Love your suggestions and tips for yarn while you shared the patterns. As a new knitter it gives me some things to think about when considering yarn for new projects (ie use sock yarn for patterns that call for fingering weight wool yarn). Just subscribed. Excited to see more vids from you!
Thank you! Just make sure you use a sock yarn with nylon or PA and not 100% superwash fingering, since 100% superwash can stretch like crazy. Retrosaria Mondim is also a great non-superwash sock yarn, but it is a tad bigger than regular sock yarn.
Love seeing all your makes and always enjoy having some pattern inspiration too. I have the Siri Cardigan on my 'to knit' list. Just need to decide what yarn to use!
You are not late! Crafting schedules work on their own time - you do your thing! I'm still working on transitional sweaters. This is amazing inspiration! Thank you!
Wow! Beautiful makes…. Luv your yarn combo on the puff tee. And your accidental twin set: autumn perfection. ☺️ Thank you so much for your pattern and yarn suggestions: greatly appreciated; I added 2 to my list!❤ I’m working on the Hiedra mitts by Fiber Tales and the Thaleia shawl by Sari Nordlund…. Need to make a puff tee now and a Siri Cardigan…
Thank you so much! Definitely make a Puff tee, it's such a well-written pattern and nice fit. I still can't decide between Siri and Beatrix cardis, and now petiteknit also released a cabled cardigan... 😅 Hiedra mitts are beautiful, I'll definitely save this pattern for the future!
Thank You, !! You are not being mean, I agree - I am so totally sick of all the patterns suggesting holding two strands and ALWAYS with something FUZZY, a little goes a long way folks - lets move on to other fabulous yarn choices with one STRAND. Too much repetition with the patterns too - so many are almost cloned to each other - I am a new knitter and going slowly and just finished my first cardigan in over 40 years! I like to try all designers as well, but this one was from Petite Knit and I have to admit the instructions were for beginners which is a good thing. I was doing mostly summer sweaters with short sleeves during the summer - cotton and merino blends, it was a lot of fun - Thank you for your lovely ideas much appreciated. Georgia in BC
Thank you, Georgia, I was happy to share! ❤️ I'm glad I'm not the only one. As I said, silk mohair creates a very nice fabric in the end, but while I was browsing through the patterns for this video, I realized it was almost impossible to find a pattern that doesn't ask for holding two strands together. I'm all for mixing and matching, but if you're a beginner, for example, it can be quite intimidating to buy twice the quantity just to follow the instructions, not to mention the cost of it all. Also, mohair or anything super fuzzy is hard to unravel, which is another issue for a beginner knitter.
You're comment about sock yarn being more durable is only true if you're not knitting a structured garment, or colorwork. I say this because most "sock yarn" is superwash wool. It will lengthen and "shift" over time because the surface scales have been removed. It'll look amazing for maybe 1-3 years then you'll start to notice the changes. If you're determined to use a superwash yarn, knit it in pieces because those seams with give you some structure to slow down the shifting and lengthening. (Also alpaca by itself will also grow over time... so again think SEAMS.🤓) Also... just using sock yarn as a substitute for fingering plus mohair will throw off your gauge. Maybe use suri alpaca with your fingering yarn. Fingering plus mohair knits up closer to a DK gauge. Or another choice that'll get you closer to the proper gauge would be fingering plus lace weight or 2 strands of a light fingering.
Thank you for sharing your experience! However, I used regular SW sock yarn for garments paired with mohair and usually the nylon helps with the structure of the garment, unless you're knitting a quite open gauge. There are also non-SW options, and a gauge swatch is a must for pretty much any knitting project.
I hear ya! My fall doesn't start until October. It is still hot here in NC in September. Love the cables of the Siri Cardigan. 🧶You have given me so many new cardigans to add to my list. As a fellow daddy's girl, I love your Puff Tee story.💜
That's the beauty of it, it has very minimalistic cables, but still evokes the shape and style of classic Aran cardigans. I would also add pockets to it if I decide to make it.
I think it might work with a bamboo or cotton/acrylic blends (like Drops cotton light), but I would not recommend linen or viscose since too much drape in the fabric might defeat the purpose of the puffy sleeves.
Ouuuu i love the Beatrix Cardigan a tonnn 😍
Your Korshavn stripe looks like a deliberate nuance in the pattern. Very nice
Thanks! 😅❤️
Great video! Hope to see more next time soon😍
Thanks!

I'm such a fan of other loops patterns right now🥹

Thank you ❤️ We finally started to get some sweater weather here, but I am 100% a summer person. So jealous of your weather!
❤❤❤😘
The Beatrix cardigan looks more like a waffle pattern. A couple of cables doesn't make an Aran cardigan 😊

do you think puff tee would work well with summer yarns, like cotton/linen/bamboo?
