For Megan's friends - remember how the neighbor said how sweet and compassionate and well behaved the children were and that is reflected on their mother alone. That was her legacy and proof she was a wonderful person. As for the murdering father, remember how he lived there for weeks and still was too much of a coward to kill himself, which is ridiculous in itself that he would even try to convince anyone that he actually tried to kill himself. That alone shows what a liar he is and that he is 100% guilty of killing his whole family + even the dog, and that he STILL deserves the death penalty. It does not matter what he says, he is a liar - there is no doubt. And through this all, there is no mention of a life insurance policy? He is a liar and he killed his whole family and the family dog. Remember that and know that justice will be served when he is dead and burns in hell for eternity.

Tony mentions an insurance policy in his letter to his dad. It’s on page 6.He claims to have had a “giant” policy on himself but “only” a 200-300k on her which he was going to use to “set things right and get back on his feet” when he gets out.
This was from the Osceola County lockup when he thought he was getting out.

@@obxconsumer9281 The State’s Attorney decided against the death penalty due to potential mental issues they thought Tony may have been suffering. They Had decided against it way back in Jan ‘21.
I’m neither here nor there on that. All things considered, the Todt’s lived a fairly decent life - they did spend far beyond their means and Tony basically blamed Megan for all that while he was the obedient breadwinning husband (shocker, I know). This case, once you look at all the evidence of living beyond their means has a LOT of red flags.
The home Megan, the kids and Breezy were murdered in, the Todt’s were being evicted. they hadn’t paid rent. They also had another condo in the same town a few blocks away, Tony was flying back and forth to CT and crashing at hotels (again, per his letter).
He also makes a reference to HydroWorx - the name on the t-shirt Meg was murdered in. That’s a company that makes specialized water tanks for water therapy - and they are EXPENSIVE. Tony bought one for the clinic in CT.
EDIT: Tony also on more than one occasion, failed to make payroll. That impacted people who worked his clinic. He was VERY BAD with money.
But Meg was the big spender? I’d call Tony an animal but that’s an insult to animals.
Here’s the letter to his dad -> s3.documentcloud.org/documents/7008004/Letter-from-Anthony-Todt-to-his-father-Robert-Todt.pdf

@@srirachahero4679 Thanks for the info - I will read the letter, which I have not read. There is a very interesting in-depth Podcast called: "Looking for the Todt Family" that I saw on UA-cam and it even left out a lot. I do agree I would not insult animals but AT is a monster and all monsters can be considered mentally ill but that is no excuse and he should not be allowed to continue living as far as the so-called justice system - they have killed other monsters for less. His final judgment will come though...eventually. Megan was kept in the dark on everything and was the dutiful wife taking care of the kids as far as I am concerned. Her children behaved so well according to the neighbors, exceptionally well - but, that could be a product of loving upbringing or the opposite. We will never know and that is how he planned it, so I still think, AT killed them all. There is no way Megan did not know she was being evicted. Maybe she gave AT a hard time and he axed the family. I feel Megan became very reclusive and the only reason anyone had contact with her was because she had to because of the children's activities. If you know anything about Benadryl effects, you will know AT is a big fat liar. Another hideous monster who is still alive in prison is - see the movie: "Black Bird" - that one made me cry. I want him to burn.

I really appreciate all the hard work but, this straining for objectivity makes me more than a little uncomfortable. He confessed to the murders in detail and where he diverged in his confession is sure up by the medical examiner. So, what's all this maybe Megan did it stuff. This man said he'd do anything to protect his wife but the minute he knew he could go to jail for life he threw his murdered wife under the bus. He couldn't call for help because there was no cell, but he left the house several times to buy stuff and feed himself. He lived with the dead bodies for weeks, just what an innocent person would do, he made phony phone calls pretending to be members of his family, no one in this entire trial testified to Megan's terrible physical state but her murderer, he watched as the woman he loved more than anyone in the world stabbed herself to death. One lie maybe but this string of lies makes him an unreliable narrator. I wouldn't believe him if he told me he was in prison for life. There is nothing special about AT, he's a narcissistic family killer plain and simple and even after he murdered his family he continued to ground the memory of his wife into the dirt. He and he alone is guilty.

Did either side attempt to order a psychological evaluation? The need for this murderer to maintain control over his family is only a symptom of a much more deeply rooted psychological pathology. It is not enough to say, “Todt had an overwhelming need to control his wife and children, and when this no longer seemed possible he murdered them.” I’m not defending him per se….it just drives me to distraction that such obvious, ignorant and glib ideas are thrown about with zero understanding of the place in the psyche from which this need arose. Obviously, the overwhelming issue in this man’s life took place when a hired assassin nearly murdered his mother-right in front of him, aged 4-and that his father was the culprit. This has immense seriousness in relation to this case, but since the case is so monstrous, I don’t understand why the trial was so short and so uncontested by the defense.

Then when the jury came back and said that they could not make a decision, I braced for another Casey Anthony situation, but thank goodness they convicted. I can’t even imagine why it took them so long to deliver it this case should’ve been five minutes of deliberation, and then guilty.

But ultimately there is still enough to be firmly convinced Tony Todt did this. All of this. Zero evidence of Megan being involved other than Tony’s word, which we know is not reliable on its own. Tony involved Megan in everything he said, including things after her own death.
My own theory is that he had undiagnosed schizophrenia, and all the stress he was under prompted psychotic delusions re end of the world, etc.

Overdosing on benedryl can cause psychosis and I’m certain he also had a drinking problem for a while and that can also contribute to psychosis. He didn’t go for an insanity defence, which was really his only hope, because he’s such a narcissist that he thought he could get himself total freedom. As someone who had about 4-5 years experience in inpatient psychiatry before switching fields, I am not seeing much evidence of schizophrenia here - although always a range of severities, most with schizophrenia would not be this high functioning, to have wife, kids, complicated job plus fraud, they frequently have a more “flat” matter-of-fact way of speaking, sometimes remarkably so, and there are a number of other disorders in which people have delusions…including delusional disorders, where otherwise “normal” people have a single delusion, often romantic (a celebrity is secretly in love with them) or persecutorial (people are plotting against me).
There are sadly a number of these family annihilator type cases (I can think of 6-7), often the dad, and often whenever a long going fraud or cover up is about to be uncovered. I think that about explains it, that to some - killing their family is considered “better” option, rather than having to explain their deceptions.

Yes I agree, Megan could very well have been involved. If only the phone records & internet history were presented at trial, we would have a much clearer picture of the months leading up to this tragic event.

That's tragic really because I'd say outside Tony's statements and the suicide letter "copied" by Tony, there's no compelling evidence she was involved at all. Which means even though he was found guilty he's still succeeded in duping at least some people into believing what are most likely cruel and slanderous lies, diminishing his own role and vilifying his dead wife.

@@williamwilson5718 I think the prosecution would’ve dispelled the notion she was involved if they didn’t think she was. I think the things that weren’t introduced at trial speak volumes. We can’t scrutinize the things that weren’t introduced so all we have to go by is what he’s said about it. And claiming she was in on it didn’t benefit him in any way. Whether she was or wasn’t, he’s still guilty of four counts of premeditated murder and he’s going to do the rest of his life in prison. So why say all of that while claiming to be the one to actually have done all the killings if it wasn’t true?

@@trickortrump3292 If she's a willing participant and not a victim that's a huge mitigating factor for Tony, and even if he gets the same sentence either way, telling the story the way he did has to be way more palatable to him. In his version he's still a killer sure but for way more noble reasons.
If the prosecution had any mitigating evidence I'm pretty sure they're required to discolse it.

@@williamwilson5718 Yes they’re required to disclose it to his defence team. They’re not required to admit things into evidence at trial. The prosecution may not have wanted to admit Megan’s journals because they’d show her to be an accomplice and that gives the defence an alternate suspect but the defence may not have wanted them introduced because it makes Tony complicit in the murders. It might just boil down to that as to why her journals and internet search histories weren’t introduced. And Megan being involved does absolutely nothing to mitigate his role in the murders of the children. I’d love to see his first interview with police and be able to compare what he said on the 13th to what he said on the 15th and see how much of his story stayed the same or changed. If he made it all up just to try and make himself sound a little less evil, he would’ve had to have already resigned himself to a life in prison and only been concerned with how people would perceive him. I don’t see that being consistent with who he is. He could’ve gone for an insanity defence and that would’ve been a much easier sell to the jury than this bs “I came home to find she had murdered the kids and then she violently committed suicide in front of me and I couldn’t find a phone to call for help and I lied and said I was the killer to protect her even though she’s dead and it would put me in prison for the rest of my life”. But an insanity verdict would’ve still had him locked up in a hospital for a number of years and he’s too much of a narcissist to compromise his freedom in any way. Legally, falsely involving Megan in the murders wouldn’t and didn’t help him out one bit. And obviously at least one person on the jury was open to the possibility because they were initially hung on one of the counts and it only makes sense for it to have been Megan’s murder that was causing the deadlock with at least one juror being hesitant about whether it was a murder vs a suicide. But even if they’d stayed deadlocked on that one, he’d still be doing the rest of his life in prison for the murders of the kids. He’s a terrible liar. Like ridiculously bad liar. Offensively bad! But things he said in the interrogation we saw and on the calls to his sister are consistent with that theory. And we can feel like assholes for considering a victim to be a perpetrator but don’t the kids deserve having all options explored? If their mom was involved, don’t they deserve to have that known?

I would love to hear more podcast from this group. I know that this is a Connecticut story, but I would love to see how you guys handled the Karen Reed case. Everyone reporting about it right now is so sensational, but after this series, I know you guys would do a fantastic job of covering the truth.
Robert, if he is still alive, is probably reading these comments because that's the feeling I get from him. He is a shameless man.
