My reaction was "oh." ...but you have to admit, that actuation point adjuster is cool. Personally, I will have to stick with Cherry MX myself, got a G710+ Brown on clearance for $50, I prefer blue, but at that price, I can settle for Brown!
These are factory keycaps and they are not PBT, they are doubleshot ABS. But these Topre hybrid electrostatic capasitive switches are not standard Topre switches, they made them Cherry MX compatible and these are great news, because you can install almost any PBT caps if you want.
Its funny you say that! because i have so many friends using it! to me, i usually give to recomendations , if you want to get in to mechanical keyboards on budget, tomoko 84 OR Redragon K552 KUMARA is a way to go, if you have cash to spend, Corsair k70 is a way to go.
Rasyid Harun sorry im not a keyboard pro like you lol, but if someone came to your house and saw this next to a razer a corsair they are obv gonna think the razer/corsair looks cooler.
Yeah I noticed this, and honestly it's killing me. Trying to decide if I want to purchase one or not. I know that the board works with cherry mx keycaps... but if I were to change them out that might screw over some of the topre feel, and also this keyboard is 108 key rather than 104 so... most keysets don't work.
You will not screw up the feel. The main attraction of this keyboard is the superb implantation of Cherry MX stems that allow you to use a wider range of keycap sets when compared to most other Topre keyboards, However do keep in mind that nearly every other Topre keyboard, barring the discontinued Novatouch and the cheap Type Heaven, they all ship with great PBT dye subbed keycaps. From what I heard, it does feel a little bit different to regular Topre stems, but it's still pretty good and you may even prefer the way it feels. I know for a fact that I never want to use Cherry MX (and clones) keyboards ever again so if I ever want to have a keyboard I can truly make my own, the Realforce RGB might just be the solution.
PurgeX Wrist rests lower the angle of your wrists when typing and also helps keep them in one place so you dont move them all over the keyboard and mess up your typing pattern. Also at this price, they should have included a wrist rest.
Topre keyboards are always really expensive, and this is the first RGB edition of any Capacitive keyboard. It's expensive, but for different reasons than other keyboards
an aluminum top deck is bull shit tho. all and any mechanical keyboards SHOULD (or else they are like 10 dollar mechs lol.) have metal in a sheet under the keys to hold them up and some other things that i dont really know. Corsair first took advantage of this, removed the plastic and BADABOOM, looks stylish, types the same. i would like a wrist rest tho.
+Cheat Code Not quite... The Cooler Master Pro L uses Cherry MX switches. You cannot change the actuation point in Cherry switcher, however you can with Topre switches which are in this keyboard. The design and LEDs do look similar between the two keyboard though. Thanks for watching our videos!
Posted this twice 7 hours and 30 min ago but not exact words, maybe you wont see it already Tech UA-camr's are boring but if I watch your videos I'm getting interested cause you have good keyboard reviews I have a membrane keyboard that's why I want it, Any mechanical keyboard will do but it's best when you give me that keyboard LOL, The difference between you and other UA-camrs is that other UA-camrs talk fast and speaking unnecessary things you speak gently and you have good quality videos you don't mess up with your words and I think you will be popular 1 day and I hope to see you play video games, you will earn more subscribers, God bless bro hope you get more subs!!!! But if you don't give me anything it's ok just give me a shout out at least and I still watching your videos even I don't get anything or a shout out. :)
I suggest getting a Corsair K70 or K95 with rapidfire switches, they arent as nearly as loud as a Chroma and still give you that nice feel, with a much higher actuation point for gaming.
Topre, once you go to that switch you can never go back. Probably not this KB though, it's overpriced. People berate Type Heaven KBs for shitty reasons though. Sound on it isn't merely as good as a Realforce or HHKB but they all feel nearly the same.
If you want a cheap Topre that has feels but not the best sound and quality, a Topre Type Heaven would be just fine. www.amazon.com/dp/B00DGJALYW/?tag=xahh-20 However, if you don't really have a money limit, pretty any HHKB Topre or Realforce Topre keyboard would be better than Type Heaven.
I'm looking for the best Topre keyboard. I love the feel of the blue switches but I hate the sound. Currently using a blackwidow and I'm having that issue.
In the end a Ferrari will do what a Honda will do. In the end a private jet will do what economy seating will do. In the end a $5000 PC will do what a $50 laptop will do. Yes, the keyboard does what a $10 keyboard does, but looks and feels much better.
This Keyboard literally has nothing good about it, exept if you like topre switches. It has an all plastic body, not a braided usb cable, you're just overshadowing all of this by liking the switches but other than that its really only a mediocre keyboard especially at 270 Bucks
MS Tech, Can I please have this Keyboard... I really want this keyboard because I am currently using a really old keyboard for my setup and this would be great because my old one broke recently and I used to use it for all my school work. I have been subscribed and watching for a really long time now and I dont have enough money to buy one of these. Thanks HAppy newyear
Jessie Hydro Torpe is much better than Cherry, and u get Thick PBT keycaps, which cost about 50$ plus u can change the actuation point (Sry if my Eng is bad :
I don't understand the hype about topre. The spring is only there to register the click and provides almost no resistance. It's a rubber dome over dome over pcb instead of membrane. Is it not just a rubber dome keyboard that is less mushy and lighter to press?
So how it works is that you have your normal keycap and stem. The stem goes down and presses on the rubber dome and the spring. The spring registers the key press, and the spring and the rubber dome help bounce the key back up. And what you get is a super smooth key press, and a switch that technically should never fail, since there are no mechanical parts and nothing needs to make contact for it to register a key press.
"You'll pass getting a $250 keyboard?" Yea. Sorry, I don't obsess over prices, and rather over the performance of things. I just don't like Topre switches, so I'ld just be wasting my mony for something I don't like. "You come off as a really bitchy person." And you come off as a annoying twat but that doesn't really matter :D
how about the Aukey rgb mechanical keyboard? It's 70 bucks, nice rgb lighting with multiple settings but no macros, or media buttons, (fn + f5, f6 f7 and f8)
How does this compare to iron spring or even general optical switches? I'm looking at the wooting one or zowie to make a more media key friendly optical board. I want pbt keycaps and clicky type writer feel and but also all the features like macros, media keys and fast switches. Right now I'm running the Anne pro and Logitech Orion. Wish I could feel the wooting or a topre personally to make a decision. Pbt is something I miss since I have the Anne in a desk till I'm writing research papers. My daily is the Logitech. I don't personally like the asthetic of any gaming keybaord. They plain and simple look like blatant rip offs to me. I didn't pay, I got it for free but still, I still feel the disrespect haha
And shit is stupid, the price is horrendous. Anything but Razer, logitech romer g, and cherry speeds aren't even supposed to be in the specific gaming keys....yet you still get those
Matt, you should consider looking into reviewing other Topre boards, as from what I have heard from other keyboard enthusiasts, this isn't even close to being the best Topre board. The Realforce 87 has no LEDs, but apparently feels better.
If you want full solid aluminium keycaps then you will be paying a small fortune. I think RAMA Works sells full CNC aluminium keycaps. I think it costs $36/cap So some keycaps for a full keyboard would be somewhere around 3.7 thousand dollars for keycaps. You can always buy those zinc plated keycaps for like $30 bucks on Amazon but I heard the plating wears off after a few weeks of use.
thanks for the info. Apparently, Rama works likes to rip people off because aluminum shouldn't nearly cost this much. I worked as a CNC operator a while ago and parts that are 5 times the size of 1 of these caps, and had way more intricate cuts cost like $ 5 - 15 a pop. The price tag is ridiculous. It would take like 5 - 10 minutes to create a full set on a CNC. the only process that would take a bit of time is the anodizing.
It's not that hard to rip off the consumer when you are the one of the only companies to sell metal keycaps. But how much would it cost to get something like their keycaps? CNC aluminium, then anodize it? But I guess it costs a little more due to labour costs and it's an actual company so they have to profit off these keycaps.
The company is a 1 man team lol. I found another company, a little bit less expensive HolyOOPS. tinyurl.com/oulyl4k --- they have way more intricate designs, but the plain ones cost is reasonable as only a few makers make them.
Hi dude, im currently using the combo devastator, but i dont like the keyboard that much, hopefully ill get that keyboard because I think its easier to use..
The best typing feel I've had isn't even a mechanical keyboard. It's the Mecha-membrane Ornata Chroma from Razer. I've had a dozen mechanical keyboards from 50$ to 200$ and the Ornata is now my daily driver.
This kinda feels similar just a lot less mushy and with a longer travel. Obviously no click either, but like other mechanicals you don't have to bottom out on the Topre for it to actuate so double tapping is EZ PZ. Plus you get the added benefit of a standard layout with MX keycap compatibility unlike the ornata.
Love the actuation toggle, but I'm still trying to wrap my head around $270 for a plastic frame and a rubber cable. I guess it's for the switches. I'll keep rocking my (mass)drop ALT and CTRLs.
I got a pretty good gaming computer a little over a year ago and have slowly gotten some accessories to go along with it such as a gaming mouse and good headphones. However, the one thing I have not been able to get is a gaming keyboard. I am unemployed and not sure how I'll pay rent this month but a gaming keyboard would be a great pick-me-up. Thanks for the awesome HQ vids!!
I doubt it's worth it. Tbh I haven't actually tried Topre switches, but as far as I know they're just available in tactile flavors. The actuation point thing is amazing, but from what I can tell, its a bit reminiscent of a dome keyboard (again, it's just my first impression. I haven't actually tested it). I don't know about the software, but I doubt that it's as customizable as Corsair's offering. It's made entirely out of plastic. The flip out feet flip away from you, which isn't smart since they can collapse if you move the keyboard forward. The cable isn't braided, and overall it looks pretty average. It doesn't stand out (which I guess is good for others, but I don't like it). IMO even something like a K65 or K70 offer better value. They have an aluminum back plate, USB pass through, a braided cable, and (as far as I know), a better software. I'm not saying the Topre Real force is bad. It's just not worth it IMO.
I use the HyperX Alloy FPS keyboard, it's a simple mechanical keyboard with an Aluminium base, and Cherry MX switches, it's quite cheap and is very portable, though it is not RGB. I would highly recommend it for gaming.
lol i fell off my fucking chair as soon as the amazon page loaded and showed me the price of 250 dollars...
hahaha
My reaction was "oh." ...but you have to admit, that actuation point adjuster is cool. Personally, I will have to stick with Cherry MX myself, got a G710+ Brown on clearance for $50, I prefer blue, but at that price, I can settle for Brown!
the don't sell them anymore tho at least in the US
Now it’s like 100 or 120 dollars

Really hard to find pbt caps compatible with backlit though

This is the information that should be in a review. Thank you!
Also, Corsair makes a set that look like they might be nice.
@@PantsLJones but corsair pbt key caps are terrible

20 dollar shipping?! Pssh I'll pass
GODDAMN that thing better write my 15 page essays by itself
this looks like a $30-$50 keyboard lol
Grvty ikr
Grvty same
Yeah that plastic bezel looks ugly af
so which keyboard has a look of "$200" keyboard, lol you probably don't know anything about mech key, especially topre.
Rasyid Harun sorry im not a keyboard pro like you lol, but if someone came to your house and saw this next to a razer a corsair they are obv gonna think the razer/corsair looks cooler.
Matt, this keyboard does not feature PBT keycaps. Instead, they used doubleshot ABS plastic.
Yeah I noticed this, and honestly it's killing me. Trying to decide if I want to purchase one or not. Where do you film these videos considering you're in college right now in a dorm room?
My problems:
It's made of plastic
No wrisrest
PurgeX
Wrist rests lower the angle of your wrists when typing and also helps keep them in one place so you dont move them all over the keyboard and mess up your typing pattern. Also at this price, they should have included a wrist rest.
Wrist rests are dirt cheap, only the housing is plastic it has a thick steel mounting plate underneath.
It has very solid plastic though
Let me get a number 9 large
+Dakota York What sauce would you like with that?
no no no, its number 6 with extra dip
hopefully not a mechanical keyboard because i want that sauce
...annnd a llaaaaarrrggee sode

My keyboard lights up the letters so you can see them at night. It also feels AMAZING! (its also cheaper)

ok
Will standard Cherry Keycaps work on this? Because if they dont that really will limit them.
when a keyboard costs more than your cpu...

For 270$ I would (personally) expect an aluminum top deck and braided wire and the option of a wrist rest. But hey; you cant have it all.
Donavan Chapman for 270$ keyboard, you should have it all.
actually if we are talking US dollar than for sure; my bad.
Topre keyboards are always really expensive, and this is the first RGB edition of any Capacitive keyboard. It's expensive, but for different reasons than other keyboards

I just think an alloy top deck is really good looking; better than molded plastic.
From what I've seen everywhere, the keycaps on the Topre Realforce RGB are ABS doubleshot, not PBT.
MS Tech is it all done i did all u asked, do i just wait till it comes at my house ?
12aarroonn did it arrive?
best keyboard > not even a wristpad
i hate wristpad...
but they should have included it
Wish I could afford this

He Sucks can't afford to buy a mechanical keyboard.
What now your just fake.

Coming from a blackwidow would this be worth the upgrade? I don't like how loud my black widow is.
I suggest getting a Corsair K70 or K95 with rapidfire switches, they arent as nearly as loud as a Chroma and still give you that nice feel, with a much higher actuation point for gaming.

If you want a cheap Topre that has feels but not the best sound and quality, a Topre Type Heaven would be just fine. www.amazon.com/dp/B00DGJALYW/?tag=xahh-20
However, if you don't really have a money limit, pretty any HHKB Topre or Realforce Topre keyboard would be better than Type Heaven.
I'm looking for the best Topre keyboard. I love the feel of the blue switches but I hate the sound. Currently using a blackwidow and I'm having that issue.
In the end it will do what a $10 keyboard will do

Don't give us this click bait without telling price, no one has heard of it because no ones gunna pay for it. Just stupid
Not paying that much for plastic.. Don't care if its Topre/RGB.
POPOPOOOOOOOOOOOO!!!!!!!!!!!
HHAHAHAHA..... so you're saying its a luxury good then?
keep your luxury plastic. I would gladly pay more for better materials.
its a normally priced keyboard.. its a normally priced keyboard... ITS A NORMALLY PRICED KEYBOARD???

270 for plastic body and not even a braided cable, no thanks
Jessie Hydro well its torpe so totally worth it
I can think of other good mechanical keyboards for lots less
Jessie Hydro Torpe is much better than Cherry, and u get Thick PBT keycaps, which cost about 50$ plus u can change the actuation point
(Sry if my Eng is bad :
That's subjective,t"much better" is a matter of debate . Im sure there are those who like cherry mx's better.
Yes, topre switches tend to be more expensive but the keycaps are still double shot ABS, not PBT.

No, no you were not. You do not know what irony means.
Now if you had given him a lifetip about his name "LifeTips UK", then it would have been ironic.

oui :c
I don't want to be that guy, but Topre keyboards aren't mechanical. They're membrane :P
it uses rubber domes, but it's not membrane - electrostatic capacitive technology is what makes Topre switches different.
T yes, my mistake!
It's not membrane, but neither mechanical, it's premium rubber, with the capacitive sensors on the circuit board like a membrane.
M M Piero y are they so expensive if they baisically good membranes
you just answered your own question
Nice review! What about the lighting, how is it controlled, via software like with Corsair or like with the Ducky Shine?
UHHH HOW IS DIS BETR DEN KORSER WID DE COOL LOGO AND MACRO KEYS?????? im 12 btw
switches and I'm 11 lol
and you don't know what a meme is
this is a joke man, doesnt even come with a wrist rest, k95 platinum rgb ftw
You didn't need to tell us you were 12, we could tell by the normie-type way you wrote your comment.
"normie-type way" damn calm down elitist, you're not too great yourself considering you post unturned content..
I don't really like Topre switches, so I'll pass.

And you come off as a annoying twat but that doesn't really matter :D
I wouldn't say that, they just feel.... weird.
What's wrong with 104 key? I thought that was what was preferred?
how about the Aukey rgb mechanical keyboard? It's 70 bucks, nice rgb lighting with multiple settings but no macros, or media buttons, (fn + f5, f6 f7 and f8)
couldn't help but amazed of how fast and accurate your typing is
which one is better k95 platinum or this one?
How does this compare to iron spring or even general optical switches? I'm looking at the wooting one or zowie to make a more media key friendly optical board. the diffrence in the plastic keys does the corsair k70 lux non rgb cerry mx red have the good plastic keys or the less good?
Okay how do you type that fast, how many typing games do you play?!
hows this keycap compared to the blackwidow v2
That led back light looks really cool!
Better than bloody?
How short can you set the actuation distance?
Why don't they make the cable on keyboards detachable?
Is the Razer Blackwidow Tournament Edition Mamba worth it?
Is it good?
Should I buy that or this one ?
can you please do a vid on laptop gaming/ like products for it and stuff? thanks
Matt, you should consider looking into reviewing other Topre boards, as from what I have heard from other keyboard enthusiasts, this isn't even close to being the best Topre board. The Realforce 87 has no LEDs, but apparently feels better.
Was that an Oyster Perpetual on his wrist? Or a Milgauss white dial? Am i wrong :p? The watch was distracting x-X
wondering how many times he did the typing race to get that result
recommend a typing app?
about the cable, i got a FAKE mechanical keyboard and mouse combo and they both have braided cables. whats the difference?
Can these keyboard be used on IMac?
I know this was along time ago but y'all remember this. You make 100% of the shots you don't miss. Peace y'all.
any keyboards with aluminum key caps?
If you want full solid aluminium keycaps then you will be paying a small fortune. I think RAMA Works sells full CNC aluminium keycaps. I think it costs $36/cap
So some keycaps for a full keyboard would be somewhere around 3.7 thousand dollars for keycaps.
Ever tried an HHKB? Case mounted as opposed to plate mounted, and I preferred it over the Realforce RGB.
Isnt it Double Shot ABS, Not PBT keycaps?
Hi dude, im currently using the combo devastator, but i dont like the keyboard that much, hopefully ill get that keyboard because I think its easier to use..
uhh my mousemat is rubbery underneath it but like it still moves... imma nee to modify any mech keyboard to fit nails. so it wont move
Why would you need a braided USB cable? Do people regularly unplug, wrap up the cable, and take there mechanical keyboard with them everywhere?
what do you think about ADX FirefightH01
How did you Learning to type
I'll keep rocking my (mass)drop ALT and CTRLs.
is it ok when I am from German?
is it a problem for sending the keyboard?
does it run crysis?
I got a pretty good gaming computer a little over a year ago and have slowly gotten some accessories to go along with it such as a gaming mouse and good headphones. However, the one thing I have not been able to get is a gaming keyboard. I am unemployed and not sure how I'll pay rent this month but a gaming keyboard would be a great pick-me-up. Thanks for the awesome HQ vids!!
try a hewlett-packard 5157 from the 90s. I have one and it is amazing, despite being 20 years old
How do you like ducky keyboards?
This would be sweet to have, I've been using a $5.00 membrane for so long!!
one of the best tech showcased channels
It's just not worth it IMO.
what is the song in the start? (in the intro)
what is the name of this song
What keyboard would you guys recommend to me?
I use the HyperX Alloy FPS keyboard, it's a simple mechanical keyboard with an Aluminium base, and Cherry MX switches, it's quite cheap and is very portable, though it is not RGB. I would highly recommend it for gaming.
Can you review the Fuhlen SM680R?
RealForce RGBisn't mechanical keyboard!
It is "Capacitive Keyboard"
