There is something so haunting yet cool about the machines in the water
Quite eerie looking at all those buried objects...well done! Not sure why there would be 1.7K dislikes? What's to dislike?
the word 'treasure' has different meanings for different people. For an explorer, anything can be a treasure. Great video. great music.
I’ve been to this quarry, it’s quite amazing seeing all the equipment. located in Melissa, TX.
Wow I have one but it's not full yet but there is a like really deep hole and u can swim its really fun up there it's in westerly ri
@BLoNY100 I don’t think you’d want to but my friends did. Lots of motor oil and stuff like that. Might be cool to grow that third eye.
There's one close to 380 between Princeton and McKinney, too. I wanted to go there so bad when we lived in Princeton, but I heard they run people off pretty quick when they try to go back there so I never chanced it.
@@lancealston9588 So that's where my second grade teacher picked hers up😂
There is one here in my area of Tennessee (not sure if this is it) but the story has it that the company was mining, and when using dynamite, they accidentally blew a hole into an underground aquifer and this similar thing happened. They didn't have time to remove the equipment, because it flooded so fast.
Im from tn as well.ive heard the same story
How deep is it? Any deaths?
@@fourlamb1 I heard that people were able to make it out but it flooded so fast they couldn't get the equipment out.
@@jdailey19811
Interesting, thank you. Is it very deep?
@@fourlamb1 as far as depth, I am not sure, but I have been told that the Sheriff's department has been out there with sonar on boats, and at the deepest point, which is where the aquifer would have been, they pinged out at 200 ft deep but could be deeper. The property is owned by Rogers Group, and nobody is allowed back there, for liability reasons. They have had people arrested for trespassing on the property.
It's so hard to believe the quarry company would leave all that equipment behind.
Recovering and starting up those old pieces is another show all together that I'd watch for sure!!!
I've swam in a quarry just like this before. I live in the Slate Belt (yes thats the real region name) we are notorious for slate mining here in eastern pennsylvania... i've swam in plenty in my teenage years and early 20's... lots of fun. Some even have dangers like this but we all made sure to be safe.... We even built ladders into the trees to jump off extra high... There was a network around us of about 4-5 quarries for slate, when bored of one we would go to another, one in particular was what we call "new age" machined, instead of a rough outside, this entire quarry was cut like a giant box, it was perfectly square... after a 30 foot drop we would swim to the complete opposite side about little less then a football field and a friend would help pull us out since there was a big ledge. the sketchiest part about that was swimming through all the reeds and lilly pads that for some reason that quarry had growing in them... we used to catch eel in there at night and many other fish, camp out overnight. lots of good times and lots of good memories in those quarries. Probably bodies too but hey. not my business. (we were told that the mafia and alot of other smaller mobs would quarrel and kill and dump the bodies there in quarries around us since the area was mostly made of of immigrants at the time mostly Italians, irish, ect, dont know if they were just rumors or true tales. guess we will never know But i know a quarry makes for a damn good swimming time.
Enjoyable to watch and listen, the music is very nice! As for the treasure, it's in the view!
This is what happens when you over fill the water truck...dammit.
lol , you must be familiar with mining.
I thought the same thing, water trucks filled.
The pump got left running.Don't you someone got a but chewing for that.
Lol
Glad it is a reliable piece of machinery that flies very smoothly . Great job !
I actually love the way drones show a whole different view of things.
I fly drones. We're not called pilots, we're called operators. I don't think any of us should be called pilots, either. Pilots get into the sky themselves, operators stay on the ground.
They should send machines like this to the moon or mars as they would cover much more ground then rovers
m beginization Flight characteristics are much more different on Mars. The atmosphere, wind, air pressure, all come into effect in flight. Plus the winds on Mars can have sustained localized gusts far stronger than they do here on Earth, even though Mars has far less and a much different atmosphere. Part of the reason they chose the landing sites they did for the rovers was to minimize their exposure to the high winds and they have specialized protocols for the massive dust storms. Once they even purposefully used a dust devil on Mars to "clean" off the solar panels
Don't get me wrong I'm sure we'll send flying drones to Mars eventually, but probably not until they know for sure it'll work once it gets there. Sending anything to Mars is massively expensive so if they're going to send a flying drone they'll have to make sure it works in a "simulated" Mars environment here on Earth.
MrRavenXavier Maybe a delta wing with FPV would be better then as I seen some flying and they could cover plenty of distance with the expensive gear NASA has just to find the more interesting sites because a rover is so slow.
m beginization the signal delay would make flying drones on mars impossible When the drones can make decisions without human input from Earth then the idea has merit. The reason the rovers are so slow each rotation of the wheels is an separate command sent from mission control on Earth. They analyse the "road" conditions for hazards before sending the next command.
While we're at it.............. they're called "RC AIRCRAFT,"
not "Drones!"
I would love to find places like this!
I half expected the drone to continue right down into the water. Good video.
Sometimes just finding something from the past is treasure for all of those people whining about how “there is no treasure”.
Thumbs down for the clickbait title. I skipped through the video only to see old corroding mining equipment. There is no "buried treasure". Don't waste your time, folks.
+Trumpatier What's junk to you, may be another man's treasure
This is true, but "buried treasure" means buried treasure, no matter who says it. And buried treasure means monetarily valuable items that have been hidden under something.
+Nanna Moon The original title says construction equipment in a flooded quarry. This is obviously a click bait title. Any douche could figure that out.
+Trumpatier You do realize that just the front loader and drill rig are close to $100 million, and who knows what is in the deep water. Buried treasure, no but rather sunken treasure instead especially to collectors
+Nekyta “Reapress” Riely It's a dozer if you look more closely. Dozers are more expensive than front loaders. If the drill rig, the water truck, and the dozer were literally new you would have a total of right below $2 million dollars give or take a very little bit, nowhere near $100 million.
Flooded (and so abandoned I guess) quarry and tons of mining equipments to scrap or fix. This would be an actual treasure for many people including me
Same. All that metal. Be a bitch gettin it out
Yup, piece by piece and a lot of work but depending on what's flooded it can be worth it
Jorgen Dewez somthing beautiful about past equipment under water
Just An Awesome Site 2 Fly Over...Such A Cool Video...Thank You
No problem! Thank you for watching!
Awesome flying man, Lovely shots, You gained a like and a new subscriber.
I _really_ do not fancy the clickbait title, but AWESOME video nonetheless! Really cool to see the equipment left in the water like that, and a really nice mineral-colored water, too!
Very Interesting video there. Well Done.
Now we need a RC Submarine with a GoPro so we can watch from that pov.
SnapPunch Robert Yeah, now that would be cool. :)
And risk the nightmare of finding a leviathan?! Nope!
D B LOL reaper leviathan xD
There is a similar one in Wendell, NC. I used to cliff jump there. It had equipment from that era sticking out of the water. Really cool place you found there!
loved the video. Thanks for posting
Good Job. Well Drone !
The buries treasure was the 3/4 million bucks worth of submerged equipment. The Link Belt Motor Drill , The Cat Wheel Loader and the Ford 850 tanker.Where's this at again .I've got a hoist truck with a 20ton Main hoist and 500ft of cable. I've fished a 1948 D8 Cat out of a deep holler at 300ft with a snatch block.
I'd like to see these pulled out for sure
+TheDodgeMan2001 Me too be sure and make a video of it ;)
English only please. Lol
+Bobby8451 It's supposed to have read Burried treasure. But the word correct changed it to burries and makes me look like a idiot.Kind of makes you wonder if the person who originally programmed it had trouble as a kid with spelling and English classes.
What?
That was so soothing and relaxing.
Well, I think treasure is anything truly interesting - and I don't know about everyone else, but the flooded remains of a once bustling center of human activity is interesting to me! Thanks for sharing this video!
That was great ,Scary !
Not construction equipment.
This area (outside Austin, TX) was a quarry in the 1960's.
After digging and cracking the limestone, a crack made it into an aquifer and the flooding began.
The next day, workers returned to resume work but found the area flooded.
A truck and other equipment were simply flooded and lost.
The owners must have recovered with insurance and simply left.
How deep is it Dan?
Not outside Austin, but the story is basically the same.
Where is it then
@@RC-CARS_VIDEOS North Texas.
@@jilllong6564 what town abouts I wanted to see it on Google earth and see the zillow on it. Looks sweet
LOL... The water truck... "Bob I think it's full, turn the water off!!"
What an absolutely awesome use of a drone.
Marc Allred Agree drone is an awesome thing to have for flying places you can not access that easy! :) Loved the video! Greetings from Ireland! :)
Cool video!
Sometimes the decision is made to simply abandon the equipment after the pit is dug. It is cost prohibitive to try and remove old equipment.
Now do a scuba diving with a gopro and visit those vehicles!
What an awesome video. I would love to dive this lake quary and drag this equipment out.
Nice video man! I especially liked the shots of the fish! Awesome fish finder!
I do not know where this was filmed, but, this is really a common thing here in Texas. Especially Central Texas, around Austin, Lampasas, Canyon Lake, San Antonio, Blanco, Kerrville, etc...... They dig out these Quarries, for granite, Limestone, Marble, etc.... whatever you put on your kitchen counters, headstones, etc... then once they dig so deep, they hit the water table, and these quarries fill up FAST.. I'm talking just a few hours, and it is full.... In Austin, they clean them out, build apartments and homes around them, and call them "Lakes". They usually are full of stolen cars, or cars that people could not afford to pay for, so they dump them in there, and "Report" them stolen.... wink, wink....
Yeah, where I grew up there is a quarry that all the equipment still is at the bottom of . Couple old trucks driving up the ramp as the drivers stopped got out and ran up the grade. These are old trucks, story is they got into an underground river or very very large spring. Quarry is about a quarter mile in size it was filled in a little over 6 hours..... Not sure how that was possible as it is deep too. Water is so cold not many even swim in it .
ID WANNA FILL IT WITH GOLD FISH AND SNORKEL AROUND THE EQIPMENT....
BUT THATS JUST ME....
That sound like a great idea.
I'd imagine it's far too toxic for that...
small lakes like this are extremely dangerous because of how small they are. They are basically a giant stagnate puddle thriving with dangerous viruses and bacteria. No movement in the water, very low oxygen in the water. Good conditions for bad stuff to thrive in. Imagine the insane amount of mosquito larva in there too? not to mention all those toxic algeas that like to live in lakes like this. Then theres the dangrous chemicals those abandoned equipment could have had. Gasoline, antifreeze, oil.... But thats just me worrying just go ahead and swim in it :D
MrDisgruntledGamer1 You must not have seen the fish?
MrDisgruntledGamer1 Aren't all lakes just STAGNANT (not stagnate) "puddles" ? As for toxins... Liberal Hippie!
this was wonderful. thank you for sharing
Great video. I used to swim in a quarry like this and it also had equipment left behind when it flooded. Would make a cool picture from a higher altitude.
Buried treasure? Depends on your definition of "treasure" I guess!
Craig Knudsen: The way technology works today you have to redefine the word "magic".
The treasure is in the 1.8+ million views. That's some decent coinage.
The things people leave behind, SMH! Thanks for the flight!
that water looks so inviting and pretty
A more likely scenario is the mining company went into receivership or bankruptcy and operations were suspended in the quarry. Some equipment was parked on the work site, and the quarry filled with water slowly and the equipment was never salvaged.
Lets find the plug and drain the quarry !
Very cool footage! I was thinking that perhaps the operator was going to land on the Square rooftop of the one submerged vehicle. It would prove the operators descending and ascending skills. LOL. Again, great footage ....very serene. Thanks for sharing.
Thanks Oshawott. Perfect thanks. Although 4wks to go, seasons greetings.
Should fill it with fish, you could use that ramp for a boat launch, could be a great sport fishing lake
Sounds like a good time to me.
+chodepocalypse Ahhhh ok i gotchya, thats a shame though, it has potential

Sure if you want lead/arsenic/heavy metal poisoning
""Drain the Quarry, you'll be sorry!"
I suspect there's a few concrete booted bodies down there.
They can't it will fill back up will water
When it fills up a few things on the bottom for divers to look at when it becomes a scuba diving park. The oil and the gas obviously have been drained out of these machines because there's no sheen on the water you would see some sign of it somewhere. Where they're placed ensures that you're not going to jump off a cliff on to them. Looks like a nice setup for a future place to dive.
A lot of old quarries are used for checking out new scuba divers. The vehicles are put there to make the dives more interesting.I know because I am a scuba instructor and have dived in many of these Quarries, all have planes, trucks, cranes etc.
So cool! Does anyone have any idea what state this is in? Or what country, if it's not in the US? Indiana has some bad ass quarries from what I've heard (and seen on the classic 70s movie 'Breaking Away'). Thanks for sharing this!

To all the naysayers, this old adage fits, 'One mans junk is another mans treasure'.
Very cool video. Thanks for sharing.
WoW!, That's cool , I hated drones when they first came out but now this and it's great!
that's a lot of money in equipment nice find

+bob crutch That's exactly what I was thinking!
damn bro pretty steady with them controls huh keep up the good work I've crashed mine 4 times this is my 3rd drone be careful man keep making vids!
The title mentions "Flooded" and "Treasure", it is really easy to get your hopes up and get the wrong idea. For me this discovery would be a treasure. I did actually get the other idea, but was not disappointed with the video at all, good job :)
Dude honestly doesn't matter about the treasure, have a kid moment and look at the pretty colors.
First person to appreciate the video. THANK YOU.
Np dude :)
Somewhere in that water are 3 valves you have to turn to complete the side mission. F4 reference.
ha ha love it! time to clear out the raiders!
The Dollar Guy then... He turns into a raider! And gets a gang and you have to fight them
The Dollar Guy dammit, now must play fallout 4 again
Great vid!
Amazing -- the power of suggestion in a video title.
skeletons of the drivers are still in the vehicles ...
Good one! Whole new meaning to 'Graveyard shift' lmao
Scott x LMAO at that one "Scott" !
Probably too late to help them
Not that it couldn't be saved, this is common practice..the equipment to much hassle to get from the hole so its left there.
Exactly !!
its a shame, obviously mining equipment such as that big loader is not cheap.
+Billy Boots that drilling truck is the most expensive thing in there
Kenny Wagster I cant see how someone would let it go to waste
Great, high quality video.
Beautiful footage.
THANKS for the nice flight but what's the treasure LOL?
Idk if the water truck is full yet
Amazing quality!
DronedOut, Way cool video and nice smooth flying skills over the quarry. Where is this place at? Awesome video and hope you can make more of abandoned places
Somebody left the valve open on that tanker....look what happened

I'd love to dive this
+Evil GST seeing as it is a quarry or mine, who knows what materials are in that water. I wouldnt even swim in it if it was me. They left it all behind for a reason :-/
+fly.wtf yea that's probably true
+fly.wtf abandoned rock quarry in monroe michigan, over 100 feet deep, crystal clear water you can see until the light fades, warm, clean, private property but the police let you swim there as long as you don't cause trouble, the coolest spot i've ever been swimming ever.
+brutyfruity I hope what you say is true because that sounds awesome!
darthclone7 100% true, I couldn't believe how warm it was for being so deep, and the clearest water i've ever seen, more than florida
Drones shoot such Amazing video. Thanks
Awesome video!
I bet Hoffa's down there...
that's a pretty sick drone. What brand?
Didn't seem sick to me, it flies pretty well.
it's a phantom by the DJI company
Love it when the shadow of the "copter" reflects off the water. If an alligator should ever happen to find its way into the water, overhead shots of it would likely look pretty cool !!!!!!!!
hey, great video, super quality and cool music as well....thanks
Thank you!
i'd recover them and get them working. just need a couple thousand zip ties, a few pairs of flip flops, and a partner with a 55 chevy gasser
***** Roadkill
+LUNITIC WILL what about the duct tape you always need duct tape?
Straws to contain the dehydrated water.
Lmao
You forgot Duct tape.
fraud, no buried treasure here
I didn't see any treasure either
That metal in the waters worth afew thousand dollars if you can get it out that is.
William Breyer buried under water? lel was titanic buried under the sea xD
I do agree with you that it is not buried, title should have been "Finds Sunken Treasure"
Treasure is also iffy, but I think if a person could get them out of the water and strip the equip down, for parts. They might bring in some cash with internet sales. might take some sandblasting and paint thou...
Can u say click bait??
Cool Vid very Strange seeing that equipment covered in water Happy Drone Flying
thats awesome!!! great video
I was wondering where this was at? Looks like a good place to kayak.
+28ashcat This was filmed in Texas!
+DronedOut thanks
+DronedOut coordinate's?
No birds, no fish, probably toxic as hell.
+Frank Mayer . hey frank its norm i think i saw some fish. im going to look again.
Misleading title, where is this buried treasure that you dug up?
They meant the lost equipment...
I guess one mans junk is another mans treasure.....Seems like a very shallow quarry to me. I guess they didnt get too deep before flooding occurred. I live in Wisconsin and there are several flooded quarries. one near sheboygan is a monetized place which is more developed with a water slide built into the side of the quarry. There is a beach type area they created and there are lifeguards and a canteen. They charge you entry fees. The second is called redgranite quarry which flooded in the 1960's so ore carts and other machinery is said to be down there also there was an old garage that got buried with aparent model A car parts littering the area. There is no development at this quarry. Its swim and your own risk. Being 210 feet deep its a popular destination for divers of all skill levels. They say its a deep dark hole with muck on the bottom. There are rumoured to be cranes, cars, barrels, even carnival equipment at the bottom. So far only rail tracks, ore carts, and car parts are all that have been confirmed. 19 ppl have died there since the 70's. Obviously drownings being the main cause of death. Sometimes ppl have slipped from the various cliffs and became incapacitated from hitting there heads on the rocks or they drown after this takes place due to being unconscious. The main reason they found the true depth of the quarry was because the body of a drowning victim was found 210 feet down. Divers have also lost their lives some due to drowning or getting the bends from resurfacing far to quick. Decompression sickness can cause bubbles to form within your body. In your joints, lungs, skin, brain, musculoskeletal joints in your elbows, thighs, ankles, knees etc., in your spinal cord, inner ear, basically the whole body. Though death can happen its usually in extreme cases and is fairly rare. Its still a fun place to swim and jump from the cliff walls. The water is clear blue and usually nice temp. You just have to be aware of your surroundings and be careful and cautious.
what an incredible place... grill with friends, bathing, drinking beer... exploring...
The water is most likely contaminated. I wouldn't get in it.
that would be treasure to me. back in hi~school we had a place like this partied our balls off.
Drowning.
+Gumardee Good one, funny and true.
I love abandoned equipment. its treasure to me.
Treasure ? A water truck, bulldozer and drill rig.......................
***** hardly bud its all rusty crud now lol
tazzydevil1962 ...and all of them, destroyed by years in the water.
taxiuniversum take em' and haul em' for scrap metal.
One man's junk another man's treasure.. I guess.
I wouldn't call it buried treasure.
It's submerged junk worth it's weight in scrap metal which wouldn't even begin to pay the cost of hauling it out.
Klatu Baradanikto Agree Totally!
Klatu Baradanikto What he means by buried treasure is probably that it has a significant historical value, or just a treasure trove of perfect photography opportunities
Anthony Ralph
Maybe he should have given it a different title.
Like Sunk junk.
Klatu Baradanikto drain it dickweed, and DRIVE THEM OUT!
Enjoy!
The rental cost for the pump equipment would be triple the cost of the scrap metal.
Plus the time it would take to pump out all the water, that includes the fuel to run the equipment and the payroll for the help all for a mere few hundred dollars for rusty steel that needs to be pulled out with heavy equipment.
Then you have the cost of loading the junk on a truck and hauling it off to the scrap yard.
we have a local quarry like that. supposedly has a truck or two in it. too deep to tell. popular swimming hole now.
another one used to have cross country skiing all around it during the 50-80s then a kid died when the side crumbled and rocks drowned him. now it's not open to the public.
we snuck in to do some fishing and it looked just like this. crystal clear water, it was amazing and sadly banned from the public. it had amazing fishing too, huge bass.
as we were leaving we got caught and the old man yelled at us but didn't call police or anything. no cellphones at the time lol. so sad that place is wasted. still has the old Alpine Lake sign.
Great clip with good music, incredible, peace yo.
How did the quarry flood? Seems hard to believe it flooded so fast they could not just drive out a few pieces of equipment.
+Sodiumreactor Quarries are intentionally flooded when they're finished with them to make them less of an eyesore.
With the equipment still in them??
Probably got some new stuff, didn't need the old equipment.
Overture Films Nah. That would never happen. They would at the least sell it to a couple of scrappers. At most they could have scrapped it themselves. I am wondering what the cause of the flood was.
+Sodiumreactor Its like when you drill for a well same thing they went so far down, and when they hit the water table it does fill pretty fast.
Better to know the history of this place. Then we can guess the truth behind the deaths of innocent swimmers
Sick footage. Treasure is in the eye of the beholder! I dig your video ! Where is this?
Great video by the way. Camera looks very clear.
