worst critics, especially since no one stares at our stitches longer than we do ourselves 💀 I let the sock mistake go, so to speak, as it's just two extra rounds and not really detrimental to the way the finished pair looks. Not a mistake, just a happy accident 🤣
      Glad to know we're both in the pale blue haters club 🤣
      Hope you get some momentum to swim out of your WIP ocean with your sanity intact lol 🫶

    У мене та само проблема зі шкарпетками) Але відколи почала в'язати їх водночас (правда я роблю це на одних спицях за допомогою magic loop), люблю цей процес набагато більше. До того сама думка про те, що треба одразу ж робити те саме дуже демотивувала

    • @andoliniknits
      @andoliniknits  2 місяці тому +1

      Так, головне не бачити один з них "закінченим", поки другий ще на спицях. Інакше мотивація закінчити пару пропадає одразу))

      @andoliniknits о так! Плюс останні, які я робила по одній, вийшли дуже різними по довжині, хоч я й рахувала повтори 😅 поняття не маю чому)

    How much are you charging her for the socks? I’m really curious. I’m selling my socks and I’m trying to find a good price.

    • @andoliniknits
      @andoliniknits  2 місяці тому

      I charged the same price for the knitting work as for the materials, so in total she paid twice the price of the hand-dyed yarn for her pair of socks. Hope that makes sense. I felt like it was a reasonable price.
